O tratamento de esgotos sanitários e o seu posterior reúso, tornou-se uma alternativa viável para a irrigação, atividade que utiliza em torno de 70 % de toda a água consumida no planeta. Nesse sentido, o objetivo deste estudo foi monitorar durante todo o ciclo do trigo, os teores de Ferro e Manganês, bem como valores de pH e condutividade elétrica da água residuária utilizada para irrigação da cultura por gotejamento. A água residuária utilizada no estudo foi proveniente da Estação de Tratamento de Esgotos (ETE) da cidade de Botucatu-SP. No período de maio a outubro de 2011 a amostragem da água residuária foi realizada semanalmente, na saída da ETE. Foram determinados os seguintes parâmetros: Boro (B), Cobre (Cu), Ferro (Fe), Manganês (Mn) e Zinco (Zn), segundo metodologia adaptada de Malavolta et al. (1997). O pH e a condutividade elétrica (CE) foram determinados com auxilio de um pHmetro e condutivímetro, respectivamente. Não foi observado teores de Fe e Mn e valores de pH que comprometessem o sistema de irrigação, ou seja, que apresentasse alto potencial de risco de obstrução de tubulações e emissores (gotejamento). Os valores de CE indicam que a água residuária pode ser usada no solo, sempre que houver grau elevado de lixiviação, sem maior comprometimento das culturas.

The persistence of MCs in aquatic environments and their difficult removal in the conventional water treatment is a challenge to companies of sanitation. However, the MCs are susceptible to degradation by bacteria present in water, sediment and sewage effluents. In this study, we investigated the biodegradation of MCs by microorganism present in carbon filters with biological activity (BAC) and their phylogenetic identification by sequencing gene 16S RNA. A study of water containing MCs was used, with different compositions, plus a filters BAC effluent. The results showed that of MCs were biodegraded by microorganism present in the biofilm. This study provides the ability to complete biodegradation of MCs by bacteria present in BAC filters and the possible use of these microorganisms as alternative of the removal of MCs in the treatment of drinking water

The non existence of sewage services creates an unhealthy environmental, causing impact extremely prejudicial to the human health. In Brazil, this item represents the biggest deficit in the basic sanitation these days, and only about 50% of the population is attended. The sewage collection network is a needful system for the basic sanitation. Between the parameters of the project of a system of collection and sewage transportation, the definition of the population that will be attended is one of the most important variables, and that should be done based on criterion of population growth and in accordant to directrix presents in the comprehensive city plan. In this paper, were evaluated methods of growth based on the geometric growth rate, on the population density and on the number of residents per dwelling, and also mathematics models of growth prediction, emphasizing in the geometric growth and on the logistic curve method. That way, the goal of this paper were value the hydraulic performance in one of the watersheds delimited by the sewage network magnification work existent in the city of Cacoal–RO. Using simulation with different scenarios, the results pointed that the hydraulic performance of the system were strongly affected by the population determination method used. For the same drained area the diameters range from 150 to 250 mm as well as the trench’s deep, where some stretches exceeded the maximum values contained in the standard. Besides, the variation of the sewage contribution rate due the population variation estimated in different scenarios, led to alterations in others important project parameters, such as slope, shallow pool, tensile stress and spreading velocity

The use of rainwater for non-potable purposes generates a reduction in the consumption of treated water, however, this reduction is not observed in the generation of wastewater, as this is independent of the water source. In Brazil, the pricing on the services of collection and treatment of sewage, in general, is based on the coefficient of return of the sewage disposal system, which has a relation sewer / water proportional to the consumption of treated water measured at the consumer unit. The use of rainwater originating from utilization systems infer on the coefficient, underestimating the volume of wastewater generated. Therefore, this study presents a methodology for setting the coefficient of return. Different roof areas, reservoir volumes and rates of water consumption situations were simulated. The behavior of adjustment of the coefficient of return were also analyzed for the average area per capita roof (m² / inhabitant) of Rio Claro - SP. As a result, it can be seen that the adjustment of the coefficient of return is directly proportional to the increase of the roof areas and the volumes of reservoirs, and inversely proportional to the total water demand. The corrected coefficient of return showed the minimum value of 0.83 and a maximum value of 1.45, this variation corresponds to the maximum ratio between the demands of total water and rainwater, since the exploitation of rain water should be used only for non-potable uses, according to NBR 15527 / 07. To the municipality of Rio Claro - SP was noted an adjustment of the coefficient of return ranging from 0.99 to 6.61

Devido à alta ação antrópica em rios, lagos e mares, a ictiofauna sofre sérios impactos que podem prejudicar sua dinâmica populacional. No interior do estado de São Paulo, muitos municípios captam águas superficiais para o abastecimento urbano e lançam seus efluentes à jusante da captação. Pode-se dizer que o mesmo acontece com o município de Rio Claro. O presente trabalho de conclusão de curso avaliou os efeitos da poluição de despejos orgânicos sobre a diversidade da ictiofauna e a alimentação, a reprodução e o fator de condição de Astyanax fasciatus, levando em consideração a sazonalidade e a variação de parâmetros físico-químicos da água comparando dois pontos do Ribeirão Claro (Rio Claro – SP) no interior da “Floresta Estadual Edmundo Navarro de Andrade”: um à jusante da captação d’água da cidade (área menos poluída) e outro logo após o despejo dos esgotos (área mais poluída). Foram coletados no total 1274 exemplares distribuídos em 26 espécies de peixes nas quatro coletas realizadas. No ponto 1 – área menos poluída, foram coletados 1121 exemplares de 26 espécies nas estações cheia e seca. Na estação cheia foram capturados 401 indivíduos pertencentes a 19 espécies, enquanto que na estação seca foram coletados 720 indivíduos distribuídos em 24 espécies. No ponto 2 – área mais poluída, foram coletados 153 exemplares de 14 espécies. Na estação cheia, foram capturados 141 indivíduos distribuídos em 11 espécies, enquanto que na estação seca foram coletados 12 indivíduos pertencentes a 6 espécies. Dentre os parâmetros estudados, oxigênio dissolvido e coliformes fecais foram um dos mais discrepantes entre os dois pontos e entre as coletas, auxiliando assim, na caracterização do ambiente estudado. The anaerobic treatment of sewage is widely employed in Brazil and it is an appreciated way for the treatment of effluents, helping to reduce the environmental impact in rivers. The methane gas obtained from the process can be applied to improve the energetic efficiency of the system, reducing the amount of waste and the cost of the treatment process. This work presents the net energy balance of anaerobic reactors applied to the treatment of sewage. The analysis was performed considering full-scale and laboratory-scale treatment systems. In laboratory scale, the results from three kinds of systems were compared regarding the biological treatment of greywater. Two of them (UASB7 and UASB12) were anaerobic and the other one was a combined anaerobic-aerobic system (UASB7/SBR6). Greywater methanization (compared to theoretical maximum) was calculated considering 100% removal (g BOD/day), the literature percentage removal and the anionic surfactant presence in the effluentt. For each of these three cases, the efficiencies were, respectively, 16.9%, 43.6% and 51.3% in UASB7 reactor, 25.6%, 50.3% and 59.2% in UASB12 reactor and 30.6%, 61.2% and 71.9% in UASB7/SBR6 reactor. The energetic potential was found to be 4.66x10-4, 7.77x10-4 and 5.12x10-4 kWh/L for the UASB7, UASB12 and UASB7/SBR6 reactors, respectively. The pumping system, the aeration (in the anaerobic-aerobic system) and the temperature controlled heating system were considered to calculate the energetic consumption. However, the third one was not employed since tropical regions like Brazil do not need heating systems and also because of its high energetic consumption. The calculated net energy balance in the reactors was negative in the case of greywater, respectively -0.16, -0.28 and -0.18 kWh/L for the reactors UASB7, UASB12 and UASB7/SRB6. The treatment of domestic and industrial effluents through Wastewater Treatment Plants (WTPs) generates a residue termed sewage sludge, rich in organic matter, high-volume, occasionally containing pathogens and heavy metals. The sludge generation can minimize the benefits brought by the treatment of sewage, because this residue does not always receive appropriate treatment before final disposal. The disposal is another problem related to sludge. Landfills generally does not have physical space and alternatives such as the use in agriculture requires an intense treatment that could be in many cases operational or economic unfeasible. The objective of this work is the theoretical research about the processes of stabilization of the sludge by anaerobic digestion and the methanogenic activity during the process. Through analysis of each step and contemplating each relevant factor in anaerobic digestion process in order to optimize them, we proposed a theoretical model of reactors capable of stabilize the sludge, reduce its volume and eliminate pathogens. The obtained configuration consists of two anaerobic reactors connected in series. The first one operates in the range mesophilic temperature (35 ° C) and has higher hydraulic retention time (25 days) working primarily in the stabilization of organic matter present in the sludge and producing biogas, whereas the second one operates in the thermophilic range (55 ° C) in order to eliminate pathogens, and to reduce the volume. The hydraulic retention time in the second reactor is lower (10 days). Both mesophilic and thermophilic processes were efficient in what was proposed, promoting the stabilization of organic matter present in the sludge and significant reduction of pathogens. This paper presents alternatives for waste energy recovery from the sewage of cities. Through a review of the literature it is observed that the technologies studied are usually turbines, microturbines, and engines adapted to the use of biogas. For project design analyzes the technologies found in some sewage treatment plants in Brazil and the world, compared with those found in the literature. With this study it can be concluded that the most used technologies are microturbines and motor generator sets, which are already implemented in some locations in the USA, Europe and even Brazil. It can also be concluded that the energy recovery of waste from sewage can enable design of wastewater treatment plants thereby contributing to improved quality of life

The environmental issue has been considered of fundamental importance for the well being of the present and future generations and is inserted into the commitment of political parties at federal, state and municipal government programs, into the interests of popular organizations and business planning. The Parque Ecológico Cidade da Criança is one of the most sought after places for visitation at Presidente Prudente – SP. Located outside the Raposo Tavares Highway, next to the exhibition grounds and beside the agricultural school, has more than 30 acres of area with an infrastructure designed for recreation and leisure activities for all ages and has received new investment of the public power. Given the importance of the ecological aspects, the objective of this work is to perform an environmental diagnosis in order to be able to submit proposals for solving the problems encountered and improve the use of the environmental resources. Therefore, the study was divided into three foci: sewage disposal, erosion process and control of the stormwater drainage system. It was checked the discharge of sewage from the restaurant on exposed soil, erosion processes that develop at the camel and llama cages ground and erosion processes resulting from the convergence of the stormwater in the highest region of the park. The actual work broaches a study about the collection and treatment of sanitary sewage from the municipality of Ubatuba in its operational aspects and the tariff policy from the service. Themes related to the subject like the history of collection and treatment of sewage, its development in Brazil and its importance for public health and environmental preservation, as well as historical and geographical aspects of Ubatuba/SP, are present in the literature review. The methodology consists in guided visit in the colletion and treatment of sewage facilities and interview with technical managers. With the technical data obtained, it is made a discussion of the results and possible recommendations
