A Concordância verbal e suas repercussões avaliativas nas redações de vestibular

This paper attempts to quantify the occurrences of verb agreement, as well as evaluative repercussions on a sample of one hundred and eight essays compiled by candidates entering the São Paulo State University- UNESP in 2006 through an annual entrance exam conducted by the Foundation and applied for Vestibular the Unesp - VUNESP in November 2005. Our reflections are observing about the possible relationships between the performances obtained in newsrooms observed (high, medium and low) and precepts found in the rules established by normative grammars. Our study is based on theoretical and methodological framework of variationist sociolinguistics and search through the quantification of data, discuss the factors that influence verb agreement in the corpus analyzed. Our results show not only a high index of cases of verbal agreement (standard variant) in the three types of essays analyzed, as well as cases of overcorrection that may be explained by the misapplication of the rules of agreement

Discurso e identidade feminina na mídia impressa: a evolução da mulher no mercado de trabalho

The female identity in relation to the multiplicity of roles of contemporary women and their evolution in the labor market is the focus of the work that is developed from studies of French line Discourse Analysis refered to Michel Pêcheux and Michel Foucault. The objective is to reflect on the discursive mechanisms of print media, focusing on Veja magazines covers, which, by its verbal and visual language, constructs meaning effects and disseminates certain social thruths about the female changes. Considering that this media aspect plays an important role on society's opinion formation, it is worth to investigate, analyse and describe the elements present on the covers, as seduction and persuasion objects. The work analysis material is formed by six covers published by Veja magazine in the period of 1968-2012, which raise the theme of women in the labor market and show us their evolution and the changes in the representations about the female universe and the work in society

Interpretações semânticas no pretérito perfeito: pretérito ou presente

An analysis of “Pretérito Perfeito Simples” (Simple Past Tense) and “Pretérito Per‐ feito Composto” (Compound Past Tense) in Brazilian Portuguese showed that such tenses must be distinguished according to semantic and pragmatic features other than temporal; both tenses can be used to express a situation that begins in the past and extends up to the present.

Estudo normativo do R-2: teste não verbal de inteligência para crianças

This study presents the standardization of the R-2 Non Verbal Intelligence Test for Children conducted at the city of Assis – SP, Brazil, and compares it with the São Paulo city standardization. The sample was composed by 559 children, between 5 and 11 years old, half of each sex, students from Assis city, randomly selected according to their proportion in private and public schools. Results indicate differences between ages and school types, but not between sexes. Percentile norms were established for the total sample at each age. The comparison of Assis and São Paulo city children reveals significant differences and Assis' results slightly higher. The conclusion is that R-2 Test is appropriate to cognitive assessment of Assis children, suggesting the use of new norms for this region.

The visual identity is based on a semantic relationship of several signs that make up a coherent system. A bimédia language formed by text and image complement to create an understandable message. This study aims the use of non-verbal communication in the corporate visual identity design project, contextualizing the role of the designer as mediator for informational corporate message to their audiences.
