Qualidade de vida e vulnerabilidade social na percepção do idoso

According to data from the World Health Organization, the older population will grow sixteenfold from 1950 to 2025 in comparison to a fivefold population growth in the same period, which is referred to by UNO as the “Ageing Era”. This places Brazil in the sixth position in the contingent of older individuals worldwide, with a number that is higher than 32 million. Considering how topics such as quality of life and social vulnerability are important in face of the growing older population, these topics must be furthered studied so that they can be understood as important variables for both better clinical practice and scientific research. To describe the social vulnerability and evaluate the quality of life of older individuals in a population hospitalized in the internal medicine ward of Bauru State Hospital. This is a descriptive qualitative study that was conducted by means of interviews and using Bardin’s discourse analysis. The inclusion criteria used in this study were: individuals at 60 years of age who were mentally capable of answering the proposed questions. Two categories concerning Quality of Life and Social Vulnerability emerged from the interviews. The following emerged from the theme Quality of Life: “Life as something important” and subcategories that involved feeling useful in society, having a supportive family, independence, optimism and joy and survival. Also, the following emerged from the theme Social Vulnerability: “Negative recognition of older individuals in society” and subcategories that involved lack of respect, functional disability, family indifference, housing-related insecurity, an inefficient health care system and loneliness. Regiões competitivas agrícolas e vulnerabilidade territorial: o papel do Consórcio Pesquisa Café

This academic work presents the final results of the undergraduate research about new agricultural technical systems developed by “Consórcio Pesquisa Café” (CPC), which main objective was to analyze the impacts of scientific inputs in different coffee producing regions, particularly in South of Minas Gerais. The creation of the CPC meets the demands of a global scientific coffee-growing (SANTOS, 2000) under development in the current period technical-scientific-informational (SANTOS, 2009). On this period, also called globalization, the technoscience, the information and the finances guide the actions of companies and institutions submitted by imperative of competitiveness on international market. The Brazilian’s coffee-growing regions (South of Minas Gerais, Cerrado Mineiro, Espírito Santos Ridge’s, Western Bahia, among others) on search of higher productivities, begin gather technical, informational and communicational densities (SANTOS, 2009). Considering these facts, we detail in this research, the major agricultural technical systems developed by “Consórcio Pesquisa Café” (CPC), expressed in new management techniques, new cultivars and new chemicals, mechanical and biological inputs. Sustentabilidade socioambiental e a certificação de produtos orgânicos no estado de São Paulo

A produção de alimentos orgânicos no Brasil vem aumentando de maneira expressiva e tende a crescer ainda mais nos próximos anos, visto que a regulamentação da agricultura orgânica e seu marco legal são muito recentes. Considerando-se os problemas relacionados à agricultura convencional e o papel que a agricultura orgânica assume como alternativa ao sistema de produção vigente, o presente estudo tem como objetivo principal realizar uma revisão bibliográfica sobre a sustentabilidade do sistema orgânico de produção em seus aspectos técnicos, ecológicos, econômicos, socioculturais e políticos, comparativamente ao sistema de produção convencional. Além disso, buscou-se traçar um panorama atualizado sobre o mercado e a produção de alimentos orgânicos no Brasil e no Estado de São Paulo, de maneira a evidenciar os principais entraves à expansão da agricultura orgânica no país, enfocando especialmente os processos de certificação.

Discussões sobre gênero e vulnerabilidade a partir da análise de matérias sobre sexualidade das revistas Capricho e Playboy

The concept of vulnerability permits the comprehension of the exposition to the infection of the HIV virus without reducing it to the focus in the individual behaviors of non-adoption of the preventive practices, but considering the cultural factors that participate of the context in which these behaviors occur. Among these factors, it is important to consider the gender issues. This qualitative- descriptive study had as an aim to identify the presence of normative patterns of sexuality and gender in articles and sections about sex and sexuality in 18 editions of the Capricho magazine and 10 edition of the Playboy magazine published in 2010, through the content analysis, discussing the relation between the patterns identified and the way how the information about prevention are transmitted by the magazines’ discourses. It was discussed how the lack of information and the way how these patterns are crystallized can contribute to reinforce the vulnerability.

O teatro do oprimido como ferramenta educativa: ações junto aos adolescentes em estado de vulnerabilidade social

This article is a theoretical and practical portrait of a non-formal educational activities aimed to examine the transformations experienced by young people in a state of social vulnerability participating in social discussions in a form of theater of the oppressed - the theater-forum. The technique of theater-forum was held as a methodology able to establish a critical space action / reflection / action on the social reality experienced by these young people. The discussions postulates in some theatrical performances were analyzed critically and scored from theoretical frameworks of contemporary thinkers (Bauman, Augé, Boal,Bock, Aguiar, Ozella). We conclude that this action re-signified social problems (violence, drug involvement, hyperconsumerism, poverty, cultural capital etc.) Among these young people. In general, the young through a collective construction could experience new processes of subjectivity and open to possible changes and social transformations criticism in your life.

Políticas públicas e vulnerabilidade social: uma reflexão teórica a partir de experiência de estágio

This article provides a theoretical reflection on the relationship between public policies and the social vulnerability of children and adolescents, based on the supervised internship of students of Psychology at UNESP/Campus Assis. The work revealed the need to examine the implications that social vulnerability concepts and public policies have in this area of professional activity. The study indicated the importance of addressing the ways that social vulnerability arises, and suggested possible contributions that psychology could make in the social sphere. The work highlights the need for the future psychologist to deepen his/her knowledge of these issues in order to develop a critical professional attitude that breaks from the approach in which individuals and/or their families are considered responsible for the processes that maintain them at risk.
