Integrated analysis environment for the Movement Assessment Battery for Children

Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), a chronic and usually permanent condition found in children, is characterized by motor impairment that interferes with a child's activities of daily living and with academic achievement. One of the most popular tests for the quantitative diagnosis of DCD is the Movement Assessment Battery for Children (MABC). Based on the Battery's standardized scores, it is possible to identify children with typical development, children at risk of developing DCD, and children with DCD. This article describes a computational system we developed to assist with the analysis of results obtained in the MABC test. The tool was developed for the web environment and its database provides integration of MABC data. Thus, researchers around the world can share data and develop collaborative work in the DCD field. In order to help analysis processes, our system provides services for filtering data to show more specific sets of information and present the results in textual, table, and graphic formats, allowing easier and more comprehensive evaluation of the results.

Uso de sistemas de comunicação suplementar e alternativa na Educação Infantil: percepção do professor

Augmentative and Alternative Communication Resources have proven to be helpful in the insertion of students with disabilities and complex communication needs into a variety of pedagogical activities and expand the skills and competencies of the teacher in the teaching-learning. The objective of this research was to identify the perception of teachers regarding the use of augmentative and alternative communication during an intervention program in Preschool. Participants were a special class of Preschool students with disabilities and severe communication complexity, along with their teacher and the researcher. For the development of this research, a Alternative Communication Program was applied. The teacher was provided with systematic guidance concerning language and communication. In a collaborative process, three children’s songs were selected according to the teacher’s pedagogical planning and adapted resources through Augmentative and Alternative Communication Systems. During the intervention program, assisted evaluations also took place immediately after the activities with the music. The data were collected in audio recordings. For data analysis, content analysis was carried out resulting in the outlining of themes and subthemes. Results indicated that the teacher identified that Augmentative and Alternative Communication Systems can to facilitate expression abilities of students with disabilities; that Augmentative and Alternative Communication Systems can be used by children in Preschool; and that resources adapted through augmentative and alternative communication systems should be in accordance with the specificities of students.

Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação em Bibliotecas Escolares: em busca de um espaço dinâmico

The Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) can be combined with the acquisition of academic knowledge and cultural development of students, as they improve their information literacy, and why not say, also digital. Weaim in this research seek references and present experiences that encourage a new concept of school library with the use of ICT in teaching and learning in individual and collective development of the student community. To complement this study we prioritized the following objectives: to insert the technology into the routine of a school library; identify the informational and technological profile of adolescents; understand the needs and technological resources they use to obtain information in daily life and also analyze the importance the effective participation of the school library in the educational context of the school, through greater interaction between the librarian, teacher and pedagogical coordination seeking a cooperative and informal ICT teaching and learning for along with the students, sharing the search for information and knowledge, in a conscious and responsible way. Chosen as theoretical foundation the cognitive studies of Jean Piaget, witch explains how the stages of assimilation and accommodation of knowledge in cooperative practices work. As a methodology was developed a participatory-action research, to learn the behavioral state of young people and adolescents, based on the model of information search for the everyday life (Everyday Life Information Seeking) – ELIS, developed by Finnish researcher Savoleinen (2006), as well as identify the informational and technological profile of adolescents from two selected approaches in the scientific literature (HUGUES-HASSEL; AGOSTO, 2007; UCL, 2008). Thus, came up the initiative to create a Confraternity of the Library in a collaborative digital environment, providing the participants discussion and learning technologies as well as digital information literacy enhancement.

Colaboração entre professores e bibliotecários no contexto escolar

The school library is a preferential placefor the contact of students with various informationresources and action of librarians and teachers, likemediators in order to enhance this experience. Thecollaborative relationship between this mediators isessential for planning and implementing activitiesfor learning. This article discusses some aspects ofcollaborative work between teachers and librarianand presents the results of applying a model ofcollaboration with the two librarians in Marília-SP, Brazil. Data collection was conducted withlibrarians from two schools, through interviews.The analysis was performed using the technique ofcontent analysis from four models of collaboration.It is noticed that the models are applicable tothe brazilian context and that there is a model ofcooperation prevailing in the participating schools.KEYWORDS: School library. Catalogação, formas de representação e construções mentais

The cataloging process, is responsible for building systems consisting of sets of interconnected elements and combined forms of representation, creating tools to facilitate the flow of information in various informational environments. It presents structures that offer favorable conditions for access to formal codes of symbolic representation and to the channels of information transfer, performing with competence the decoding and encoding of codes and rules used to represent knowledge and to describe information, documents and resources. The objective of this paper is to present the challenge of transforming operational data into consistent information, the role of the forms of representation and the mental constructions for defining the memory markers of users of catalogs. It shows as results the memory markers indicated by three categories of users for the description of a book like resource and points to the need of collaborative and cooperative work in cataloging and to the need of catalog modelling focused on the user.

The purpose of this research project is to analyze the Convergence Culture, a term coined by Henry Jenkins, to refer to the cultural transformation we are experiencing - people want to produce their own content, share their stories, expand their experiences and make connections to different platforms media. That is, individuals have changed their position once considered passive and accommodating to sustain an environment of intense involvement, construction and collective pursuit of new experiences. So that we could reach that culture converged, there was a paradigm shift from an asymmetric communication for communication increasingly bilateral. Inclusão escolar de um aluno com autismo: descrevendo práticas de alfabetização em uma escola pública - ciclo I

Learning the written language has been the subject of research and study of various sciences in recent decades, in the same way that inclusion in regular education of students with disabilities such as autism, also has been the subject of discussions in the academic and even political. However, it can be observed that these two topics are disjointed, despite the importance of ownership of the system of writing by students with autism, because that would be a way to facilitate social interaction, which is the principal difficulty of this students. This research intend to describe the inclusion process of a student with autism into a common room of the initial years, in a public school, observing which are the strategies used by the teacher in the literacy process, as well as analyze the collaborative process developed by the researcher. The methodology was a qualitative and collaborative research, the kind of case study. The participants were a teacher and her students, from the cycle I of Primary School of a public school, among which, one is diagnosed with autism. The instruments used to the data’s analysis were interviews, with the teacher and the mother of the student with autism; the written productions of the student during the research; camp diary; and the observations made during the research. To the interventions, were used alternative practices, including material production (a mobile alphabet and a album of photos), that make more easy the process of literacy, The results showed the great difficulty in performing the interventions in a collaborative process, considering that in the observations, it was found that the practices of this teacher were traditional, and also there was no planning, on her part, content to be deal with the students. This study examined the practices of crowdfunding, collective vehicle of fundraising for the production of works of culture, education, social programs etc over the internet. Through the analysis of registered projects and finalized in Brazilian site funding col-laborative Catarse, we were able to list interesting points to be considered to deter-mine what lead people to cooperate or not with this kind of practice. It was noticed that the internet materialized in front of individuals as an important vehicle for social participation, enabling the concern to collaborate on projects, people and causes that have common characteristics or interests bring benefits to society

Contributos da Ciência do Sistema Terra para a Educação Científica - Construção de Materiais e Práticas Interdisciplinares

O Ensino de Ciência do Sistema Terra constitui o eixo articulador de um programa, que integra ações educacionais e de investigação, tendo por objetivo central o desenvolvimento e aplicação de propostas educacionais que incorporam princípios da complexidade. O programa articula as ações educacionais no âmbito de uma investigação-ação. As ações são realizadas em contextos de educação formal e envolvem comunidades escolares da rede pública do município de São José do Rio Preto (SP, Brasil). Os trabalhos e as ações consideram as diretrizes curriculares e as políticas educativas vigentes e seus resultados revelam-se na construção de materiais e práticas polidisciplinares, que exploram as conexões existentes entre as diferentes áreas do conhecimento para ensinar os conteúdos curriculares, em prol de uma educação científica mais efetiva e pertinente. Os resultados, até então obtidos, revelam alguns contributos das ações educacionais e de investigação do programa que, ao potenciar e incentivar o trabalho colaborativo, o diálogo multidisciplinar e a reflexão crítica, favorecem o desenvolvimento de uma percepção mais acurada do significado e alcance da educação científica para a formação do indivíduo e das sociedades.

O laboratório de ensino de ciências como espaço privilegiado para o planejamento de regência nos estágios supervisionados

El objetivo de este estudio fue investigar la posible contribución del desarrollo la Planificación de la Regencia en el Laboratorio de Enseñanza de la Ciencia para el curso de enseñanza en Biología. Con este fin, se aplicó un cuestionario abierto a 16 estudiantes de la Licenciatura en Ciencias Biológicas de la UnB, la identificación de la percepción inicial de la actividad en el inicio del curso, los cambios en estas percepciones a través del tiempo y sus opiniones sobre el potencial y las limitaciones de utilizar este espacio para la preparación de las clases. Por experiencia, los estudiantes reportaron la percepción del laboratorio como un espacio de colaboración que proporciona mejoras en la práctica, y facilitar el acceso a diversos materiales para las clases de enriquecimiento. Las actividades del Laboratorio de Enseñanza permitió el escenario se reunieron los aspectos fundamentales de la formación docente constituye un espacio de reflexión sobre la construcción y el fortalecimiento de la identidad docente

Collaborative language learning in Teletandem: a resource for pre-service teacher education

This article presents some of the results of a qualitative research project about the influences of the pedagogic strategies used by a mediator (graduate student in applied linguistics) in the supervision process of a Teletandem partner (undergraduate student in languages) on her pedagogical practice. It was done within the project Teletandem Brazil: foreign language for all. Based on the reflective teaching paradigm and collaborative language learning, with special emphasis on tandem learning, we analyzed the contributions of the collaborative relationship established between the graduate student and the student-teacher in her first teaching experience. The results bring about implications for the field of language teacher education in a perspective of education within practice, evidencing the experience of collaborative learning in teletandem as an opportunity for reflective teacher education of pre-service teachers.
