This scientific research aimed at presenting a comparative analysis of softwares used to represent the processes of flood wave and debris flow. For this, a literature review was performed on these processes and on simulation models used to represent them. Then, a research on scientific database and developers’ websites was performed to identify the softwares used to simulate these processes. This step was performed based on specific criteria such as the type of simulation performed by the software, its practical applications and a user friendly interface. A free distribution and totally functional software was chosen and its simulation mechanisms were tested through a simulation exercise and the results interpreted based on data on measured in the Basin of Ribeirão Marins section Monjolinho located in Piracicaba - SP. With respect to the processes, it was sought to present the dynamics, constraints, parameters and variables used to understand them and for the simulation models were presented the conceptual aspects of mathematical modeling including the steps of the simulation process and the different types of simulation models used to represent them. In total, 20 softwares were identified, and the software object of analysis was the ABC 6 that performs simulation of flood wave. Through the simulation exercise, it was observed that were presented overestimated values of flow compared to measured data in the basin. For both hypotheses were raised about the causes of the discrepancy between the observed and simulated flow. It has been concluded that the simulation process consisted of a complex procedure where generalizations, misrepresentations and simplifications may occur due to the data used and the method adopted, but it is a useful tool in planning and decision making in various types of studies and environmental projects

The technological advances of recent decades combined with digital inc1usion in Brazil sparked the country's population to the constant use of computers to perform tasks in many different natures. Whether it's for communication, entertainment, work or school, computers are tools with increasing numbers in Brazilian homes. Along with this evolution the Brazilian Physics teaching should be aware of the use of teaching tools that relate directly to the computer to student learning. Highlighting in this work we have scanned the contents of the Wikipedia community, a wide variety of educational videos placed on YouTube, educational games that try to teach the player in a fun way and a variety educational softwares placed on the World Wide Web. It is with special attention to educational softwares as tools for teaching physics, which describe some strategies for use of these software, combined with the textbooks, to illustrate some ways to introduce the use of educational softwares directly in the classroom

A utilização de programas computacionais específicos como ferramentas para análise estatística em identificação humana e de vínculos genéticos tem se tornado imprescindível, principalmente em casos de maior complexidade ou em grande escala. A análise de casos em que há genealogia incompleta gera resultados inconclusivos tornado os cálculos estatísticos mais laboriosos, consumindo tempo e pessoal qualificado. Os objetivos desse estudo são: o estudo simulado de casos reais de identificação humana e vínculos genéticos em situações especiais (meios irmãos na ausência dos pais, reconstrução), utilizando programas computacionais livres de cálculos estatísticos como ferramenta; a verificação do melhor programa livre de análise estatística disponível para utilização nos centros públicos brasileiros; e o levantamento estatístico dos casos reais brasileiros (vínculos genéticos, negatória, exclusão) para se obter uma visão da realidade brasileira em relação às suas relações familiares. Os principais métodos foram: análise das informações contidas nas fichas de registro e documentos anexados aos exames de vínculo genético dos participantes; e inserção nos softwares dos resultados de perfis genéticos obtidos de diferentes casos, de acordo com as especificações de uso. A amostra populacional dos casos analisados nesse trabalho incluiu 3.871 indivíduos. Em relação aos casos reais brasileiros, o exame de vínculo genético mais requisitado foi o de paternidade tipo trio; 68% dos casos incluíram o suposto pai como o pai biológico e 27% dos supostos pais estavam registrados na certidão de nascimento do filho e requisitaram o exame de paternidade para confirmá-la. In modern industry we see a growing need for answers cheaper, accurate and quick to deliver solutions and products to be able to remain competitive. In this way the inclusion of open source software and Rapid Prototyping tools have proven very important to obtain the expected results. This work, through information gathering, analysis software and their applicability, search tools commercially available rapid prototyping will demonstrate the importance of these tools and will also present possible configurations for a space for rapid prototyping within the university, as a proposal to implement a rapid prototyping laboratory at the Faculdade de Engenharia de Guaratinguetá

Suitable computacional tools allow to build applications that can link information to its physical location, and represent them into visual and interactive schemes, e ectively reaching the power of visual comunication. This leads the user to synthesize information in a simple and e cient way. These applications are linked to the de nition of Geographic Information System (GIS). GIS are comprised by many concepts and tools, which have the main purpose of collecting, storing, viewing and processing spatial data, obtaining the information needed for decision making. Within this context, this paper presents the Conception and Implementation of a Control System for Urban Forestry through Integration of Free and Open Source Software. This conception arose from the need of an Environmental Project developed by the Agriculture's House of the city of Regente Feij o, which has as main objectives cataloging and management of urban a orestation of the municipality. Due to this diversity of concepts, the challenge in building this system is the integration of platforms that are involved in all stages: collecting and storage of data, including maps and other spatial information, operations on the stored information, obtaining results and graphical visualization of the same. After implementation, it was possible to provide for the system users an improvement in the capacity of perception in the information analysis and facilitate the process of decision making

Based on data of global impression acceptance tests of 4 cachaças samples, sensory evaluated by 120 judges, statistical parametric and non-parametric proceedings were compared. In this way, based on the sensory acceptance obtained data, 5400 systematic samples were created with different judges numbers and submitted to the established statistical proceedings. The obtained results showed that ANOVA, with two factors and Friedman tests, were equivalent to determine signifi cant differences among the cachaça samples, and in relation to the number of judges, the results pointed out 45 as the minimum necessary to detect signifi cative differences.
