Longitudinal evaluation of fluoride levels in nails of 18-30-month-old children that were using toothpastes with 500 and 1100 mu g F/g

ObjectivesThis study aimed to evaluate the fluoride concentration in the fingernails and toenails of children aged 18-30months during use of fluoride-containing toothpastes supplemented with calcium glycerophosphate (CaGP) or sodium trimetaphosphate (TMP).MethodsAccording to the toothpaste used, children (n=56) were randomly assigned into three groups: 500gF/g with 1% TMP, 500gF/g with 0.25% CaGP, and 1100gF/g. Fingernails and toenails were collected monthly over a period of 330days, from the beginning of toothpaste use. Fluoride concentration in the water consumed by the volunteers and fluoride intake from diet and toothpaste were also determined. Fluoride analyses were performed with the electrode after hexamethyldisiloxane-facilitated diffusion or by the direct method, according to the samples. Data passed normality and homoscedasticity tests and were analyzed by 2-way analysis of variance (anova) and 1-way anova followed by Student-Newman-Keuls test (P<0.05).ResultsFluoride levels in the fingernails and toenails as well as fluoride intake from toothpaste were similar for the groups treated with 500gF/g with 1% TMP and 500gF/g with 0.25% CaGP toothpastes, but significantly lower than the 1100 gF/g group (P<0.05). No significant differences were noted among the groups regarding fluoride intake from diet and that by water consumed by the volunteers (P>0.05).ConclusionThe results of the longitudinal study suggest that the level of fluoride present in nails was lower with the use of toothpastes with a low fluoride concentration.

O eterno feminino: arquétipos literários em Mujeres de Eduardo Galeano

Le champ littéraire est plein d’oeuvres qui remettent à des mythes. L’ensemble de récits Mujeres, de Eduardo Galeano, a comme thématique la femme et il est composé par des micro-contes, genre narratif qui promeut une condensation maximale d’eléments thématiques et structuraux. Il s’agit des descriptions littéraires où la synthèse est placée ou même niveau que le lyrisme. Ayant pour objectif d’analiser la nature archétypique des mythes sur la féminité, nous avons travaillé spécifiquement les contes de Mujeres où se reconstruisent poétiquement des mythes de la féminité. Méthodologiquement, notre notre étude a pour base la mythocritique et la théorie des structures anthropologiques de l’imaginaire ídéalisées par Gilbert Durand. En partant de ces bases, nous avons réalisé l’analyse des récits qui s’articulent en notre corpus, ayant pour but, celui d’identifier les divers artifices narratifs spécifiques qui y opèrent. Par le moyen des mythèmes présents dans les récits, nous avons révélé les structures archétypiques du texte et nous avons constaté comment elles s’édifient littérairement. En outre, nous avons élucidé la teneur de la représentativité archétypique de la feminité inhérente aux récits et finalement, nous avons rassemblé les situations et les combinatoires qui existent dans l’ensemble de microrécits, traçant les connexions possibles qui y existent. This cycle is formed by the following succession of facies: non-marine (N), transitional-coarse texture, and marine-fine texture; The objective of this study have been members of the sandstones and Triumph Siderópolis, seconded by rare calcareous sandstones and very thin limb Paraguaçu. Through analysis of facies in wells testified by CPRM, it was possible to group on facies successions and set the standard stacking. The Triunfo Member consists of three cycles of facies, lithology whose standard indicates a vertical arrangement ''type'' tuning up, other words, a component sandy bottom in the form of '' box'', followed by components sandy-clayey and clayey-carbonaceous (1st and 2nd cycle) and / or shale and limestone (3rd cycle), represented by the base member Paraguaçu. The first cycle only occurs on NF-5 wells and NF-6 in the form of Onlap channel dug in post-Itararé group. The cycle II also reaches wells NF-4 and NF-3 to the north, while the cycle III reaches the southern area, well NF-9. The member Paraguaçu, well PP-25 is predominantly clay-síltico, also stand out limestones and sandstones. The limestones are not coastal marine organisms probably connected with the algae and cyanobacteria, the sandstones are fine-textured, very thin and coastal deposition environment. The member Siderópolis, well NF-2 consists of a sandstone fluvial-estuarine deployed in the valley section, and succeeded by sandstones and siltstones bioturbed, they have linked the transgression of the Fm.
