Diagnóstico socioambiental de um alojamento estudantil público e da comunidade do entorno: um estudo da relação entre a universidade e a sociedade

Dormitories are places offered by Brazilian public Universities to undergraduate students evaluated as socio-economically less favored aiming to guarantee the housing of the student in the locality they take a given undergraduate course, once housing is one the points which compose the tripod that supports the concept of student permanence, along with conditions of transportations and food. These places, however, present problems in their management, specially the ones related to social and environmental questions, caused by wrong attitudes and pre-concepts of their own residents, other students and the communities who live around them. So, this project aims to identify and analyze the socio-environmental conditions of a students’ dormitory located in Botucatu/SP which is supported by the Universidade Estadual Paulista “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” (Unesp) as well as the community that surrounds it. The data collecting is based on an exploratory research characterized for interviews that used semi-structured questionnaires and for the creation of a photography record of the region. The obtained data corroborated the tendency of an increasing gap between the Brazilian public universities and the society as well as to the disengagement of them and their students. This diagnosis has permitted to build proposals of educational interventions based on Permaculture, Agroecology and Critical Environmental Education to the improvement of the existing relationships among the students who live at the dormitory and among them and the local community. These interventions may be used as subsidies to the development of future research and extension projects to the local community

Nível de atividade física e composição corporal dos funcionários administrativos da Universidade Estadual Paulista - UNESP - Rio Claro

O sedentarismo é um problema que afeta milhões de pessoas em todo o mundo, e para vários autores a redução ou até mesmo a extinção deste comportamento inativo deve ser encarada como prioridade para elevar a qualidade de vida da população. Para isso, se faz necessário, definir o problema, identificando a prevalência deste estilo de vida, a população-alvo e as barreiras enfrentadas para que a mudança ocorra. Só assim, é possível implantar alternativas baseadas nas evidências concretas, englobando diferentes fatores e intervindo nos quatro domínios que contemplam a prática de atividade física. Desta forma, o objetivo do estudo foi analisar o nível de atividade física habitual dos funcionários administrativos (exceto docentes e trabalhadores de manutenção) da Unesp – Rio Claro, através do questionário Baecke adaptado por Florindo e colaboradores. . Além disso, medidas antropométricas foram coletadas para fornecimento de dados sobre a composição corporal dos mesmos. A partir das respostas dos questionários observou-se que a maioria dos funcionários é moderadamente ativa (58%), quando se trata do nível de atividade física total. O nível de atividade física de lazer é o maior responsável por aumentar o nível de atividade física habitual, no entanto menos de 10% dos sujeitos, cerca de 7 funcionários, foram considerados muito ativos neste domínio. Quanto à composição corporal, grande parte dos sujeitos apresenta-se com sobrepeso, estando com a média do IMC acima da população de Rio Claro. No nível de atividade de física de locomoção, mais de 60% ou aproximadamente 56 sujeitos foram identificados como insuficientemente ativos. Com relação ao gênero, as mulheres são mais inativas no deslocamento em relação aos homens. Melhor idade na rede: uma visão da inclusão digital do idoso : estudo do caso da Universidade Aberta à Terceira Idade da UNESP Bauru

In the information society, the use of Technologies has been incorporated to our quotidian. The use of personal computers and internet, however, does not reach to all the individuals, creating the problem of digital exclusion. Nowadays, many inclusion politics are being developed to diminish the digital abyss in society, in a way to enable a plural access to the internet. Between these initiatives, we highlight the projects of digital inclusion among the elderly, slice of the population that grows more each day and seek quality of life, social reinclusion and health. In this context, the open universities for the elderly bring to the aged courses and workshops, in order to encourage the activity in this age group. An example of this idea is the Unati of UNESP Bauru, that develops the project “Terceira Idade Digital”. Reflexões e observações sobre as novas diretrizes curriculares e a sua influência na formação inicial do professor na universidade

With reference to curricular changes proposed by the CNE Resolution 1 /2002 and CNE 2/2002 on Teacher Education in Basic Education teaching degree - this study aims to analyze the new professional profile proposed in curriculum pedagogy , Physical Education , Science Biology , Mathematics , Physics and Geography . Within the curriculum guidelines was observed in a more normative articulated curriculum, focused on action-reflection- action. A guided design in practical rationality and the skills set without breaking the commitment of the public university with emancipation and quality education . Although there is this understanding we must also attend to the care that must be given to the new guidelines , based on the same reveal great concern with vocational training , with its instrumentation , with the pragmatic and utilitarian dimension of the training process . It is noteworthy that throughout the twentieth century in Brazil , where he fought for educational policies that were to solidify the construction of teacher identity , but the gains have largely remained restricted to the issue of educational reforms and a roster of disciplines , called pedagogical varnish . Therefore, this work is to deepen this thematic perspective , studying the identity of the teacher in the new curriculum design presented by undergraduate courses . Movimento estudantil: a juventude brasileira em 1968 e em 2008 a partir das ocupações da Universidade de Brasília

The hypothesis guiding this work is that the student movement of 1968, inserted into a scene of great social movements contrary to the present political system, showed great expression in its demonstrations even considering the fact that in a dictatorship there was significant intolerance of divergent views to the military regime, which, of the student movement of 2008, inserted into a scene of mobilizations contrary to the educational system and the corruption that permeated it. The aim of this study is to investigate the myths that permeate the image of students, through a comparison between the Brazilian student movement, highlighting the students at the University of Brasilia from 1968 to 2008, with the specific objective of analyzing if the student movement lost strength of mobilizing in support of their fight flags. The question may be answered from the youth of the 1960s characterized by revolutionary, in which the possible advances and retreats performed in 40 years of history of the student movement, which seems to have lost its revolutionary feature

Sexualidade e gênero: processos emancipatórios na relação entre universidade e comunidade

This article presents and analyzes the configuration of a project of university extension, developed in partnership with public schools, which has as themes sexuality and gender issues. We seek to understand to which extent sexuality and gender issues contributes to the continuity of the trio teaching / research / extension, while acting as promoter of knowledge of emancipation of those envolved (under graduates, faculty and the community). We based our presuppositions on action research, with document analysis and questionnaires responded to by participants in the project during the period 2005 to 2011 as the instrument of data collection. We constituted that formative processes that disrupt the predominant perspectives in the educational processes of a stereotypical, biologizing and heteronormative nature of sexuality and gender issues were favoured. Moreover, the experience of inseparability of teaching/research/extension was favoured, based on the understanding of knowledge as something constructed in and through social relations.

Interações entre universidade e sociedade em Axixá do Tocantins: uma proposta de ação educativa como passo inicial para enfrentamento de problemas socioambientais

Contextualiza e descreve o trabalho desenvolvido pela equipe da UNESP de Araraquara no município de Axixá do Tocantins durante o Projeto Rondon. Apresenta proposta multidisciplinar desenvolvida e voltada para os anos finais do Ensino Fundamental e Ensino Médio, entendendo-se que a rede municipal de ensino constitui-se num espaço estratégico para desencadear processos formativos que possam atingir, direta ou indiretamente, o público escolar e população em contato com esta. Focando a Serra do Estrondo, patrimônio natural local, a proposta objetiva a articulação de conhecimentos teóricos e práticos a partir de conteúdos relacionados à temática ambiental para enfrentamento de problemas socioambientais.

Desafios da universidade pública na hipermodernidade

This article supposes that the Brazilian public university has dilemmas and challenges due to a more complex process that affects the whole society: Brazil has to deal with specific problems of its modernization process, at the same time that it is under pressure by the new challenges that are resulted from the globalization process. Based on a specialized literature, the aim of this article is to show how this interweaving modern/hypermodern process is challenging Brazilian public university toward more and more complex and diversified demands.

Educação a distância: um estudo analítico das políticas governamentais com foco no projeto da Universidade Aberta do Brasil

The present study at the doctoral level, is in the initial phase of the Program Graduate School of Education UNESP, SP-Araraquara campus. That makes an analysis of government policies in distance education system through the Open University of Brazil (UAB). We present in this moment, the historical background of the creation and expansion of the system of the Open University of Brazil with emphasis on policies of expansion of higher education and also the degree in pedagogy courses offered by the partner universities of the University System in Brazil Open southeast. Among the main objectives of the study is to compare the Brazilian government policies of expansion of higher education with the management and characteristics of undergraduate courses in pedagogy. Partial results indicate a total 51 universities that offer degree courses in pedagogy at UAB system in Brazil, including 12 institutions in the Southeast.

O acesso à universidade pública no Brasil e a questão social: uma análise dos dados do relatório do vestibular da Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio Mesquita Filho UNESP

This work has as a central concern in analyze the causes of the still limited access of young Brazilians to public higher education in socioeconomic and cultural.In Brazil, onçy 14,4% of the young between 18 and 24 years old attend this educational level.If we consider that the public university offer just 1/4 of the vacancies, can be affirmed that this institutions are not able to attend neither 4% of the young between 18 and 24.Brazil shows,in this level of education,a lower access that most of its neighbors: Argentina(40%), Venezuela(26%), Chile(20%),Bolivia(20%).In this work were analyzed the data reports of entrance exam of Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp) entre 2004 e 2009,prepared by Fundaçao para o Vestibular da Universidade Estadual Paulista(Vunesp). In this analysis,can be noted the influence of some aspects socioeconomic and cultural related to possibilities os the young acces to public univercity. Stand out among these: family income,the possibility to dadicate only to studies and attend preparatory courses,as well as the parents level of education.
