This study aims to investigate the Idioms (IEs) or combinations related to the Italian lexical units testa and capo, in comparison to the Portuguese lexical unit cabea. Since they have come from two completely different etyma, they are not perfect synonyms; on the contrary, they gave rise to several expressions that are common to just one lexical units. Corpus selection was made in monolingual Italian general dictionaries and then the data was classified according to each typology: idioms that are common only with the unit capo; idioms just with head; idioms that are synonyms with both; IEs whose translations refer to other parts of the body. As a result, we found that most of the IEs with capo or testa have common semes, but most of them also are specific to one or other lexical unit exclusively, confirming the difference in semantic features between them as well as non-univocity between languages.

OBJETIVO: traduzir e adaptar protocolo desenvolvido por pesquisadores alemes, adequando-o s caractersticas fonticas e lingusticas do portugus falado no Brasil. Caracterizar os componentes de fala mais alterados na populao com doena de Parkinson, comparando-os com grupo de sujeitos normais na mesma faixa etria. MTODOS: realizou-se a traduo e adaptao do protocolo. Posteriormente foram avaliados 21 pacientes com diagnstico neurolgico de Doena de Parkinson nos estgios Hoehn &Yarh, entre 2 e 3, e 10 sujeitos normais. O protocolo inclua avaliao da respirao, fonao, ressonncia, articulao, prosdia e a anlise acstica dos parmetros vocais. RESULTADOS: o protocolo mostrou-se de fcil aplicao clnica. Nos sujeitos com doena de Parkinson foram observadas alteraes predominantes na fonao (85,9%) e articulao (42,9%). CONCLUSO: o estudo demonstrou ser o protocolo uma ferramenta eficiente para a avaliao da disartria em pacientes com doena de Parkinson.

The aim of this study was to verify the reliability of the Brazilian Portuguese version of the instrument Cerebral Palsy: quality of life questionnaire for children: primary caregiver questionnaire (CP QOLChild: primary caregiver) translated and culturally adapted. Thus, the translation and cultural adaptation of the instrument was made, and then the procedures to verify its reliability were performed. The translated and culturally adapted questionnaire was answered by 30 caregivers of children with cerebral palsy and inter and intra-observer analysis followed. The data allowed the authors to identify an internal consistency rangering from 0.649 to 0.858, intra-observer reliability from 0.625 to 0.809 and inter-observer reliability from 0.498 to 0.903. The analysis suggests that the instrument has acceptable psychometry.

In this paper, we analyze readers letters of the first copies of the Revista Língua Portuguesa. This work aims to expand the study of the relations, in this magazine, between discourses that come from different spheres of communication, as the Bakhtin Circle considers. The intention is to develop by studying the speech genre readers letter a reflection on the construction of the recipients image in the journal, i.e. the teacher. It is analyzed the discursive ethos and the representation of the teacher created by the readers.

This study approaches the expression of causality in the clause combining in Portuguese, considering, as fundamental, the thread that exists between the performance, in the socio-interaction, and cognitive trigger, based on intersubjectivity. Given that grammar is responsible for the functional organization of those relationships, the study examines the conjunctions traditionally considered as causal, especially those constructs invested with effects that go beyond the strict direction cause-consequence. After evaluating the proposal of formation of causal conjunction blocks with similar behavior, in contrast with others, we arrive at the discussion of the functional uniqueness of the conjunction porque (because).

Didactic texts compose communication and representation systems. By them societies communicate with their children, their youth, transmit them live representations, symbols, ways of understanding speeches and delimit their study fields. This article presents a discussion about the medias used by Portuguese language text books selected by the Ministry of Education Textbook National Program (PNDL in Portuguese), in order to observe the foundation of actions, movements and media insertion at school. The analysis allows us to see the consolidation of an individualist profile among the strategies of using medias at school, among others aspects.
