This paper examines how the reinvigoration of the exceptional American historical experience appears as a solution to some of the leading neoconservatives, considering Nathan Glazer and Irving Kristol as emblematic, regarding the fall of the American empire, beginning in the 1960s and 1970s, after its rise during the Cold War, the so-called 25 glorious years. We note that the arguments of these authors is rooted in the revival of reactionary rhetoric as an antidote to the decadence of American virtue supposedly caused by Communism, by the counterculture movement and the alleged perverse effect of the welfare state.

Periodontal therapy has undergone significant changes in recent decades. While in the past the only goal was to restore gingival health, with no concern about the possible consequences of the disease treatment, currently the procedures are performed in a less invasive manner, to maintain aesthetic periodontal results or even recover them. Gingival recession is an alteration frequently found in patients and may be a complaint for causing various complications. For their treatment, several surgical techniques are reported in the literature. The techniques that are more predictable are those that associate a subepithelial connective tissue graft and a coronally repositioned flap. The original technique consists in performing two vertical incisions for an extensive release of the flap and its stabilization in a coronal position. Although this procedure is extremely widespread in the literature, the search for less invasive surgeries without the use of vertical incisions are the current aim of periodontal plastic surgeries, since they present several advantages. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate a case where adjacent, deep and multiple recessions were present resulting in aesthetic problems, which was resolved by a less invasive approach using a surgical technique in envelope and a subepithelial connective tissue graft.

The short dental implants represent an option of previsible treatment, its main indication lives in the possibility of avoiding techniques surgical invasive. The literature in the display that the geometry of the implants is of vital importance, combined with wide diameters and surface treatment, mainly when the bone quality is unfavorable. The mechanical resistance can be enlarged, increasing the number of implants and being used the spliting among them. A rigorous protocol prosthodontist should be following with intention of to avoid oblique loads and to control habits parafuncionais. We aimed at to discuss, through a wide bibliographical revision the short dental implants, their characteristics and indications, giving emphasis to the aspects biomechanic of the same ones. This article discusses the policy implications of agricultural modernization implemented by the military - after 1964. This policy, which became known as the Green Revolution, on the one hand contributed to the development of big business, but another caused serious social and environmental impacts. Currently, not only in Brazil but all over the world, have been in a great debate about the need to find alternatives to contain the problems caused to the environment resulting from the use of high technology in the field. One alternative proposed by several researchers is to replace fossil fuels by biofuels. As we believe that the error is in the current model of agricultural production based on mass production, which serves the major markets, the attention in this article, the need to develop an agricultural model designed for small property, with the use of family work and agroecology.
