A transformação e revalorização do espaço do centro histórico de Santos/SP

The city of Santos always had its importance recognised by the respectful role of flowing off the coffee production between the end of 19th and beginning of 20th centuries. All effervescence of this period brought changes to the central area of the city, located near the port. Beginning in the 1970s, some changes in the politics and in the city's urban space made its cafes, theaters, stores and traditional residencies find itselves in decadence imposed by the negligence of the public power. The Historic Downtown of Santos changed to a forgotten and depreciated space and remained that way for many years, reflecting negatively in the preservation of the arquitetonic heritage of the city. The present project aims to analyse the transformation of the current space of the Hitoric Downtown of Santos from the beginning of the 20th century and its recent revaluation through the public politics of the city

Guerra da Bósnia e Joe Sacco: as identidades retratadas em área de segurança - Gorazde e uma história de Sarajevo

As histórias em quadrinhos ainda são normalmente associadas por grande parte da sociedade e temas infantis e superficiais. Porém, diversos quadrinistas têm nos mostrado com o passar dos anos que as HQs podem e devem ser respeitadas como meio de comunicação, por sua união singular do imagético com o textual. O quadrinho pode se transformar em uma alternativa para o jornalismo, por trabalhar com liberdade ímpar em suas técnicas estilítico-narrativas. Um dos grandes expoentes dos quadrinhos no jornalismo é o maltês naturalizado norte americano Joe Sacco. Joe escreveu as obras Área de Segurança Gorazde e Uma história de Sarajevo, sobre a Guerra da Bósnia. Esta pesquisa busca fazer uma análise destas duas obras, e mostrar como as histórias em quadrinhos podem acrescentar novas visões e perspectivas ao jornalismo, preenchendo lacunas criadas pelo modo de produção noticioso e dando espaço àqueles marginalizados pela grande mídia

Espaço geográfico e educação: um estudo sobre o lugar do Conselho de Escola

In this text, the results of our research on the geographic location and establishing relationships with the School Council. We consider some legal aspects added to the evidence gathered in our experience to check how much the School Council is constituted as a non-state public place. The possibility of setting up this feature to see a meaning whose strength lies precisely in a healthy tension between the state and established community. Here is the legislation of the School Council of Suzano (SP) and some aspects of our experience from the practice of teaching at a school in Rio das Pedras (SP). We see the nature of the legal meaning assigned to this place from the study of law, considering the municipal, regional and federal levels. In the sphere of Geography use the concepts of Space, Place and City, as issues that are dear to that science. We used the concept of Topofilia to see if this particular place is the development of an individual's sense of belonging, and how it unfolds in the dynamic implications of the operation of this instrument of popular participation in the formulation of public policy education. The project consists of a book-report on the street movie theaters in Brazil, which are increasingly scarce. This work shows the importance of taking a good organization of space for the improvement of urban public transport. The model of urban transport is used improperly aggravating factor that generates diseconomies to society. The reduction of the use of public transport, degradation of environmental conditions, chronic congestion, poor accessibility and high rates of traffic accidents are common in many cities. The case study will be done in Jundiaí - SP, where actions were taken to try to reverse this situation of crisis in urban transport, as the change in transport network system. Falling Man: A Literatura em busca de possíveis significados para um espaço vazio

September 11 has originated a wide range of artistic manifestations which have not only searched for plausible explanations for the tragedy, but also tried to review the events. In this sense, this paper aims at showing how a novel reevaluates this episode. The attacks made the United States experience a strong sense of vulnerability, triggering reactions from the American government, whose quick action was translated into a new national security strategy, associated with the war on terror. This paper analyzes the narrative strategies employed by the American author Don DeLillo in his novel Falling Man (2007) in order to reevaluate that tragedy. The debate of the topics is based on texts concerning the relationship between literature and history, postmodern fiction and issues on terrorism. This study contributes to enrich the discussion related to the events that led to the catastrophe and its aftermath, examining characters and groups linked to the September 11 terrorist attacks, revealing multiple truths subjected to social, ideological and historical conditions.

Nuclear Medicine is a medical modality of therapy and diagnostic imaging using unsealed radioactive sources for its purposes. This routine activity promotes the transit of radioactive sources for the area of installation, beyond the transit of patients injected with radioisotope, which also contribute to raising the radiometric level of environment. As a consequence, it has exposured workers and public individuals to the ionizing radiation. There are protective mechanisms of radiation exposure, personal protective equipments, and measurement planes established in standard measurement at certain points of the environment in order to identify any increase in radiometric levels and \ or contamination, but do not cover the entire space occupied by workers and patients. To accomplish with the individual dose limits established by the National Commission of Nuclear Energy, it is interesting if there is an individualized classification for each Nuclear Medicine service. This work aimed to promote an analysis of the radiometric level distribution across the extent of the Technical Nuclear Medicine Sector of Hospital of the Botucatu Medical School, and produce a spatial map to identify locations with higher exposure rate to the ionizing radiation, can be used as a risk map to assist the Occupationally Exposed Individuals (IOE). To perform the radiometric levels checking it was used a digital Geiger-Muller detector available in the sector, due to its practicality compared to other detectors. Measurements were carried out at four different times for all days of the week, at points strategically established to cover all the installation

Social Watch: espaço alternativo para a comunicação da sociedade civil global

The text aims to show how Social Watch alternative site contributes to the construction of world citizenship to publish proposals for non-governmental organizations (NGOs), identified with groups excluded from traditional means of mass communication. The structure of the site is analyzed and studied in depth one of its publications, the Bulletin of August 2014, using some resources from the methodology of the framing and content analysis. The analysis shows that, in fact, the site is presented as place where civil society can express themselves and collect public power projects and proposals to increase the global citizenship.

The theory of sexual selection states that individuals more capable of attracting, selecting and competing for partners are more successful on reproduction than the less fit individuals. Competition for sexual partners can be observed in different populations of humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae). These large cetaceans migrate seasonally from feeding areas, in high latitudes, to breeding areas, in low latitudes, where they spend the winter. During the breeding season females with and without calves are escorted by transient competitive groups of males. Seeking reproductive success in the same group, various males exhibit aggressive behaviors searching for proximity to the disputed female. Breeding areas are usually located in warm and shallow waters that provide greater security to newborn calves. The Abrolhos Bank, in the Bahia State, is the main breeding area of the species in Brazil. In this study, we used data collected in this region between 2003 and 2012. We tested the hypothesis that there is temporal fluctuation in the abundance of competitive groups and, thus, there is variation in the levels of competition among males during the breeding season. We expected to find higher competition at the beginning of the season since there are a large number of males competing for a small number of females available for mating, because some of them would still be pregnant with calves conceived on the previous year. As the pregnant females give birth to their calves and can again get into heat, the competition among males would be softened, represented by a smaller number of individuals in competitive groups and a larger number of groups sighted. To test this hypothesis we compared the number of individuals per group and number of groups sighted (response variables) between the beginning and the end of the reproductive season (explanatory variable) by using generalized linear models. Análise do processo de formação como mediadora entre o público e a arte

The proposed work is located in education field in exhibition spaces of art and seeks to analyze a process of formation as a mediator focusing on the public's relationship with art, taking into account the fact that often the general public does not dominate the codes of this area, being incumbent upon mediator introduce them. One of the main points to be analyzed is the impact that can be generated by the contact of the visitor with the mediator in the exhibition space, considering a spectrum of possibilities, where at one end focuses the belonging and in the other the symbolic violence. In this direction this research aims to build a relationship of emancipation and autonomy of both, the educator and the visitor. It is known that the concept of public is a generalization, therefore, the analysis of the mediation process, are having as support the experiences lived by the mediator, especially, in the relationship with the lay public. The locations of the experiences lived, were the SESC Pompéia and the Pavilion of the Bienal of São Paulo, different places, but both with the potential to generate reception and / or distances, shot through space (architecture), bodies, codes, accesses, works of art, repertoires, expographic and especially through the mobilization of educator front of all these issues. The cutting of the research covers the experience of the educator (as an intern and professional) in six exhibitions, in these two spaces, between the years 2010 to 2015.
