Cidade média de limiar superior: um estudo a partir de Ribeirão Preto (SP)

This papper aims to discuss Ribeirão Preto as a switched-over intermediate city classification, contrastating with the concept of Metropolitan Region of Ribeirão Preto. The agribusiness sector will be analysed as the main responsible for the representation of Ribeirão Preto city as an Agribusiness Center. Due to this fact, Sertãozinho city example will be presented as Agribusiness City, where acctually concentrates the agro-industrial complex of sugarcane production, while Ribeirão Preto is in fact centralizes management activities. According to the balance of trade analysis, other elements showed up and fortifies the role of this cities. These elements unfolded the analysis of higher education guideline and shopping malls. We also analyzed the urban network of Ribeirão Preto under the concept of the Região de Influência das Cidades (REGIC) and the creation of the project Metropolitan Region of Ribeirão Preto in order to strengthen the central hypothesis as a switched-over medium sized city. Control of red-gum lerp psyllid with formulated mycoinsecticides under semi-field conditions

This study evaluated the potential use of commercial mycoinsecticide formulations against red-gum lerp psyllid Glycaspis brimblecombei Moore in semi-field conditions. Eucalypt seedlings infested with psyllid nymphs were sprayed with different formulations and two concentrations of each product. Conidial deposits were evaluated after spraying for control efficiency. The conidial deposit was affected by the pathogen species and by formulation types. Higher conidial deposits were associated with mycoinsecticide formulation concentrates of lower granulometry and oil dispersion. However, some products with low deposits of conidia were highly efficient against psyllid nymphs. The results showed that the use of entomopathogenic fungi is a promising alternative method for controlling the red-gum lerp psyllid.

Parâmetros sanguíneos basais de cavalos submetidos à atividade aeróbica consumindo concentados lipídicos

The feeding diets were evaluated containing low and high levels of soybean oil for horses athletes subjected to two protocols of aerobic training on the response of basal blood biochemical parameters. Four horses were used in latin square design with treatments in a 2 x 2 factorial arrangement. Treatments consisted levels of 5 and 15% oil concentrates and two aerobic training, 40' and 60' minutes. Plasmatic parameters were monitored, triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), glucose (GLU) and lactate (LAC), during basal metabolism. The TG, TC, GLU and LAC from horses at rest were not affected (P> 0.05) neither of diet and physical activity, 0.21, 3.79, 4.18, 0.93 mmol L-1, respectively. It can be concluded that offer concentrate with high content of soybean oil to athletic horses in aerobic activities can be performed without altering the blood biochemical profile of basal metabolism.
