O lazer e a difusão da moral protestante

This study of qualitative nature, aimed to investigate the relations arising from experiences in the context of leisure in recreational activities offered in religious camps, with the spread of Protestant moral values .. The study was conducted with the union of literature and exploratory research. First, we sought to understand, through the specific literature, the Protestant society manifestation with its ethics and values, showing how leisure has been sought and appropriated by Protestants institutions. Subsequently, we developed an exploratory research, using as instrument for data collection a mixed questionnaire, applied to a purposeful sample comprised of participants of a religious camp of Protestant institution. Data were analyzed descriptively by Technical Analysis of Thematic Content and indicate that the activities offered at religious camp can diffuse Protestant values directly intentioned, in order to carry religious values so intrinsic to the task, and, indirectly meaning as a tool of evangelism, which are supporting the process of transmission of these values

Experimentação e educação ambiental: contribuições metodológicas

During the last centuries, the human being have been considered the center of the universe. The man believed that nature was at his disposal. Appropriated their processes, their cycles changed, redefined their spaces. Today, when faced with an environmental crisis which threatens the planet life, including the human life, the Science Education can contribute to a reconstruction of man-nature relationship in other terms. The transformation of teaching practices in the school environment, to be reflective, it is still a process that challenges the vast majority of teachers. As has been indicated by Guerra (2004), among others, the traditional teaching of content delivery is still very strong and certainly more deeply embedded in ideas and activities of the teachers who focus on environmental education. With it, a theory and pedagogical discourses in critical-reflexive actions is still a major obstacle. Therefore, new proposals for education and continuing education activities need to be formulated and presented based on the characteristics and needs breathing. Therefore propose changes in the way of teaching, where there is more room for a theory and praxis alone or with a only scientific truth. The scenery of society requires that knowledge is constructed to interconnect all disciplines, joining theory and practice so we can understand the whole and their relations in an integrated manner. It was proposed here a way to build a school and applying theoretical and practical activities involving experimental and seeking to meet the principles of Environmental Education for the training of citizens aware and critical. At the same time cares to use textbooks very rich in its pedagogical character that are present in schools and often are, forgotten and unused by teachers. Chuva, vulnerabilidade social e percepção do risco na cidade de São Paulo: impactos de eventos extremos nos bairros da Freguesia do Ó e do M’Boi Mirim

The city of São Paulo has, since the beginning of the expansion of its urban sprawl, represented relations of conflicts and contradictions between society and nature. Once the way society relates to nature is defined by how the social agents themselves correlate in certain social and historical contexts, the ways of interaction between the social and natural elements will be different according to the forms of production and appropriation of the urban space. Even more evident is the case of the great national metropolis, given its demographic dimensions and historical conditions, the process of urban expansion follows a logic where spaces of better quality for housing are occupied by those of better financial conditions. Thus, although there are exceptions, the poorest people live in places less desirable, in less resilient environments of lower environmental quality, relating to nature and its phenomena with greater risks. These risks are reflected here as recurring flooding, mudslides and landslides for which the rain is constantly blamed. So we have a situation where it is clear that a weather phenomenon differently interacts with different social groups. In this context, the study was conducted to compare extreme events occurred in two regions of São Paulo: the Freguesia do O, in the north side, and M'Boi Mirim, in the south side. Both are regions with large number of risk areas and are in the same urban climate unit. However, they present different conditions of social vulnerability. With the investigation of each extreme rain event occurred in the two regions, in the period of 2000-2010, supplemented by field research, we tried to observe how far the rain, with his intensity and volume, can, in fact, be related to the accidents.

The perception of modern society regarding the nature and indigenous peoples came to be shaped in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, with two major events, the invasion of Europeans in America and the scientific revolution. These events symbolize the cultural overlap and European thinking about the rest of the world. The current scenario is industrialism, consumism and cultural standardization driven by Cartesian thought. This work demonstrates, through literature research and data analysis, that this dominant model has caused the crisis of modernity, focusing especially on the environmental crisis that threatens human life. The solutions are present in the modern society the knowledge of indigenous peoples that is inherently ecological and sustainable by tradition. From the union of diverse cultures and knowledge dialog you can find solutions for today's problems and provide a renewal of relationships between modern society, indigenous peoples and nature. The World Conscious Pact presents this proposal which can be increased through public relations strategies in order to reconnect the man-nature bond, generating critical behavior with respect to the current dominant system and motivate society to adopt truly ecological postures. Porous silica matrix obtained from pyrex class by hydrothermal treatment: Characterization and nature of the porosity

A novel porous silica matrix has been prepared from Pyrex glass, using hydrothermal treatment under saturated-steam condition. This process makes it possible to obtain, in one step, a silica support formed of a homogeneously distributed and interconnected macropore microstructure. The new matrix contains silanol groups that can be used in reactions of surface modification to provide a hybrid material and a selective macrofiltration membrane, and also it can improve chemical inertness. The porous matrix is noncrystalline as obtained and, after thermal treatment at temperatures higher than 950degreesC, exhibits an X-ray pattern characteristic of alpha-cristobalite and low volume contraction. The present samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, mercury intrusion porosimetry, nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms, infrared spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffractometry, atomic absorption, and high-resolution solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance. The results present a new way of producing a macroporous silica matrix.
