Induction heating is a process closely linked to the concepts of heat transfer. It also covers electromagnetic induction and effect of film. Many companies use this technology in their processes due to the high accuracy that can be obtained at temperatures induced. However the dominance of this technology is not common among Brazilian industries. This involves complex systems of equation and heat exchange in transient conduction, and convection and radiation losses. With this work we seek the ability to analyze which parameters influence over this process and the order of magnitude of time required for heating a cylindrical part

This study is about a heating line that uses thermal oil. It is located in a facility that produces interlayers used in cars windshields. A plastic resin is melted and is sent to a matrix called DIE where the interlayers are produced. The DIE needs to receive heat from the circulation of thermal oil in four different regions of its interior, to ensure the correct thickness of the interlayer. The thermal energy is provided by electric heaters and the flow of thermal oil is impelled by four mechanically sealed centrifugal pumps (one per region). The key point of this study is the fact that these four pumps of the system have reported successive failures in the mechanical seals. Apparently, a poorly designed project has burdened the system intermittently. The pumps operation condition is located in a region of low efficiency, according to the characteristic curves. This fact is the source of the noticeable reduced time between failures. Changes in the configuration of the facility and in the number of pumps will be proposed, aiming to achieve higher operational efficiency. The proposals will be mathematically analyzed according to the Hydraulic Institute criteria. At the same time, we will also keep focus on an in-depth study of a heating system structure, starting with a detailed approach for each component and discussion about its real need and economic viability. At the end of this paper it is shown that the gain in efficiency achieved with the new proposed configuration reflects not only in the reduction of maintenance costs, but also a potential improvement in energy efficiency. It is shown that these two aspects are closely related and together form the basis for the design of a reliable and efficient pumping system

This research is aimed at discussing the ways in which social agents influence global warming, analyzing the discourse of social actors involved in the debate on climate change, since there is a wide divergence in the scientific community about how man is able to modify the climate on a global scale. In fact the debate that permeates the issues beyond the limits of science and enter into a political-economic framework that takes extraordinary proportions. This emphasis can be very unscientific in the fundamental design concepts, or even creating a trivialization of the media. The main way to convey these concepts is to disclose them in the media, but the media has enormous power to transform the concepts and often manipulate the news by creating a common sense goes against the interests of the scientific community. Thus was conducted extensive research in major newspapers and magazines that move in the country. We surveyed the first two papers which were: “Folha de S. Paulo” and “O Estado de S. Paulo”, during the period from January 2000 to December 2008, totaling 3285 units for the newspaper Folha and 2555 for the newspaper Estadão. Subsequently a survey was made of data published in two journals that move at the national level, and these are the magazines VEJA and ÉPOCA for the same period. By performing these steps, it was concluded that several factors involving the media and climate change, such as topic relevance, types of approaches, perspectives of analysis, the staff development, supplies, among other factors of utmost importance for building news. As a result we can say that the media in fulfilling its role of mediator scientific, disclosing only a vision that permeates the scientific debate. Vocal warm-ups are essential for the technical training of the singer, for good speech and performance, as well as essential for good vocal health and a long-lasting career. Objective: To analyze the theory and practice of the vocal warm-up in classical singing, from the perspective of different professionals in the voice field including: teachers, speech therapists and singers. Method: descriptive search, quantitative in nature, cross-sectional, with a questionnaire for voice teachers, singers and audiologists. The sample consisted of 165 subjects: 86 voice teachers, 64 speech pathologists, and 15 singers. Results: Teachers of Singing (97.7 %), singers (95.3 %) and students (93.3 %) use the vocal warm-up. Conclusion: From the results we can infer that most of the professionals surveyed point to the importance of the implementation of the vocal warm-up before a performance, and the strategy used by most voice instructors, speech therapists and singers is vocalization, i.e. aesthetic warm-up.

The aim of this study was to verify the use of exertion subjective perception to control warm-up intensity performed by continuous running in children. Twenty-one children (11,4 ± 0,8 years, 45 ± 9,8 kg e 153,6 ± 9,6 cm), performed warm-up by continuous running in randomic order in three conditions with diferent intensities using rate of perceived exertion (RPE). The intensities were chosen according to RPE Borg CR-10 and the arbitrary units used were three (B3), Five (B5) and nine (B9). The heart rate (HR) and mean velocity of the run (VEL) were evaluated to analyse the intensity of the three warm-up conditions. Statistical analysis was done by annova one-way followed by post-hoc tukey test, considering significant level of 5%. There were significant increase in HR (B3= 112 ± 10, B5 = 140 ± 18 e B9 = 176 ± 21 bpm) and VEL (B3 = 4,01 ± 0,5, B5 = 7,09 ± 1,22 e B9 = 10,97 ± 1,70 km/h) between B5 and B9 condition compared to B3. Moreover, in both parameters B9 presented significantly higher results compared to the condition B5. It´s possible to control warm-up intensity performed by continuous running in children using RPE Borg CR-10.
