Baseia-se em uma pesquisa interinstitucional que focaliza o âmbito mais amplo em que são formuladas e implementadas as políticas de formação de professores no Estado de São Paulo. Tem por objetivo contribuir para a elucidação das forças presentes em movimentos de reforma curricular nos cursos de licenciatura, cotejando dados e aspectos socioculturais e institucionais circundantes. A análise incide sobre projetos pedagógicos de dois cursos de Letras de duas universidades públicas paulistas. Essas instituições desenvolveram, nos últimos anos, projetos ou ações de formação de professores para a escola básica, e é nesse contexto que se inserem os projetos pedagógicos analisados, que são tomados como exemplos de caminhos diferenciados que as universidades traçam, influenciadas pela história de cada instituição. O procedimento de pesquisa adotado foi a análise documental e o conceito de currículo em processo orientou as reflexões desenvolvidas. Reafirma-se, como em outros estudos, que a necessária integração entre saberes pedagógicos e saberes provenientes da área de referência continua sendo tarefa difícil, que as circunstâncias na criação dos cursos e a formação superposta deixou suas marcas nas instituições e que as tentativas para superá-la constituem exemplos esparsos e não modelos generalizados, o que ressalta a relevância da continuidade das pesquisas sobre o currículo dos cursos de licenciatura.

Herbal medicines have been widely used around the world since ancient times. The advancement of phytochemical and phytopharmacological sciences has enabled elucidation of the composition and biological activities of several medicinal plant products. The effectiveness of many species of medicinal plants depends on the supply of active compounds. Most of the biologically active constituents of extracts, such as flavonoids, tannins, and terpenoids, are highly soluble in water, but have low absorption, because they are unable to cross the lipid membranes of the cells, have excessively high molecular size, or are poorly absorbed, resulting in loss of bioavailability and efficacy. Some extracts are not used clinically because of these obstacles. It has been widely proposed to combine herbal medicine with nanotechnology, because nano-structured systems might be able to potentiate the action of plant extracts, reducing the required dose and side effects, and improving activity. Nanosystems can deliver the active constituent at a sufficient concentration during the entire treatment period, directing it to the desired site of action. Conventional treatments do not meet these requirements. The purpose of this study is to review nanotechnology- based drug delivery systems and herbal medicines.

Common among children, vocal symptoms are a cause of concern for parents who seek elucidation of their diagnosis and treatment. Vocal nodules are the major cause of dysphonias in children and are related to vocal abuse. We conducted a literature review considering clinical, physiopathological, epidemiological, and histological aspects of vocal nodules, as well as diagnostic methods, highlighting the main studies addressing this issue. The controversial points of treatments were also discussed.

In this paper we present ongoing research in which we approach the regulatory role of language in role play in children aged six and seven. In research, we seek an understanding of the relationship between language, ownership and complexity of the children's game. The hypothesis guiding the research is that the dialogical relations between children and adults and among children, while playing, contribute to children's learning game. Procedures are being used interpretive ethnographic research that focuses on the human meaning of social relations, waged by the subjects in a particular historical context and its elucidation and exposition by one researcher. This approach allows closer studies of Vygotsky and Bakhtin scholars of language that emphasize the regulatory role of language in human relationships and value the dialogic exchange between researcher and researched; active subjects of the research process. The data were produced by means of observation and interview, in a field diary records, photographs and audio recordings. They are being screened in thematic groups and analyzed using interpretative narration. The participants were two teachers and two classes of the first year of an Elementary school (EMEF) School of Municipal Elementary School Crane, State of Sao Paulo, totaling 45 subjects. Bearing in mind the above assumptions, are presented and analyzed data that allow to anticipate some results.

Bioactive components in rice vary depending on the variety and growing condition. Fat-soluble components such as gamma-oryzanol, tocopherols, tocotrienols, carotenoids, and fatty acids were analyzed in brown, sugary brown, red, and black rice varieties using established high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and GC methodologies. In addition, these colored rice varieties were further analyzed using a high-resolution liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) (LTQ-Orbitrap XL) to identify the [M-H](-) ions of gamma-oryzanol, ranging from m/z 573.3949 to 617.4211. The highest content of tocopherols (alpha-, 1.5; gamma-, 0.5 mg/100 g) and carotenoids (lutein 244; trans-beta carotene 25 mu g/100 g) were observed in black rice; tocotrienols (alpha-, 0.07; gamma-, 0.14 mg/100 g) in red rice, and gamma-oryzanol (115 mg/100 g) in sugary brown rice. In all colored rice varieties, the major fatty acids were palmitic (16:0), oleic (18:1n-9), and linoleic (18:2n-6) acids. When the gamma-oryzanol components were further analyzed by LC-MS/MS, 3, 10, 8, and 8 triterpene alcohols or sterol ferulates were identified in brown, sugary brown, red, and black rice varieties, respectively. Such structural identification can lead to the elucidation of biological function of each component at the molecular level. Consumption of colored rice rich in beneficial bioactive compounds may be a useful dietary strategy for achieving optimal health.
