Trabalhadores públicos e sindicalismo no Brasil: O caso dos Trabalhadortes Públicos do Judiciário Brasileiro

The goal is to expose some analytical elements on labor and unions of public employees in Brazil, highlighting the case of public employees of the judiciary. At first, we discuss the sociological character of the public proletariat and its dimension in Brazil. Then we discuss the structure of Brazilian union and its corporatist bias. Finally, we we expose the precariousness of work of public sector workers in Brazil in the 2000s.

Análise de ocorrências dos impactos pluviais na área urbana de Rio Claro (SP)

The Urbanization is a notable process in our society, being part of it since around 3500 BC in Mesopotamia, currently Iraq area. Since the Industrial Revolution, cities had a significant increase in their growth and began to concentrate increasingly labor and capital. Brazil, despite having had a late industrialization, also had a high population growth in cities, especially in the XVIII century, which were not provided with any kind of planning that targets the ordering and implementation of the urban essential apparatus. Therefore, Brazilian cities started to exhibit countless structural and environmental problems. Associated with inadequate infrastructure, the modifications in the urban atmosphere, like increased heat, air pollution and increased rainfall and storm frequency, cause different types of impacts in cities. Among the most worrisome are those from the intense rain, which cause human and material damage. The city of Rio Claro (SP) can be considered an example of this reality. Thereby, the objective of this study was to analyze the impacts on the population originated from rainfall in the urban area during the period 2005-2010, by the mapping of events and analysis of the active atmospheric systems. The information of the events were collected in the Fire Department and the Press and the synoptic maps were obtained in the library of INPE, in Cachoeira Paulista (SP) and in the site of the Navy of Brazil. The data showed that among 247 occurrences, during the six years, 233 occurred in the spring-summer period. Moreover, after finalizing the maps, it was found the locations considered critical regarding the frequency of occurrences, as: Visconde do Rio Claro Avenue and central area of the city, both with a total of 23 occurrences; Jardim Inocoop, with 20; Tancredo Neves Avenue, with 12 and Vila Paulista, with 10 occurrences. Polimorfismo do gene IL6 candidato à predisposição à rotura prematura de membranas pré-termo e ao trabalho de parto pré-termo

Introduction: Preterm Labor (PTL) and Preterm Premature Rupture of Membranes (PPROM) cause severe complications for both mother and fetus. Among the risk factors associated with preterm labor and PPROM, genetic predisposition has been gaining importance. However, the association between polymorphic genes and the pathogenesis of PTL and PPROM remains elusive. A better understanding of the genetic mechanisms underlying these adverse pregnancy outcomes may enable the identification of high risk patients and allow new approaches to minimize the deleterious effects of prematurity. Aim: To determine the association between maternal IL-6 polymorphism gene and the occurrence of PTL and PPROM. Patients and Methods: The study included 109 patients with prior history of PL and/or PPROM that delivered prematurely at the Obstetrical Unit Care of Botucatu Medical School, UNESP between 2003 and 2012. The control group consisted of 68 patients that delivered at term, matched to the case group by age, ethnicity, and sex of the newborn. Oral swabs (Cath-AllTM – Epicentre Biotechnologies) were collected for analysis of genetic polymorphisms by PCR. Statistical tests were performed to compare genotype, clinical and socio-demographic data from the groups. A p-value of <0.05 was considered significant. Results: The sociodemographic characteristics in both groups were homogeneously distributed. The frequency of the polymorphic allele C, associated with less production of IL-6, and therefore thought to be protective against PTL and PPROM, was 32,5% in the study group and 30,9% in the control group, without statistically significant differences. Conclusion: Considering the sample size included in this study, the frequency of the mutated allele is similar in pregnant women who delivered at term and gestational complications as PTL and PPROM

Condomínio residenciais fechados: um estudo de caso no município de Itu-SP

Since the middle of the XX century, observed a guided development in capitalism and globalization. In this context, a new way of thinking and producing dwellings, closed horizontal residential condominiums, with its beginnings in the United States. Currently, these also appear as a trend in Brazil. Their deployment has generated both social and spatial problems, since the production and consumption of urban space are given in different ways in different social classes. This process began in the 1970s and was unique to metropolitan areas until the 1980s, when it began to achieve medium-sized cities. Thus, highlighting some points, such as the production and consumption of urban space and the construction of condominiums in average Brazilian cities, this paper aims to describe and analyze the dynamics of residential condominiums in the city of Itu (SP)

Basquetebol X temas transversais: a produção de material didático audiovisual para a Educação Física escolar

This study aimed, first, produce a kind of educational materials in audiovisual format, to the Physical Education, addressing the Transversal Themes in view of the basketball. The themes chosen were Cultural Plurality, addressing the basketball in a wheelchair, and Labor and Consumer Affairs, addressing the marketing and exploitation of labor force that the company is Nike. There is no doubt the importance of media production in contemporary society, as one of its main languages, but of little relevance in the school environment, especially in the area of Physical Education. In a second phase aimed at evaluating the feasibility of this material both as a teaching strategy, such as content of learning lessons. The evaluation was made through a discussion in the form of focus groups with 10 students from 9 th grade of elementary school. The results showed that despite an initial rejection of the material as a teaching strategy because of the history that Physical Education has for several years, students were open to new ways of learning. Since the results on the material, such as learning content, showed that the videos were able to address and the Transversal Themes and meet the need for procedural content with the proposed activities. With this, we realize that students are willing to discuss matters that are not always addressed, but now, with the creation of national curriculum standards should be reflected in the classroom

As relações públicas e a gestão da comunicação integrada nas organizações resilientes do século xxi: uma análise dos meios de comunicação da ONG Periferia Legal

The implications of modernity and globalization stimulated the establishment of a new type of organization. Resilient organizations, as they will be called, representing the twenty-first century and are aligned with the social, political and economic context for their adaptability and flexibility. The study of the case will be the communication of the NGO Periferia Legal, also linked to the plane of the creative economy because of the intangible asset it produces. The study will be focused on the ways which public relations can help in the development of the NGO by analyzing their media. Thus, the three fronts of communication from the NGO (external, internal and institutional) will be analyzed through observations and interviews and their channels are categorized into: inefficient, low efficiency , average efficiency and efficient. The media will be key to understanding the phenomenon and the degree of efficiency will be marked as it achieves the proposed and designed objectives by the project itself - through the mission and vision of the NGO - using communication. In this way, the study seeks to understand the characteristics of resilient organizations from the standpoint of public relations

A Globalização e as diferenças interculturais em uma multinacional: caso IBM Brasil

O presente trabalho procura entender como a globalização, através da diversidade cultural, pode interferir na vida profissional das pessoas. Tendo como objeto de estudo as disparidades culturais encontradas na IBM Brasil, o trabalho apresenta conceitos da globalização e indaga suas principais consequências na multinacional em questão. Busca identificar as mudanças necessárias no processo de adequação às diferenças culturais entre países e pessoas, entender como as diferenças interculturais podem afetar a vida dos funcionários e como eles aprenderam a lidar com essas diferenças. De modo geral, procura identificar se a globalização fez com que os profissionais se adequassem às diferenças intercontinentais ou se a própria globalização selecionou os profissionais mais adequados ao mercado global

Players, Mao II e Falling Man: O terror em três versões (publicado em 2014)

This paper aims at analyzing the different approaches to terror in the novels Players (1977), Mao II (1991) and Falling Man (2007), by the American writer Don DeLillo. In Players, terror is shown as something attractive and exciting to a character who leads a very tedious personal and professional life; in Mao II, it is connected to the kidnapping of a poet and the text brings up relevant debates focusing on the contrast related to the power of novelists and terrorists in society; and in Falling Man, the author reviews the tragedy of September 11, in an attempt to try to understand the reasons why the attacks happened. The novels show terrorist actions connected to historical processes and also to the present form of capitalism and globalization. Theoretical texts by Bauman (1998), Eagleton (2005), Freitas (1989), Fraser (2000) will be used to discuss the issues addressed in this paper.
