In search of Brazil's entry into modernity, educators pledged to develop mechanisms for the construction of the brazilian man, and modern. Thales Castanho de Andrade was one of those educators who found in the educational destination book this possibility. This article is concerned to examine the ways that are served by reading books models of urban life to cite the country life. These books are part of the Coleção de leitura escolar: série Thales de Andrade. The books carry a model school reading ideologized as they meet, in addition to teaching reading, build civility of the countryside, through images or words, or the organization that goes through all the books of the collection.

This study was aimed to analyze a procedure that makes the description of pictures in printed text from a book that promotes accessibility for blind people. In addition, the study was aimed to analyze the reformulations suggested by the judges and the index of agreement between researcher and judges. The descriptions were submitted to judges to evaluate the content of the material. The results were obtained through the analysis of two assessments: 1) agreement rate ‒ between the researcher and judges A and B, and between judge A and judge B and 2) analysis of the suggested reformulation. In quantitative terms, the results indicated that the material described achieved a high reliability. In qualitative terms, the reliability achieved represents the quality of the material offered, with well structured descriptions where writing meaning is equivalent to image information, fulfilling the purpose to present in printed text the elements represented in the pictures, effectively conveying their meaning.

Aiming it contribute to discussions on teaching and learning of reading and writing, is presented, in the form of critical review, the analysis of textual configuration of the book Será que fui eu?, by Alzira Silveria. This analysis was developed based on the assumption that reading and producing written texts are specifically human activities whose function and importance beyond the boundaries of the school and change ways of thinking, feeling, will and act, promoting qualitative changes in process of human development and providing active participation in the public world of written culture, and therefore in society and history. This is the main “life lesson” that the author of the book teaches all interested in the subject, especially to school teachers responsible for teaching reading and writing, which can only be successful if and when they understand themselves as historical and social people who, also experience reading and producing written texts, not only as necessary acturties for their teaching performance, but rather as essential activities for human development, of people who are author of their own speech frow and about their life and history.

Abusive consumption of alcohol leads to several negative consequences to health and quality of life, as it increases the frequency of diseases that cause death or functional disabilities. The rates of patients admitted to hospital due to physical problems stemming from alcohol abuse are high. This study aimed at identifying patients according to variables age, gender and education level as well as at evaluating the prevalence of CAGE-positive patients and morbidity due to CID-10 (International Classification of Diseases) by the World Health Organization. It is a cross-sectional, observational, exploratory, descriptive and quantitative study. It was conducted at the Botucatu School of Medicine University Hospital (HC) from July to September 2010, at the Internal Medicine ward. This ward aggregates 5 specialties, namely, Cardiology, Hematology, General Medicine, Nephrology and Gastroclinic. Presently, it has 36 beds, of which four are for Intensive Care Therapy (ICT). Three hundred and ten medical charts were analyzed for identification of morbidities and of variables age, gender and schooling. A closed semistructured questionnaire including, among other questions, the CAGE test was applied to each individual. The CAGE test is a questionnaire that comprises four questions and considers that one who answers two or more of such questions affirmatively is a suspected case of alcoholism. The total population studied included 310 patients. Indexes of 60% (186) male and of 40% (124) female patients were found. As regards age range, a population with a higher prevalence of individuals from 51 to 70 years old (41%) was observed. The main education indexes were: incomplete Elementary School: 23.22% (72), complete Elementary School: 21.61% (67), incomplete Secondary School: 18.40% (57) and Illiteracy: 17.74% (55). The translation project of some short stories of the book Piccoli equivoci senza importanza, written by the Italian writer Antonio Tabucchi, was performed during the academic years. This thesis target is to analyze grammatical and stylistic issues of the short stories; to achieve this goal, parts of the original texts and their respective translations were used. The grammar section approaches important aspects as idioms, false cognates and different verb regencies between Portuguese and Italian. The stylistic part focuses on Tabucchi´s choices regarding the narrator, focalization, types of speech and interior monologues in his texts; these options characterize the Italian writer´s style and make his stories plots intense. As a conclusion it can be noticed that this work is relevant to give a forward step in the Italian literature studies field, because it contributes to an important author style study and provides the analysis of which choices compound the text and the effects they cause

This paper relates the concepts of brand management in the educational context of Brazilian higher education to demonstrate how can we do a reconstruction and the importance of establishing a solid relationship with the public of an organization to become loyal to your brand . The reflections in this project seek to demonstrate how PR professionals can plan the reconstruction process of a brand. To achieve the ultimate goal of the project seeks to introduce the concepts of branding, PR and stakeholders in order to highlight the new challenges that organizations face today. To illustrate the concepts aborted, the procedures suggested for the reconstruction of a brand are used in the case study of the Centro Universitário da FEI. For this, it is a diagnosis of the organization and subsequently suggested a process for strategic rebrading, as well as the association of a brand management with public relations

Embora garantida por leis, a Educação Física enquanto prática pedagógica em muitas escolas ainda baseia-se em uma concepção tradicional relacionada ao ensino tecnicista de algumas modalidades esportivas, com caráter de reprodução dos movimentos técnicos. O basquetebol, como as demais modalidades esportivas na escola, possuía durante o período esportivista características nítidas deste período. Atualmente, com as novas propostas pedagógicas tanto da Educação Física escolar quanto da pedagogia do esporte, o ensino do basquetebol pode estar atrelado com a concepção de cultura corporal de movimento no qual a modalidade não deve ser abordada somente de maneira procedimental (o saber fazer) e o aluno deve que ser considerado como sujeito ativo do processo. Um dos caminhos para propor a relação entre cultura corporal de movimento e o ensino do basquetebol é por meio da implementação de um livro didático, construído a partir pressupostos teóricos, Galatti (2006) e Rodrigues (2009), os quais realizaram propostas que melhoram a compreensão dos conteúdos referentes ao basquetebol. Portanto, o objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar o processo de ensinoaprendizagem de um grupo de alunos do sétimo ano do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola pública estadual do município de Rio Claro, SP, a partir da aplicação de um livro didático constituído de conteúdos referentes ao basquetebol atrelados a perspectiva da cultura corporal de movimento. Para isso foi aplicado um instrumento avaliativo com todos os alunos participantes antes e depois da implementação das aulas, analisando-se também os livros respondidos pelos alunos e, finalmente, avaliando a aprendizagem deles por meio de um grupo focal. It is intended, by using the theoretical frameworks of Cultural Anthropology and Social Sciences, determine how to process social relations as a result of identity processes in the university environment. The study shows relevance in the field of Anthropology and Public Relations as it undertakes to identify issues that may guide the actions and perceptions of society and the professionals themselves regarding the activity, in addition to showing a socio-historical overview of the profession. Thus, it can contribute both in the scientific realm , revealing the identity of Public Relations through anthropological knowledge, as in the social sphere, providing the public relations have a broader horizon in relation to their activity and their recognition in the social context , allowing develop identity strategies and contributing to the profession will become even more important for individuals and organizations that make up society
