In this work present and discuss the specificities of the psychological care in Psychological Guidance to School Complaints (OQE) with adolescents, proposing theoretical and practical reflections resulted of intervention experiences in clinical practice. For this purpose we expose a conception of adolescence in which it is based and analyze the public schools' environment. We ponder on public policies of education for this population and the functioning of the school system that may be leading to difficulties in the education process. Further we present the specificities of the psychological care in OQE with adolescents: the educational incompetence stigma, the speech's and other language's role, the adolescent's authorship in the care process, life project's role, and specificities of an intervention in the school. Finally, we emphasize that this theme of educational difficulties faced by adolescents deserves further serious study and research in Educational and School Psychology. This may help to uncover the vicissitudes of this area and to improve the intervention proposals to that.

This paper is part of an extension project titled “The implementation of the School Development Plan in public schools of São Paulo: contradictions and implications for the educational management practice”. The School Development Plan is a program supported by the Ministry of Education through the National Fund for Education Development. Since 2010, it has been directed to state and local public schools that have not reached the goals set by the Basic Education Development Index. This research has been conducted in four public schools of an inner city of São Paulo since April 2011, in which the School Development Plan is being implemented. The objective of this study is to analyze the teachers’ concepts of learning assessment and identify the instruments used for such assessment and when they are used. The research made use of a qualitative approach. The study is based on literature review and data collected through questionnaires completed by teachers. We consider the importance of teachers monitoring the whole teaching and learning process and not only the results. However, public policies stimulate final results; thus, the study points out that teachers perform a checking, not an assessment, since there is no decision making. It is crucial to join quantity and quality when performing an assessment that diagnoses and values students and their effective learning.

There was a reflection on official documents about the extension of Elementary School and the presuppositions from the Cultural- -Historical Theory. Actions related to bibliographical research, questionnaire application, photographic and written documentation of playful practices observation, collective meetings with teachers and construction of a toy library have been taken. Specifically on the studied aspect, the make-believe play is the main child activity and may be considered as a mediator from the learning and from the humanization possibilities until about six years old. With this understanding, this issue deserves attention from the government (expressed in public policies), from the teachers and from the school staff in order to offer better conditions of success on the full formation during childhood.

Since the 1990s, higher education technology courses in Brazil have greatly expanded the offer of courses and places. However, the high dropout rates presented in these courses led to a research in order to uncover the factors that lead students to dropout. Through literature review and desk research, this study makes a historical analysis of how professional education is conducted in Brazil. This paper seeks to demonstrate that the implementation of public policies for professional education exacerbates the school’s duality. However, such duality generates contradictions between subjective and objective issues produced by the ideology disseminated by public policies and government actions in relation to vocational education. These contradictions end up unveiling the social inferiority of vocational education and discourage students from remaining in the courses. The legal equality between educational levels seeks to mediate the emergence of these contradictions. However, despite legal equality, social equality is not achieved in the implementation of public policies, leading to a high dropout rate.

Since 1990, in Brazil, the paradigm of inclusive education has influenced public policies and educational systems. Continuing education courses for teachers are spreading with the intention of preparing them to face the challenge of working with students with disabilities. But what factor has motivated teachers to participate in these courses? This study sought to answer this question by identifying and mapping the aspects that led to 105 regular education teachers from municipal schools in São Paulo to participate during the year 2010/2011, the third edition of the specialization course called "Teacher Education in Special Education." Data was collected through a questionnaire applied to teachers who attend the course. The results revealed that motivation is intrinsically related to the characteristics of the teachers’ age and where they stand in the cycle of teaching career, as well as aspects related to professional activities. Moreover, from this research were pointed reflections on the importance of training teachers for the improvement of the educational system in order to effectively meet the principles of inclusive education, as suggested by the legislation in our country.

This research, based on authors such as Was (1999), Guarnieri (1996 and 2005), Freitas (2002 and 2007) argue that the understanding of teacher education as a complex continuum aimed at understanding the initiation of the educational performance in the first five years of professional practice, by analyzing the history of teaching teachers early in their career. As we contemplate the specific objectives of interest to examine the training received to enter and work in the classroom and the experiences in teaching at undergraduate students. To perform the empirical study we adopted the use of semi-structured, guided by an outline of issues significant to the conduct of the respondents' narratives. The main results can highlight the difficulties encountered at the beginning of the educational performance are recurrent, data analysis shows that there is a significant increase in the duties of the teacher. With the study arrives at the premise that we must rethink the quality and structure of training courses aimed at improving the quality of performance of professional education, but for this to occur there must be deepening of studies and improvements not only in initial training and in continuing education courses.
