Septic shock remains one of the most common challenges for the small animal practicing, presenting high mortality rates frequently associated with late identification of this syndrome, as well as an inappropriate treatment. In general, disruption of homeostasis occurs with an intense activation of inflammatory cascade, which leads to a damage to endothelial cells and an exposure to these cytokines, which will result in vasodilation and increased capillary permeability. Thus, there is a drop in blood pressure, even after aggressive fluid resuscitation. Therefore, drugs such as vasopressors, which act by increasing systemic vascular resistance, and inotropes, which have an effect on heart pump, should be administered in order to raise blood pressure, ensuring adequate tissue perfusion. The objective of this review was to gather information about the various drugs used in vasopressors/inotropes therapy, trying to explain the role of each one in different situations, in order to increase the survival rate in dogs affected with septic shock

Estudo da influência da aplicação do fluido de corte no torneamento da liga de alumínio AA7075

One of the ways to minimize the effects of unproductive time caused by tool wear can be achieved by introducing an efficient system of lubrication and cooling in the process. However, in the last decade the research had the goal to restrict the maximum use of refrigerants and / or lubricants in metal-mechanical production. The important factors that justify this procedure include the operational costs of production, ecological issues, and the legal requirements of environmental conservation and preservation of human health. The purpose of the proposed work is the study of machining by turning with the focus on the influence caused by the application of cutting fluid in several ways of application (abundant and MQF) and also by comparing the results obtained by machining without the presence of fluid . For this purpose, the turning tests are conducted using an aluminum alloy (AA 7075). The response variables to be analyzed were obtained from the roughness (Ra and Ry), the stresses presented (VB) and their progression in relation to the cutting length achieved, the type of chip formed, in addition to changes in the degree of finish (roughness) presented by the turned parts. The results of this study should provide more detailed information about the actual influence of cutting fluids in turning this alloy, which are characterized by high rates of deformation when the formation of damaging your chip machining and also the quality of surface generated. Therefore, it is expected to provide subsidies to promote the optimization of machining this alloy making the most of the role of cutting fluid

Prevalência de alterações sistêmicas em pacientes atendidos na disciplina de cirurgia e traumatologia bucomaxilofacial do curso de Odontologia da UNIARA

Introduction: pre-operative assessment is of fundamental importance for the prevention of transoperative and of postoperative complications. Objective: to identify the prevalence of diseases and systemic conditions in patients undergoing surgical treatment in the discipline of surgery and Traumatology of University Center of Araraquara, in the period of 2004 to 2009. Material and method: for the development of this study, a survey in medical records of patients was performed and the factors considered included: age, sex, presence of vices, and systemic conditions that affect the world’s population. The data obtained were analyzed quantitatively and recorded in a table. Result:  Considering all patient records analyzed (693), 340 affirmative responses were detected (49,06%) to one or more diseases. Cardiovascular diseases were the most prevalent (22,34%). Considering the prevalence of diseases related to age, the age of less than 20 years represented 16,32%; of 20-29 years, 43,06%; 30-39 years, 45,16%; 40-44 years, 48,64%; 45-49 years, 56,25%; 50-54 years, 58,33%; 55-59 years, 57,74%; 60-64 years, 70,37%; 65-69 years, 66,66%; and 70 years or more, 68,75%. Conclusion: diseases and systemic alterations with higher prevalence were cardiovascular diseases, anemia, sinusitis and diabetes. The frequency of affirmative answers to systemic conditions was age-dependent and there was a predominance of females. The tobacco addiction was the most frequent. Thus, it was found that the preoperative assessment of the health of patients who will undergo surgical dental treatment is of fundamental importance.

Neste trabalho será comprovado que esta técnica utilizada na fotografia impressa, pode ser utilizada na prática na filmagem. Se utilizando apenas de termos técnicos utilizados em Direção de Fotografia, no seu nível avançado, aqui serão explicadas as relações matemáticas que irão clarear o funcionamento, relacionados a exposição, das ferramentas que uma câmera possui, como íris, o shutter, o ISO e o Filtro ND exemplificando suas relações com a medida de luz denominada Stop. Posteriormente, serão apresentadas ferramentas que auxiliam a monitoração da captação da imagem, como Waveform, cartão cinza 18% e Fotômetro. Todas estas informações serão utilizadas para a construção do conhecimento do Sistema de Zonas, criado por Ansel Adams, que será comprovado por exemplos reais na última parte do terceiro capítulo

By reading the stories, by adults, children are immersed in an imaginary world which stimulates the drawing, the music, to leave, thinking, imagining, playing, seeing the book and write, so the allies books Early Childhood Education will help the child, making it capable person, critical and interested in learning. In addition to attracting and marvel children, illustrations and graphic design aroused the interest in books and reading, inspiring the imagination and creation, therefore, the books submitted for babies should be made of materials that are suitable for their age group therefore more resistant and attractive, containing attributes for the development of motor and sensory skills of babies and children

Análise dos métodos de leira estática e de revolvimento manual na compostagem de resíduos orgânicos gerados em restaurante universitário

Composting is considered a process that enables adding value to organic solid waste turning them into organic fertilizer. In this process, factors such as mishandling the windrow, failed to control the temperature, aeration and moisture content will result in the quality of waste decomposition, and thus affect the quality of the final compound. Decentralized systems such as home composting, composting in restaurants, food courts and schools are one of the solutions for valuing these waste in a non expensive way and with greater quality. For this purpose, the project aims to analyze the conditions for composting of solid waste of the University Restaurant of Rio Claro- SP, through two different composting systems: manual revolving windrow and static pile. It was found that in University Restaurant (RU) on average 33% by weight of the total waste generated in the property are capable of composting. In this sense, in order to investigate the preliminary process operation parameters were mounted one manual windrow composed of 100% of the UR waste and a static pile composed of 60% of the UR waste and 40% of pruning and grass residues (PG). This study analyzed the manual revolving windrow and static pile systems for the parameters: moisture content, pH, C / N ratio and temperature. The study of the proportions of the PG and UR waste pointed to the need for pruning and grass residues addition for composting, considering that the manual revolving windrow composed by 100% of the UR waste had no satisfactory performance due to low temperatures measured during 60 days analysis. The best ratio for manual revolving windrow method analyzed in this study was 60% of the UR waste and 40% of PG waste, in dry weight. Aspectos clínicos influentes no planejamento das próteses sobre implantes tipo overdenture e protocolo

The aim of his study was to review the current scientific literature in order to discuss the surgical, prosthetics and psychological/psychosocial aspects during the treatment planning of edentulous patients, when a total fixed prosthesis or overdenture is indicated. To identify studies to take part in this review, a search was conducted for the following databases: PubMed, Dentistry and Oral Sciences Source, Journals@Ovid, SpringerLink, Wiley Online Library, Nature (NPG), Oxford Journals. It was used as descriptors: total fixed prostheses and overdentures. Inclusion criteria were: clinical articles, clinical case reports, case series, literature reviews and systematic reviews that addressed the study and comparison of total fixed prostheses and overdentures for a surgical- prosthetic planning. Exclusion criteria were: laboratory and in vitro studies and those whose first language was not English or Portuguese. Of a total of 454 articles, after an analysis according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, 76 articles were selected. During an implantsupported prosthesis rehabilitation with dental in edentulous patients, the use of alternative procedures appear to be effective when compared to more invasive surgical techniques, and thus, the amount of dental implants possible to install associated with prosthetic issues such as lip support, smile line, quantity and quality of mucosa, phonetics, etc., will allow an appropriate treatment planning to each clinical case
