Proper diagnosis and good treatment are essential to the success of the treatment. This article aims to report a case of agenesis of the maxillary lateral incisor along with the involvement of a root fracture of the maxillary central incisor. The orthodontic treatment was successfully finished with a favorable prognosis for the fractured incisor to stay in a esthetic and functional position.

Destruction of bone and periodontal ligament as a result of periodontal disease can lead to anatomical defects in the furcation area. Treatment of these lesions is a major challenge to the clinician. Periodontal instruments have limited access to this area and plaque and calculus removal from root surfaces are extremely difficult. For proper treatment planning a number of factors must be taken into consideration to achieve immediate and long term success. Surgical therapy associated with bone grafts may be a viable option in the treatment of class II furcation defects, aiming to restore lost tissues. The aim of this paper is to report a clinical case where a simplified surgical approach with the use of autogenous graft was used to treat a class II furcation defect Twelve months after the surgery, an increase in clinical attachment level and pocket depth reduction resulted in a complete closure of the furcation lesion.

After the surgical-restorative planning, periodontal procedures were performed to obtain an adequate balance between the teeth and soft tiessues.

Implicações da disposição de lodo de estação de tratamento de esgoto em solo no Brasil

The management of solid waste originated from the treatment of domestic and industrial sewage in wastewater treatment plants is a current challenge in the Brazilian reality. However, the planning and the final destination of sludge end up being overlooked, causing serious damage to human health and the environment. The use of sewage sludge in the agriculture is growing in Brazil and is regulated by the Resolução CONAMA Nº 375/2006 which establishes the criteria and parameters so that the sludge can be disposed on the ground safely to the environment and the population. This study aims to define the effects of using sewage sludge in soil according to the results of the bibliographic survey of theoretical and practical studies using this waste in the recovery and conditioning of soil for agriculture and recuperation of degraded areas, and to define whether such type of sludge recycling is environmentally and socially feasible and safe. It can be said that the reuse of sewage sludge in soil meets the search requirements for an alternative that brings agronomic, environmental and economic benefits, as well as being an environmental and social healthy alternative if properly attended the laws that deal with the subject, anyway those should be reviewed and updated taking into account Brazilian soil and climate conditions, thus justifying need for more studies in the area

Planejamento reverso em implantodontia: relato de caso clínico

The oral rehabilitation has achieved great prominence in the dental implant, especially in the cases of reposition of units dental elements, so it is possible to replace each missing element to implant into your space where the tooth was loss. The reverse planning is fundamental to an appropriate rehabilitation, because promote the elimination of problems that might compromise the aesthetics and function of future dental implants. The objective of this study was to report the treatment plan for a patient in need of oral rehabilitation with implant dental prosthesis, using indications and techniques based on the literature, emphasizing the importance of reverse planning. We conducted an osseointegrated implant surgery using the principles of a connect procedure, thus allowing their successfully installing increasing the predictability of treatment. It is concluded that the success of rehabilitation treatment is directly related to the initial planning, a correct clinical approach and an integrated multidisciplinary team.

Uso de sistema de retenção magnético como opção de tratamento para solução de caso com espaço interoclusal reduzido

The treatment with overdenture supported by tooth consists in complete or partial removable prosthesis confection in which some satisfactory tooth are maintained and used to aiding retention associated with any retention system. The purpose of this case report is to show the use of magnet attachment in the confection overdenture to improve the oral rehabilitation in cases with restricted intermaxillary space. The treatment was considered successful by the patient and no need for excessive alteration in the prosthesis was required in the follow-up period of 6 months.

A percepção e o alcance da excelência estética traduzem-se especialmente em saber interpretar e satisfazer os anseios dos pacientes, empregando-se para isso todo o conhecimento disponível na literatura científica. No tratamento com laminados cerâmicos, a ciência fornece parâmetros para nos guiar com relação a um correto diagnóstico, planejamento seguro, técnica adequada e material mais indicado; porém, a subjetividade estética pode estar escondida nas entrelinhas da ciência. Contudo, o objetivo deste artigo é descrever um protocolo para fechamento de múltiplos diastemas, salientando a técnica empregada, bem como o material cerâmico utilizado e suas peculiaridades, implícitas dentro de um contexto estético específico.
