Inorganic phosphorus (Pi) usually controls the P availability in tropical soils, but the contribution of organic P (Po) should not be neglected, mainly in systems with low P input or management systems that promote organic matter accumulation. The aims of this study were to evaluate the changes in the Po fractions over time in soil fertilized and not fertilized with cattle manure and to correlate Po forms with available P extracted by anion exchange resin. The experiment was carried out under field conditions, in a sandy-clay loam Haplustox. The experimental design was a 2 x 9 randomized complete block factorial design, in which the first factor was manure application (20 t ha(-1)) or absence, and the second the soil sampling times (3, 7, 14, 21, 28, 49, 70, 91, and 112 days) after manure incorporation. Labile, moderately labile and non-labile Po fractions were determined in the soil material of each sampling. Manure fertilization increased the Po levels in the moderately labile and non-labile fractions and the total organic P, but did not affect the Po fraction proportions in relation to total organic P. On average, 5.1 % of total Po was in the labile, 44.4 % in the moderately labile and 50.5 % in the non-labile fractions. Available P (resin P) was more affected by the manure soluble Pi rather than by the labile Po forms. The labile and non-labile Po fractions varied randomly with no defined trend in relation to the samplings; for this reason, the data did not fit any mathematical model.

Despite the great development of organic and polymeric electroluminescent materials, the large scale commercial application of devices made with these materials seems conditioned to specific cases, mainly due to the high cost and the low durability, in compared to conventional technologies. In this study was produced electroluminescent devices by a process simple, drop casting. Were produced electroluminescent films containing Zn2SiO4:Mn immersed in a conductive polymer blend with different thicknesses. The morphological characteristics of these films were studied by scanning electronic microscopy. These films were used in the manufacture of electroluminescent devices, in which the light emission properties of the developed material were evaluated. The blend was composed of the conductive polymer Poly(o-methoxyaniline), doped with p-toluene sulfonic acid, and an insulating polymer, Poly(vinylidene fluoride) and its copolymer Poly(vinylidene fluoride-cotrifluoroethylene). To this blend was added Zn2SiO4:Mn, thereby forming the composite. A first set of devices was obtained using composites with different weight fraction of polymeric and inorganic phases, which were deposited by drop casting over ITO substrates. Upper electrodes of aluminum were deposited by thermal evaporation. The resulting device architecture was a sandwich type structure ITO/ composite/ Al. A second set of devices was obtained as self-sustaining films using the best composite composition obtained for the device of the first set. ITO electrodes were deposited by RF-Sputtering, in both faces of these films. The AC electrical characterization of the devices was made with impedance spectroscopy measurements, and the DC electrical characterization was performed using a source/ meter unit Keithley 2410. The devices light emission was measured using a photodiode coupled to a digital electrometer, Keithley 6517A. The devices electrooptical characterization showed that the...

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effi ciency of oregano, sage, moringa and rosemary as natural antioxidants and propyl gallate as artifi cial antioxidant used in “stuffed food” made with CMS of tilapia (minced fi sh) and stored frozen for 120 days. Protein, fat, moisture and ashes determination, microbiological analysis and sensory evaluations were conducted in the beginning and the end of storage period. TBARS, BNVT, pH and psychrotrophic microorganism count were determined periodically. The antioxidants interfered in pH (6.17 and 6.55) and TBARS values during 120 days under freezing (-18o C). The lowest TBA values were found for oregano (0.158 mg de MDA. kg-1) and sage (0.186 mg de MDA.kg-1). The stuffed food made with CMS of tilapia, without antioxidant, had the most oxidation, and sage and moringa were not good source of antioxidant. BNVT values (11.41 – 12.35 mgN.100g-1) were not altered. The lowest pH value was found for the product with sage (6.20), but similar to the moringa and propyl gallate, while oregano and rosemary showed the highest values (6.63 and 6.29), at 5 days of storage. Microbiological analyses were in accordance with Brazilian legislation. Sensory evaluation indicated that the panelists preferred the formulations made with oregano and propyl gallate. The results showed that it is feasible to elaborate stuffed food made with CMS of tilapia as an alternative for the fi shery´s consumption, and sage was the most effi cient natural antioxidant among those tested in this study.
