Based on a fieldwork conducted among groups of Father Cicero‟s devotee pilgrims at the Brazilian state of Ceará, I try to discuss in this paper the use pilgrims make of the expressions "tourism" and "go touring”. The argument presented here is that the uses of these expressions are much more than a classification system through which they seek to define who goes on pilgrimage for devotion or for leisure. The main argument is that when the pilgrims use these expressions there is a tension related to the transformations that have been occurring on pilgrimages (and on the ways pilgrims experience them), as well as on the meanings of pilgrimages for their lives, either individually or as a group.

From one dimension of culture, the word boundary breaks away from the idea of territorial boundary defined a priori as something fixed to the delineation of boundaries. Released this commitment, it can be thought of in other dimensions: as of transition moments of identity experienced by individuals, for women, compared to established norms. Questioning the determinant and connected speech processes of change, they left the banks in which they lived and sought recognition of self, identity and new choices have taken up other possibilities for being, social inclusion, coupled with the guarantee of their rights. Recognizing the existence of this movement, I propose a look at border on the inclusion of women as widows in order to observe the multiple identities of their female protagonists. This reflection aims to take account of social fraying beyond the limits and directions in taxes and if the widow, to expand the boundaries of its meaning and consider the possibility of hybrid subjects, differentiated, and therefore mobile and moving all the time an ongoing performance of operations, as well as contemporary studies have shown about gender relations that take into account the distinctions of race, class, ethnicity, and especially for generations.

September 11 has originated a wide range of artistic manifestations which have not only searched for plausible explanations for the tragedy, but also tried to review the events. In this sense, this paper aims at showing how a novel reevaluates this episode. The attacks made the United States experience a strong sense of vulnerability triggering reactions from the American government, whose quick action was translated into a new national security strategy associated with the war on terror. This paper analyzes the narrative strategies employed by the American author Don DeLillo in his novel Falling Man (2007) in order to reevaluate that tragedy. The debate of the topics is based on texts concerning the relationship between literature and history, postmodern fiction and issues on terrorism. This study contributes to enrich the discussion related to the events that led to the catastrophe and its aftermath, examining characters and groups linked to the September 11 terrorist attacks, revealing multiple truths subjected to social, ideological and historical conditions.

A infância, tal como conhecemos hoje é uma construção social. Segundo Áries, há indícios de que o início da infância tenha surgido entre os séculos XVII e XVIII, mudanças de comportamento da sociedade aos poucos desenharam a infância atual, antes predominava a indiferenciação entre as fases da vida. Hoje temos uma infinidade de produtos de consumo destinados à infância e lidamos com a incerteza do papel que esta ocupa atualmente. A criança não possuí um lugar estático na sociedade, o olhar social sobre a infância está em constante transformação, o lugar que está ocupa também. Neste contexto, a mídia exerce grande influência no comportamento e relações sociais. Pensando em tais influências, nas transformações que estas podem trazer à sociedade e dirigindo nosso olhar para a mídia televisiva e as propagandas publicitárias, que são construídas com objetivos determinados. Buscamos com este estudo ler, a partir das propagandas publicitárias televisivas, formas, que estas, indiciam, mostram e criam modos de ser criança e de conceber a infância na contemporaneidade. No primeiro capítulo faremos uma discussão sobre a concepção de infância e seu surgimento. Os três últimos capítulos foram construídos a partir do estudo das propagandas escolhidas para o trabalho, dividimos as propagandas de acordo com a infância apresentada por estas: Infância adultizada, Infância ingênua e um método utilizado pelas propagandas que faz alusão ao público infantil, a animação.

Nowadays, we understand the childhood as a result of historical and social changes. This work aims to comprehend representations and expectations made by children from the popular classes in the initial years of Fundamentaql Education. We conducted a research with six students from a public school that attends children from urban popular layer's families. The research examines the meanings and representations of educational practices developed in the relationships established among teachers, students and families through their life stories. Among the results, we can say that the environment of differentiation in the school id perceived to the students because they introject teacher's representations about their performance. Scientific studies show that children crystallize a positive image of the shool when the speech and posture of the institution value and encourage learning. However, the students are challenged to produce better results in order to participate in extracurricular activities, which they are excluded todue indiscipline or learning difficulties. The mean of the schooling is highly influenced by the performance of students and also by the attitude of educators in the family and in the school. The theoretical review points out that when students have a good performance, the merit is attributed to stress and ease they have to acquire the learning contents. In other hand, struggling students or with a lag of content explains the academic problems stems from the lack of capacity and potential for acquisition of learning compatible with age, defining schooling as something necessary for training, but which is inaccessible in their life stories

This study aimed at analyzing the meanings of Children and Child Rights awarded by the kindergarten children and their educators, parents and teacher. Interest in the subject arose from the participation of the University Extension Project, conducted at the Department of Education, UNESP, Bauru, called The Rights of the Child: ECA in school. Since then, the question arose: to what extent we have visibility of meanings that educators and the child has on the Rights of the Child relating to the specifics of childhood? The research followed the tenets of qualitative research, methodological procedures and adopting the observation in a classroom from kindergarten (K II), semi-structured interview through leisure moments, with the class of aged five years and a questionnaire for family and teacher. The research adopted as reference material, studies of the area of Sociology of Childhood, History of Childhood, Public Policy, Legislation Related to the theme, and an overview of psychogenic to talk about the morality of children. The results showed that parents and caregivers understand childhood as a stage of child development, marked by jokes and fancies, in which the family and the school has an important role in this process. In what concerns the children's rights, there are contradictions in the legal aspects and the situation of children today. The results showed that children's childhood is characterized by recreational activities, and adults are responsible for caring for them. And it comes on the Rights of the Child noted that there is a confusion between rights and duties because they are in a phase of moral heteronomy. The findings indicate the need for wide dissemination on the Statute of Children and Adolescents, especially in preschools in line with families to practice it a new look at childhood, conceiving children as subjects... La lucha por la tierra en el Brasil se confunde con la própria historia del país, erigida sobre una cuestión agraria turbulenta en la cual ha predominado la hegemonía de los grandes proprietarios de tierra, tanto en la forma de latifundistas, cuanto, más recientemente, de los empresarios del agribusiness, caracterizando una versión más moderna de la dominación de la lógica del capital en detrimento de las demás formas de organización de la vida. A partir de la segunda mitad del siglo XX, ocurre un aguzamiento de los conflictos por la tierra con la emergencia de los principales movimientos sociales en Brasil, como el MST. Esos movimientos surgen en un contexto de transformación de la formación socioespacial brasileña, marcada por la creciente urbanización del país, lo que repercute em las sus formas de organización, pasando a comparecer una preocupación con la población urbana en las discusiones y acciones en pro de la Reforma Agraria. Yuxtaponiendo-se a eso proceso, también ha emergido fortemiente en las últimas décadas la problemática de la hambre en el mundo, tanto a través de los dados alarmantes de los organismos supranacionales (FAO), como del debate impulsado por los movimientos sociales acerca de la Soberanía Alimentaria (Via Campesina). Todos esos elementos merecen atención em esto trabajo, que busca aprehender cómo se efectiva la participación de barrios de la periferia pobre de la ciudad de Presidente Prudente/SP en el proceso de lucha por la tierra en el Pontal del Paranapanema, haciendo eso por lo medio de una lectura geográfica de esa realidad que prime por la superación analítica de la disociación entre ciudad y campo, como se fueran espacios inertes entre sí. Además, es nuestro objetivo destacar las motivaciones que llevan los sujetos protagonistas de eso proceso a dejaren la ciudad y adhieriren a la lucha por la tierra, permitiendo identificar elementos que extrapolan la esfera económico-material
