The aim of this study was to evaluate the interaction among meteorological variables and yield components of six sugarcane varieties and to establish appropriate varietal management at the Coastal Tablelands of the Alagoas State (Brazil). The sugarcane planting was carried out in September 2005, and three cane harvests were made in November 2006, 2007 and 2008. The experimental design was in randomized block with six treatments consisting of the varieties RB863129, RB867515, RB92579, RB93509, RB931003 and RB951541, with four replications. The growth variables evaluated were number and length of stalks, leaf area index, and productivity of stalks and sugar. On average, the crop water balance showed water deficit of 869 mm between September and March and excess of 837 mm from April to August. The irregularity of rainfall in the Coastal Tablelands promoted differential responses in the development and productivity of varieties of sugarcane. Varieties RB93509 and RB931003 are considered options for the varietal management in this region.

Evaluated the evapotranspiration (ETc) and the efficiency of water use (USA) by the fig tree 'Purple Valinhos' submitted to irrigation and mulching (bagacilho of sugar cane crushed) in the first production cycle, at conditions of Botucatu, St. Paul. We used the method of soil water balance and to obtain the reference evapotranspiration method was used Montheit FAO Penman 56. For the assessment of crop coefficients (kc) we adopted the following phenological distribution: phase 1 - between transplanting and 20% of the vegetative (DV), ii) phase 2 - 20 to 80% DV, and iii) phase 3 - fruiting. Observe the cumulative ETc 409.4 and 465.8 mm in 254 days after transplanting (DAT) and averages of 1.47 and 1.67 mm day(-1), with and without mulching (CC and SC). The crop coefficients (kc) mediums were 0.16, 0.43 and 0.49 for SC and 0.18, 0.44 and 0.50 for CC, in phases 1 and 3, respectively. The EUA values decrease with increasing the volume of water received and ranged between 1.65 and 3.32 kg of green figs per m(3) of water for irrigated SC and CC.

In the past years, soya has increased itself as the mean agro export culture in Brazil, encouraging the expansion of its agricultural frontier throughout the country. Brazil is the second biggest soya producer around the world, with a 59,8 million ton production in 2008, according to the Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), only behind United States. Around the country, the four leading producer states are Mato Grosso, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul e Goiás. Therefore, geotechnologies may be used to monitor use and soil occupation in various analyzes periods. In this review, the tools are important to illustrate the soya production areas and also the weather behavior around its production evolution in the territory through the years. Its utilization can contribute to the evolution and optimization around real time monitoring of the Agricola cultures, without being necessary to be in the area with a low financial cost. Generally, this information is strongly important for decision makers in both government and private sector, as soon as the achievement information regards the quantification of area, yield and development of agricultural crops are essential to the economic behavior of culture during the season and even beyond. By obtaining data regarding climate crops 2008/09 and 2009/10, held the climatic water balance calculation based on the dynamics of water storage in soil temperature and precipitation data, interpolation of the data through the interpolator (IDW) that generated thematic precipitation maps. Overall, the use of geotechnology to monitor agricultural areas, can strongly contribute to this monitoring, generating raw material for further analysis at low cost

The main aim of this paper was to use the REZZ software to calculate the tank volume rainwater harvesting system. For this purpose, rain data of Ponta Grossa-PR-Brazil were used considering different statistical treatment (average, 75%, 85%, 95% and 99% of confidence) and different roof areas (50, 80, 120 and 200 m2). The harvesting system was considered only for toilet flush in households with 3, 4 and 5 inhabitants. There were applied the following methods/concepts: Flow equalization (Rippl); Brazilian method as well the English and German practical methods. Further, the mass-balance was simulated for some conditions. All considered methods are described in NBR15527/07, the Brazilian standard for rainwater harvesting. As expected, the results pointed out for huge differences depending on the choice method and the statistical treatment of the rain data. The REZZ appliance showed to be useful thus permitting to set different conditions and to obtain rapid results in order to assist designers to adopt the best cistern volume for each particular case.
