n this paper I pose some questions that I systematized after taking part in a colloquium proposed by the National Conference on Education (CONAE 2010) to discuss the theme “Environmental Education and Curriculum Contextualization”. Regarding public environmental education policies, I try to indicate some perspectives that are both coherent with what Brazilian educators and environmentalists have been proposing and considered necessary for the consolidation of an Articulated National Education System. I present a synthesis of the environmental education proposals systematized in the CONAE Reference Document, which was designed as a guide to state and local conferences. I make an effort to carry out a preliminary analysis of both the process and the content of the public environmental education proposals systematized in the Essential Documents (Volumes I and II), Thematic Plenary Meeting Documents, and Final Document. Furthermore, I try to present a short synthesis of the prevailing tendencies of educational policies in Brazil in the last decades, pointing out the meaning and need of social activism for the construction of public policies for education, in general, and for environmental education, specifically.

Our main concern was to investigate the forms and rationalities implicit in the social regulation/autonomy of the management processes of learning, historically established in the 1971 through 2002 educational reforms, via assessment guidelines of school performance in the state of São Paulo. We used a socio-historical approach, relying on speeches and official documents as our primary source and on studies and research work about teacher assessment and performance as secondary sources. As central categories we considered continuity and rupture in the patterns and mechanisms of social regulation/autonomy of educational work. The results help to clarify how educational policies, instituted in contexts of social reproduction/transformation, influence the management of educational processes within the school.

The present study, theoretical, aims to talk about educational policies in Brazil, aiming to unveil what they say these policies, the legitimacy and visibility that give coverage of sexuality in schools. Both sexuality and gender relations have gained attention in a Brazilian educational research in the mid-90th century. These policies have been the National Curricular Parameters (PCN). They present the cross-cutting themes: ethics, health, environment, cultural diversity and sexual orientation, which should be integrated into conventional areas of the school said. Another document of this same decade of education is the National Education Plan (PNE), however this encompasses so hidden sexuality and gender relations. In fact, both the new Law of Directives and Bases (LDB), the PNE in these subjects are veiled. An interesting initiative is happening in Brazil is the project Gender and Sexual Diversity (GDE) for the training of professionals in education issues of gender, sexuality and sexual orientation and ethnic-racial relations, is entering the national perspective of implementation public policy of equality and respect for diversity. However, much remains to be done thinking about the effectiveness of public policies that are effective with respect to space and visibility for the treatment of sexuality. We must also articulate the integration of these themes in these policies, strategies to raise awareness of education professionals in order to secure that they are actually implemented.

The objective of this study is to present an analysis of students performance in public schools of Araraquara in relation to the proficiency in mathematics, addressing the Sistema de Avaliação de Rendimento Escolar do Estado de São Paulo (SARESP), which is an important tool for support the Secretaria Estadual da Educação in definitions focused on educational policies. To perform the analysis of students performance were considered notes in math tests, achieved by students from the third grade of high school in eleven state public schools of Araraquara. To achieve the proposed objective, were used data from SARESP for the period between 2008 and 2011, made available by the State Secretariat of Education (SEE). The results showed that students in the third grade of high school of public schools in Araraquara are in the worst levels of proficiency in mathematics considered by SARESP. This result demonstrates an urgent need to seek explanations and ways to overcome this situation.

Marcuse’s concept of technological rationality is still quite real because it allows for a critical analysis of our society. When applied to education it shows how our social practices, objectively organized with the help of technological devices, supercede themselves and create systemic consequences. This article analyzes some of these consequences for educational policies and forms of school management by investigating day-to-day occurences in a small school in the São Paulo countryside.

This paper raises questions about the ways in which corporeality and processes desiring were built within binary systems, universalistic and subjected to imprisonment restricted to heteronormativity and phallocentrism, and most often, the only references that guide the schools, their curricula and assessment systems. This paper seeks to understand the importance of Pibid (Institutional Scholarship Program for Teacher Initiation) in initial formation, more specifically in the pedagogue's formation. The interest for research was motivated by my inclusion in this program, through the interdisciplinary subproject called University and school thinking of interdisciplinary teacher formation: research, reflection and action in which I participated from August 2011 to December 2013. I developed a qualitative survey of bibliographic character, which aims to analyze the theoretical productions in the field of education and that has the focus the Pibid's contribution as well as its potential. For this purpose, I considered the articles located in the Annals of the XVI ENDIPE (National Meeting of Didactic and Teaching Practice) in 2012, in all its themes (Educational policies and impacts at school and in the classroom, Policies of initial formation and continuing formation of teachers and Didactics and teaching practices in contemporary school reality: findings, analysis and propositions). I believe that the research can contribute to rethink the initial formation practices by providing subsidies to the graduated on the teaching career, raising the quality of basic education
