This study quantifies fifth year medical students' knowledge after their participation in a basic clinical integration activity of psychiatry and pharmacology and investigates their opinions on the importance of the activity. A quali-quantitative study was performed using pre- and post-test assessment (multiple choice) and linguistic content analysis using the Discourse of the Collective Subject (DCS) technique. A significant increase in the percentage of correct answers in the post-test assessment was found compared to pre-test (p <0.001). The central ideas obtained from the DCS content analysis were: very relevant activity; expansion of the activity to other internships; difficulty in basic disciplines; application of cognitive assessment; and teacher's active participation in discussions. These results suggest that integration between pharmacology and the practical intern activities in psychiatry allowed pharmacological concepts to be broadened, rendering the learning meaningful. Although students identified the need for better organization of the activity, its the level of acceptance was verbalised through the suggestion that it could be extended to the other fifth year internships.

The aim of this paper is to present and discuss Fred Dretske's (1995) suggestion for analysis of the problem of qualia. Such a problem was acknowledged following Thomas Nagel's discussion in his classical paper What is it like to be a bat. In the paper, Nagel (1974) postulates the impossibility of knowing aspects of human experience from a third-person perspective. He considers that qualitative aspects of a subject's experience, fundamental for characterization of qualia, would be lost during the course of objective descriptions of it. Based on his Representational Thesis of Mind, Dretske argues that if we were to consider mind to be the representational aspect of the brain, the nature of qualia would thus be representational. In this context, mental facts related to experiences would be representational facts: if we were to know the nature of these representational facts, we would also know the experience the system represents. Given this understanding, we discuss to what extent the Dretskean proposal constitutes (or not) an alternative for the problem of qualia.

This is a reflexive analysis of the Voice Seminaries at PUC SP, realized between 1993 and 2009. The analysis points out to the involvement of the organizers, talkers and participants with the theme “occupational voice”.Each year, the suggestion of subjects occured methodically, conducted by events and by the direction of the late year seminary, or stimulated by a new proposition. During these years, it was observed the effort made towards a social modification, in this case, a government recognition of the vocal disorder as a desease related to working conditions of determined professional categories which use voice intensily.

This paper aims to analyze some aspects of Mao Tse -Tung’s revolutionary ideas, specially those related to his Organizational Theory and Peasantry. We use some approaches to interact with his ways of thinking, like an interlocution with some of his texts, as also dialogues with some analysts; and how his political ideals progressed in the Chinese scenery, redeeming several categories of country laborers, peasants. Nevertheless, this work also aims to evaluate the role of the Chinese Army in the process; not only because its creation started with the peasants, but also because the Institution was a crucial instrument for achieving the victory of the Revolution. Through its context, this essay is also a suggestion, as a component to be considered in this line of thinking.
