Estudo da presença e importância atribuída aos animais nos artigos apresentados nos anais do Encontro Pesquisa em Educação Ambiental (EPEA)

Together with the increase of environmental degradation in the past few decades, the environmental education (EE) has emerged and grown all around the world. It is worrying the frequent assigning of stereotypes to the animals and the cases of disrespect to them. For these matters it was studied the presence and importance attributed to animals in the annals of six editions of an event of great significance in the field of Environmental Education, the meetings Pesquisa em Educação Ambiental (EPEAs). The animals were chosen for deserving more attention in the preservationist context, besides allowing the use of a great extent of activities in EE, regarding scholar and non-scholar organizations. The articles that presented descriptors related to animals in the title, keywords or abstract were analyzed in depth and characteristics such as segmentation of the studied population, locations where jobs tend to be performed, prevailing aspects and didactic material production, among others, were investigated and compared. It was also verified which current trends on Environmental Education currents are more frequently presented in the EPEAs articles, in order to map the Environmental Education in Brazil in the past few years, using as a basis an important theoretical framework in the area. Through the use of descriptors it was possible to define the articles that would be analyzed in depth, which is less than 6% of the total work published and represents that, until the sixth edition, the EPEAs have a minor amount of works concerning animal matters. In many of these articles animals were superficially worked, which demonstrates the necessity of approaches not only involving more the animals, but also addressing the complex environmental matter. O preconceito como obstáculo à educação sexual: reflexões a partir de uma perspectiva ética

This paper developed a reflection about problems related to the establishment of ethical principles that guide the sexual education aiming at emancipation. Our theoretical framework is the Critical Theory of Society, in particular texts by T. W. Adorno on training, prejudice and education. It is understood that numerous difficulties are related to the achievement of an emancipatory education, and such difficulties are even greater when it comes to sex education since it is an issue that still raises irrational fears on educators, and is absent from the training they received. Following Adorno, it is understood that the current formation favors the development of subjects inclined to prejudice, and that an emancipatory sexual education involves a critique to the conditions under which such formation occurs and, at the same time, a continuous reflection about the relations between the desires and the social possibilities of their realization.

A educação de adultos como socialização: Hannah Arendt versus Paulo Freire

This paper analyzes data under diametrically opposed theoretical frameworks. Encouraged by the sudden and recent popularity of Hannah Arendt, we decided to submit the data of a already presented dissertation to a “new” reference, extracted from Arendt’s famous text on the education crisis in the United States in the 1950. Data had been interpreted in the light of Paulo Freire’s epistemology. In further analyzes, from Arendt, our interpretations gained even more strength. However, in the final comparison between the two thinkers stand out irreconcilable differences: For Arendt, it is impossible to educate adults and the world of education should be detached from the world of politics, since the responsibility of the educator is based on tradition and authority while for Freire is indeed possible to educate adults and the responsibility of the educator – as in Sartre – leads to freedom. Our conclusion is to be possible the social education of adults if we educate ourselves with them in a dialogic relationship.
