Proposta de adequa����o ambiental de pequena propriedade rural localizada no munic��pio de S��o Carlos - SP

A ocupa����o inconsequente do territ��rio e a aplica����o de t��cnicas agropastoris altamente degradantes ao meio ambiente, no Estado de S��o Paulo, culminaram em uma diminui����o da cobertura vegetal nativa preservada de apenas 14% da cobertura original. Nesse cen��rio, o Novo C��digo Florestal, de 1964, regulamentava a proteção das chamadas ��reas de Preserva����o Permanente e a aplica����o da ��rea de Reserva Legal, que consistia em uma porcentagem da ��rea total da propriedade rural destinada �� preserva����o para a manuten����o da biodiversidade local. Com a fun����o de guiar as propostas de recupera����o das ��reas degradadas e de preserva����o dos remanescentes nativos, um Programa de Adequa����o Ambiental foi desenvolvido no presente estudo. Seu objetivo �� adequar uma pequena propriedade rural, localizada no munic��pio de S��o Carlos ��� SP, ��s leis ambientais, com a finalidade de torn��-la o mais ecologicamente sustent��vel poss��vel. Com o auxilio de imagens de sat��lite dispon��veis gratuitamente na internet e programas de SIG (ArcGis, Stitch Maps), o Programa de Adequa����o Ambiental da Est��ncia 4R avaliou os usos e ocupa����es da propriedade, indicando que mais da metade da propriedade (35 ha) s��o destinados �� cria����o de gado de corte e quase todo o restante (20 ha) est�� arrendado para o cultivo de cana-de-a����car, e sugeriu propostas de restaura����o da ��rea de Reserva Legal, cuja ��rea deve ser de 12 ha, bem como sua localiza����o, ao sul da propriedade. Como a����o de restaura����o, foi proposto o cons��rcio de esp��cies arb��reas nativas com linhas de plantio de caf�� de sombra, em um sistema de plantio conhecido como Agroflorestal

Experimenta����o e educa����o ambiental: contribui����es metodol��gicas

During the last centuries, the human being have been considered the center of the universe. The man believed that nature was at his disposal. Appropriated their processes, their cycles changed, redefined their spaces. Today, when faced with an environmental crisis which threatens the planet life, including the human life, the Science Education can contribute to a reconstruction of man-nature relationship in other terms. The transformation of teaching practices in the school environment, to be reflective, it is still a process that challenges the vast majority of teachers. As has been indicated by Guerra (2004), among others, the traditional teaching of content delivery is still very strong and certainly more deeply embedded in ideas and activities of the teachers who focus on environmental education. With it, a theory and pedagogical discourses in critical-reflexive actions is still a major obstacle. Therefore, new proposals for education and continuing education activities need to be formulated and presented based on the characteristics and needs breathing. Therefore propose changes in the way of teaching, where there is more room for a theory and praxis alone or with a only scientific truth. The scenery of society requires that knowledge is constructed to interconnect all disciplines, joining theory and practice so we can understand the whole and their relations in an integrated manner. It was proposed here a way to build a school and applying theoretical and practical activities involving experimental and seeking to meet the principles of Environmental Education for the training of citizens aware and critical. At the same time cares to use textbooks very rich in its pedagogical character that are present in schools and often are, forgotten and unused by teachers. Bioatividade de cip��-prata (Trigonia nivea Cambess) sobre a excre����o renal de ��gua e eletr��litos e press��o arterial

Brazil is a country with the largest world��s vegetal genetic diversity and the Environmental Protection Area (APA) of the ���Serra da Mantiqueira��� is a very heterogeneous region, representing one of the richest sources of pharmacologically actives materials. The population uses medicinal plants and according to the OMS, 80% of the population uses them in primary treatment of several diseases. Nevertheless, the loss of traditional knowledge associated with medicinal plants is occurring quickly. The ethnopharmacological strategy uses traditional knowledge to the search for medicinal plants that can have bioactive substances against diseases that afflicting the population and thus protect traditional knowledge. The ���cip��-prata��� (Trigonia n��vea Cambess.) is a native plant normally found in the ���Bacia do Paran����� region and present in the flora in the neighborhood of ���Marins���, Piquete-SP and usually, said for the treatment of renal and urinary diseases. So, the objective of this study was test if the ���cip��prata��� (Trigonia n��vea Cambess.) has effects on the renal excretion of water and salt, in anesthetized Wister rats. The tests were made in males Wistar rats and randomly distributed into 4 experimental groups: Group I ��� aqueous control, Group II ��� treated with aqueous extract (EA) of ���cip��-prata���, Group III ��� water control + ���tween 80���, Group IV ��� treated with ethanol extract (EE) and ���cip��-prata���. All groups were subjected to experimental protocol, composed of three periods: Balance (40 minutes), Basal (30 minutes) and Experimental (90 minutes), occurring the urine collection every 30 minutes, from the basal period and measuring blood pressure every 10 minutes. O Sistema de Gest��o Ambiental e sua contribui����o socioambiental para a biblioteca central da UNESP, Campus Rio Claro/SP

The minimization and mitigation of environmental impacts caused by the activities of organizations is increasingly becoming a key concern due to factors such as market demand, including suppliers and consumer markets, quality standards and even marketing strategies. The implementation of an EMS - Environmental Management System - allows the organization to achieve the level of environmental performance for its determined and promotes continuous improvement over time. This system consists of a schedule of activities, so as to eliminate or minimize impacts to the environment through preventive actions. It also provides a structured approach to set and achieve goals and objectives, and to establish procedures, work instructions and control, ensuring that the implementation of the policy can become reality. The objective of this work consists in planning a system using environmental management based on the ISO 14001 - standard internationally more widespread and accepted in the requirements to establish and operate an EMS - the Central Library, UNESP, Rio Claro / SP to stimulate the quest for continuous improvement and sustainability in the educational institution. For making the diagnosis of this planning was used the PDCA methodology, suggested by the standard, as well as all requirements for compliance. The results show that the benefits that the organization will receive involve reducing expenses and cost of energy and water, and improve the organization's reputation before the whole university and other educational institutions, reaching about three thousand people on university

Uso dos recursos naturais em unidade de conserva����o de proteção integral: o caso do sert��o do Ubatumirim, N��cleo Picinguaba do Parque Estadual da Serra do Mar

O Litoral Norte do Estado de S��o Paulo comp��e uma regi��o estrat��gica, notada pela import��ncia de suas ��reas Protegidas (AP), sobretudo, pela presen��a humana em Unidades de Conserva����o (UC), um tema cada vez mais presente no debate sobre a proteção ambiental em territ��rios ocupados por grupos tradicionais que exercem uso diferenciado dos recursos naturais. Diante desse contexto, torna-se uma necessidade, viabilizar diretrizes para a gest��o territorial ao possibilitar o compartilhamento das decis��es acerca do uso do territ��rio, visando �� conserva����o ambiental e proteção da cultura remanescente dos grupos sociais residentes no interior das UC. O presente trabalho busca dimensionar os aspectos de intera����o com o ambiente, atrav��s das formas de uso mantidas sobre os recursos naturais, como caracter��stica de reprodu����o sociocultural, premissa �� proteção e manuten����o do modo de vida das fam��lias residentes do N��cleo Picinguaba do Parque Estadual da Serra do Mar no munic��pio de Ubatuba-SP. No intuito de compatibilizar diretrizes para o planejamento da UC, evidenciou-se a rela����o da forma����o hist��rica da ��rea, tal como, a intera����o exercida sobre ao ambiente e a resist��ncia territorial, ao abordar a quest��o cultural e o modo de vida dos residentes tradicionais da Zona Hist��rico-Cultural Antropol��gica (ZHCAn) do Sert��o do Ubatumirim. Medidas de adequa����o ambiental para ind��stria de leite e derivados, como requisito para gest��o ambiental

The society continues demonstrating its need regarding the products and services, even though it becomes increasingly value the protection of the environment. In this context, environmental management is defined as a management method that emphasizes to continuously improve results and promote sustainable development. Moreover it has as a tool the laws which provide the benchmarks and mechanisms for companies to adapt their activities in such a way that does not alter the quality of the environment. In this sense, in order to propose improvements to a dairy aiming their environmental suitability, a present study was prepared by following the production activities of the enterprise, the raising of standards and applicable legal requirements and environmental assessment for the preparation of an array of aspects and impacts with the task of identifying the most significant according to MOREIRA (2006). The results indicated that some of the impacts of high relevance are related to the generation of wastewater and solid waste, which do not have treatment and / or proper disposal and indeed require intervention for their suitability. Through, these results were drawn up proposals for actions conformation. In addition, they were proposed meeting the requirement for health and safety at work, in accordance with the standard regulations. This study has the function, therefore, propose to the company in question, an environmental management plan that ensures the protection of the environment and health of employees and consequently the improvement of production processes and products

Transforma����o da paisagem da ��rea de preserva����o ambiental APA no Munic��pio de Botucatu-SP

The Environmental Protection Areas (EPA) are a type of sustainable use conservation unit, therefore its territory have public and private areas. To establish and reorganize the use of EPA���s territory, aiming the environment conservation along with human actions, it is necessary a management plan that should be conducted within five years from the date of its creation. The EPA Botucatu, established in 1983, does not have its management plan completed until the present day. The consequences of lack of organization about the use and occupation of its territory can be observed in a comparative study of territorial classification between the years 1985 and 2010, which was the objective of this study. As a result, it could be observed the decrease of the remaining fragments and intense fragmentation of them, pointing to the need for projects that aim the restoration, conservation and connectivity between these fragments and the subsequent application

Population aging and environmental protection have gained special importance after the economic, demographic and social recent changes. The objective of this paper was to promote theoretical and reflective review with emphasis on convergence between sustainable development and educational activities promoted by the University of the Third Age. We conducted a literature review to give full articles from the descriptors: aged, sustainable development indicators and environmental protection, published in English, Spanish and Portuguese, between January 1994 and June 2014, in national and international journals on the basis LiIlacs, Bireme and Medline. We used systematic data collection for sample analysis. The results indicate that the University of the Third Age develops teaching, research and extension, through actions based on aging and educational assumptions. In this context, environmental education is presented as a pedagogical process capable of awakening the critical capacity of the elderly, making it active social worker and leading him to a cultural design which ensures establishment of sustainable harmonious relationship with nature. It was concluded that the University of the Third Age contributes to initiatives that emphasize the relationships between systems and economic processes or social and natural processes, generating the construction of social values, knowledge, skills, attitudes and skills aimed at the conservation of the environment.
