O regime de metas de inflação no Brasil: um exame teórico e empírico de seu funcionamento

The Inflation targeting regime is a concept of monetary policy which was adopted by several countries in the 90’s; Brazil being among these countries, having adopted it in 1999 after a currency crisis. With it theoretical structure regulated by the New – Classical theory and having as its main characteristic the prior announcement of a numerical target for the inflation, this regime was adopted by countries attempting to achieve a prices stability. The present project is going to explain the theoretical basis of the regime, as well as its implementation process in Brazil and the criticism it received. However, the main focus will be on the discussion of the employment of the IPCA (Consumer Price Index) as a measuring index for Brazil’s inflation

Análise da expressão protéica de moléculas de adesão celular em melanomas cutâneos

Cutaneous melanoma is a malignancy caused by the uncontrolled proliferation of melanocytes. Has been increasing in incidence and mortality over the years. This type of tumor may arise in the skin or any other place where there was migration of neural crest cells. Melanocytes are located in the basal layer of the epidermis forming the epidermal melanin unit, involving a melanocyte to 36 keratinocytes. The proliferation of melanocytes depends on this relationship with the keratinocytes, gap junctions, E-cadherin and desmoglein. The basal membrane is responsible for promoting the integrity of the skin, their adhesion structures shown to be altered in several skin diseases. Some molecules that play the role of adherence in this membrane are the laminins, type IV collagen and type XVII and perlecan. Analysis of protein expression of cell adhesion molecules in melanoma by immunohistochemistry on tissue microarray (TMA). We selected paraffin blocks of patients who were diagnosed with cutaneous melanoma in the period 1995 to 2010, reaching a sample of 124 cases. All these have gone through review of preparation for subsequent histological analysis of tissue microarray (TMA). The protein expression will be analyzed by immunohistochemistry, using markers anti-laminin, anti-collagen type IV and type XVII and anti-perlecan. There was a predominance of female patients, Caucasians and southeastern Brazil. There were frequent in type of extensive superficial ulcers with Breslow depth greater than 4 mm, Clark level IV and mitotic index greater than 6 mitoses per cga. The patients, most of them were female with mean age of 57.13 years and Caucasian. The most frequent histological type was extensive superficial followed by acral lentiginous. Predominated cases very deep, with Breslow thickness greater than 4 mm, Clark IV, ulcerated and on average by 9 cga mitosis, leading to worse prognosis in this sample. Proliferação e Morte Celular (Apoptose) avaliadas em ratos Lewis após tratamento com mistura de praguicidas em baixas doses

The use of pesticides in Brazil has intensified over the years. And since 2009 it was ranked as the largest market for pesticides worldwide. The consequential diffuse contamination of the environment is therefore due to the increasing number of chemicals of different classes, origins and modes of action. Little is known about the action of pesticides on human health in situations of co-exposure. Possible toxic effects are not restricted to agricultural and industrial workers, but also the general population that may be exposed continuously to its residues in food and water. Although these pesticides are mostly present in the environment at low doses, it must be considered that possible cumulative or synergistic effects may occur when there are concurrent or sustained exposure for two or more of these agents, which can lead to late manifestation of subclinical damages, sometimes irreversible. Thus, the specific objective of this study was to assess the effect of carcinogenesis promotion of a mixture of pesticides at low doses and analyze the phenomena of cell proliferation and apoptosis in rat liver. A total of 50 male Lewis rats was separated into 5 groups for 8 weeks in a medium term hepatocarcinogenesis model. The three different classes of pesticides (dieldrin, dicofol, endosulfan, dichlorvos and permethrin), whose residues were detected by ANVISA during the period from 2001 to 2005 in tomatoes cultures, were added to the feed of rats initiated to hepatocarcinogenesis with diethylnitrosamine (DEN- 200mg/kg ip). Células-Tronco e Terapia Celular: Suporte didático para o ensino fundamental e médio

Nos últimos anos, as pesquisas com células-tronco têm despertado um grande interesse nos meios de comunicação, levando a população a encarar esse novo conhecimento científico como sendo um método promissor para a cura de inúmeras doenças até agora, tidas como incuráveis. Deste modo, mostra-se fundamental que o ensino de Biologia se volte para o desenvolvimento de competências que permitam ao aluno entender, discutir, questionar, analisar, adquirir um posicionamento crítico diante das informações postas e fazendo uso dos conhecimentos adquiridos, servir como multiplicadores do conhecimento científico. Este trabalho tem como objetivo central a produção de um material didático contendo informações a respeito das células-tronco, quanto aos tipos, características, classificações, métodos de coleta e as terapias desenvolvidas no Brasil. Informações estas que servem como auxílio para professores de Ciências e Biologia, na compreensão e atualização perante as inovações científicas relacionadas às células-tronco. O capítulo 6 vem como uma sugestão de atividades possíveis a serem desenvolvidas a partir desse tema. Análise da demanda de fertilizantes no Brasil: um estudo econométrico através da modelagem arima

A simulação de tendências futuras no setor de fertilizantes encaminha o produtor rural a prevenir-se de bruscas variações de preços, possibilitando maior poder de concorrência no cenário internacional. Para tanto, propõe-se a utilização da metodologia ARIMA para se estimar a demanda do consumo de fertilizantes no Brasil. Primeiramente revisitando a literatura especializada, obtendo informações históricas relevantes, além de avaliar as vicissitudes do cenário atual. A segunda parte introduz os conceitos da metodologia ARIMA , e encerrando com a apresentação dos dados e análises estatísticas da previsão 2012 à 2016

From the agri-food crisis of 2007/2008, we live an intensifying period in the global land rush. The land grabbing is analyzed as a process that occurs on a global scale, especially to countries in Africa and Latin America, the main targets of the current global competition for land, because beyond the earth have low prices and the legislation be flexible, low and ineffective supervision of the state (especially in the issue of environmental and labor laws), also have vast tracts of arable land, with fertile soils and high availability of water resources (the latter element has become relevant in that case analysis). In addressing the land foreignization in the XXI century it is necessary to speak about the issue of biofuels and bioenergy, since it is these that define the current phase of land foreignization in Brazil. In the 1970s occurred the first incentive to produce ethanol in the sugarcane cultivation, with the policy of the National Alcohol Program (PROALCOOL). From the 2000s this interest again sharpened up and foreign capital began to see in Brazil a great opportunity for a production facility and purchase of old agro-processing plants that were implanted in PROALCOOL period but who were disabled. This is the case of Umoe Bioenergy, Norwegian company that in 2006 started its production in the municipalities of Narandiba and Sandhurst, located in the Pontal do Paranapanema region that, in turn, is the region of São Paulo with larger agrarian conflicts, settlements land reform, land grabbing and high poverty rates...

A indústria farmacêutica no Brasil: um estudo do impacto socioeconômico dos medicamentos genéricos

Recently, some countries outside the Triad (Japan, Europe and the United States) have assumed an important role in the pharmaceutical scenario, as large producers, among them stand out Brazil. In the 90s, there were major institutional transformations and the pharmaceutical industry has undergone a reverse specialization process, because liberalization has discouraged production of pharmaceutical chemicals and dependence of imports increased. The law of generics medicines in 1999 emerged as an attempt to increase the population's access to medicines equivalent to ones with brand, with more affordable prices. As a result of this law there was a strengthening of the national capital and a major attraction for foreign companies to brazilian market. This study aims to assess the development trajectory of the country, showing how path-dependence has culminated in greater empowerment of national pharmaceutical industries after the Generics Law in 1999

With a theoretical framework inspired by the new-classical theory, this regime is adopted by countries attempting to achieve price stability and it brings the prior announcement of a numerical target for inflation as a key feature. The present work aims at discussing the use of IPCA (Consumer Price Index) as a measuring index for Brazil's inflation after briefly explain the theoretical basis of the IT regime.
