Memória, envelhecimento e qualidade de vida: a perspectiva da psicologia cognitiva

The concern with aging has increased in recent decades throughout the world, before the gradual increase in life expectancy of the population. Researchers have been developing a diverse in nature, in order to subsidize the activities of professionals in the field of Gerontology to promote autonomy, preservation of cognitive functions and thus contribute to healthy aging. This article presents a review of the literature on memory and aging from the perspective of cognitive psychology. The bibliography contains studies focusing on different subjects, in this sense. A significant number of works have been undertaken in order to investigate mechanisms and benefits of training on memory in healthy elderly and / or cognitive improvement. A concept that deserves attention in such studies is the study of aspects of meta-memory. However, there are still relatively few controlled studies on the subject.

Qualidade de vida em mulheres com ausência ou presença de terapia de reposição hormonal

The objective of this study was to evaluate the quality of life (QL) of a group of menopausal women in the presence or absence of hormone replacement therapy (HRT). It consists of a cross-sectional analytical study involving women from the School Health Center - Unity Village Farmers' and Town Railway on the city of Botucatu. Participants were divided into two related groups of studies: run HRT and do not realize. We used the SF 36 and QRS, and a questionnaire to characterize the study population. No differences were seen when comparing the groups with regard to age, age at menarche and menopause. It was observed that 92% were white women and who have studied up to primary education (p = 0.0209), and those who had a partner (p = 0.0055), were the most reported changes in QL. The most frequent comorbidities were hypertension and diabetes, which is significantly more important in women without HRT. The account of the lower of QL was expressed by 28% of the sample, and the population obtained in MRS score more negative (p, 0.05). The correlation of the eight components of the SF36 and the MRS, with the presence or absence of TRH showed no significant differences. The concept of quality of life and evaluation of it is subjective and individual. However they can notice changes in QL, evidenced by instruments. One can see that menopause is not necessarily accompanied by changes in QL, however, when expressed, tend to be perceived more negatively. Despite the lower level of social and low education and women interviewed have QL as good. There is a need for studies to improve a more real relationship between HRT and QL

Espaço geográfico e educação: um estudo sobre o lugar do Conselho de Escola

In this text, the results of our research on the geographic location and establishing relationships with the School Council. We consider some legal aspects added to the evidence gathered in our experience to check how much the School Council is constituted as a non-state public place. The possibility of setting up this feature to see a meaning whose strength lies precisely in a healthy tension between the state and established community. Here is the legislation of the School Council of Suzano (SP) and some aspects of our experience from the practice of teaching at a school in Rio das Pedras (SP). We see the nature of the legal meaning assigned to this place from the study of law, considering the municipal, regional and federal levels. In the sphere of Geography use the concepts of Space, Place and City, as issues that are dear to that science. We used the concept of Topofilia to see if this particular place is the development of an individual's sense of belonging, and how it unfolds in the dynamic implications of the operation of this instrument of popular participation in the formulation of public policy education. Jogo baseado em simulação de vida artificial

The market of digital games have grown in the last years, becoming popular between many ages, the number of smartphones and tablets users have also showed a recent increase, including the ones using Android as operational system. The main objective of a digital game is the ludic activity but also it can be used as a tool to education, learning and even simulation. This work proposes the development of a game for smartphones or tablet running on Android operational system, this game will simulate living beings in an environment, each one with different behaviors, based in the concepts of artificial live, cellular automata and emergence. This way simulating the behavior of a living being community with a computational base in artificial live and following concepts of game design. The game can represent visually some characteristics of living beings, as well behaviors and interactions between them, in a very simple way. The game can be upgraded in the future to represent better living beings using more details to the simulation of these

Breves considerações sobre o conceito de natureza na genese da geografia moderna

From the twentieth century is witnessing a gradual increase in the debates and issues related to the degradation of nature, making the twenty-first century begins under the aegis of speeches linked to this concept as one of the axes of the concerns of humanity. There are several movements that are related to the degrading way of contemporary society and how we are called upon daily to save and defend nature, from the consumption of sustainable products through environmentally friendly lifestyles. While this may appear to be explicit that the current form of metabolic interaction man / nature in the current historical period of capitalism converges in a bleak scenario, however, there is an ideological and peacemaker convergence between productively and the systematic appeal to the consumption. Given these assumptions could be palpable the question that in the course of human history would be ideological conceptions of nature? Being a true statement what is the conflict present in the ideological struggle over nature with regard to the genesis of modern geography? Would it be overt or covert? These questions lead us to the present study, whose goal is to bring some notes about the ideological conceptions of the nature in human history, culminating in the possible influences upon the institutionalization of Modern Geography

A financeirização da moradia e o Programa Minha Casa Minha Vida

This paper has it is hypotesis on the government program “My Home, My Life” and the assumption that it is a public politic attached to the market logic of financialization of the housing. It is understood that this program encourage capital for the main constructors and incorporated of brazilian heritage elite. It also served as well to promote more rentability to international capital and intensified the sociospacial segregration process as real state speculation has been potencialized. This work aims to present and discuss the program contradictions that have been sustained on the speech of wide subsidy offer and habitance construcution for low income workers - month income until three minimum salaries. Documents have shown that in the first phase of the program, habitance construction for this sector of population corresponded only to 5,5% of total habitation deficit. Businessmen on residance civil construction and public politic representatives have confirmed that the program interests are linked to financial market logic.The real benefits are not for low income workers, but for real state agents through extraordinaty profits of land and the so called new medium workers class(worker class C).We will search for embasement on the country history through the different governments and housing policies, in value theory and the concept of land income to understand the financialization process of the housing. Fatores que influenciam a qualidade de vida de pessoas com epilepsia

Epilepsy is a chronic disorder that impairs life quality (LQ) and interferes in emotional, personal, social and family relationship aspects. This study evaluated 165 people with epilepsy diagnosis, ranging from 18 to 75 years old (M=41,28; SD= 13,26), by means of the QQV-65 (Life Quality Questionnaire with 65 questions) and investigated the association between the questionnaire scores and the disease features, comparing patients who showed refrectory seizures with patients with partially controled seizures. There was no difference in relation to the two groups regarding the LQ factor. The QQV-65 emotional factor was the most affected in both groups, since the estimated mean z-escore was 51,0±14,4 for Group I and 49,9±14,7 for Group II. Regarding the type of crisis, the analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed that Health was the only factor in QQV-65 that showed a statistically significant difference between the z-scores (P = 0.024). However, for the frequency of epileptic seizures, except Health (P = 0.185), other factors QQV-65 proved to be related in a statistically significant way (P> 0.05). The research demonstrated that seizure control perception is quite important in the evaluation of life quality in all its aspects (health, body, society, emotion, locus of control, self-concept and cognition).

Ensino do conceito de radioatividade utilizando a biografia de Marie Curie

Como objetivo de pesquisa esta monografia buscou coletar dados descritivos que permitissem esclarecer as possibilidades educativas para o ensino de química em uma abordagem contextual utilizando história e filosofia da química e da ciência. Esta monografia trata de uma intervenção feita dentro do cronograma de aulas de uma escola pública de Bauru, em que se buscou levar informações que possibilitassem uma abertura na perspectiva de vida de alunos que estudam e/ou vivem em meio a violência social e doméstica. A intervenção consistiu no estudo da história da descoberta da radioatividade, ensinada através da biografia de Marie Curie, a mulher que denominou o fenômeno dos raios invisíveis de radioatividade, em sua tese de doutorado. Ela também descobriu, por meio da mesma pesquisa que fundamentou a referida tese, dois elementos radioativos, o polônio e o rádio. Para o planejamento da pesquisa e a análise dos dados se utilizou a metodologia qualitativa de pesquisa, com enfoque na pesquisa-ação e técnicas de análise de conteúdo. Para a aplicação dessa aula foi elaborada uma atividade envolvendo história da química e das ciências naturais dentro de uma atividade de leitura. Utilizou-se o livro GÊNIO OBSESSIVO: O MUNDO INTERIOR DE MARIE CURIE de Bárbara Goldsmith como base para os textos utilizados em aula. Foi utilizado o livro MARIE CURIE E A BUSCA PELO RÁDIO de Beverly Birch, como fonte de ilustrações. Essas ilustrações, assim como outras imagens extraídas da internet, foram utilizadas para relacionar os fatos ocorridos durante a pesquisa de Marie, realizada com o auxílio do marido Pierre Curie, que era professor e pesquisador em física e trabalhava com fenômenos relacionados a piezeletricidade, entre outros fenômenos eletromagnéticos. A aula consistiu na aplicação de um questionário inicial para averiguar as idéias prévias que os alunos apresentavam sobre a radioatividade e o contexto...

The passion, understood by Aristotle, as a contingency which causes a change in the essence of the subject, was object of research of the Greek philosopher as rhetorical strategy used by the speaker to touch its listeners. The greimasian semiotics, enlarging the concept of Aristotle’s passion, understands it as the soul states of a subject that can be gathered form the analysis of a text. Reflections towards the passion discursivization and its persuasion effects in advertisements lead us to establish the relationships between passion, myth and ways of life.

O conceito de saúde geral e bucal na visão dos cuidadores de idosos

The aim of this study was to analyze the perception of elderly caregivers in relation to the meaning of general and oral health and about oral health status of the institutionalized aged. It was performed a qualitative study, using Discourse of Collective Subject method. It were interviewed 42 caregivers who worked in longterm care facilities of Araçatuba City, SP and Passo Fundo City, RS – Brazil, applying a structured questionnaire. The interviews were recorded and transcript to be performed the qualitative analysis. The answers were analyzed and them it was elaborated the discourses of collective subject (DCS). Oral health, according to caregivers, was hygiene habits and good diet, while the absence of oral health was sequelae of oral diseases. It's possible to note that older means of health were being substituted by new perceptions of quality of life and is very divergent between older professionals and those who graduated during last two decades. However, according to caregivers, this health perception as quality of life was not included in Dentistry, where the old mean "absence of symptoms" was prevalent. For part of them, the institutionalized elderly have no oral health and the only way to improve their condition was through clinical attendance.

Jornalismo e meio ambiente: a contribuição dos meios de comunicação e o conceito de sustentabilidade

This article is a reflection about the contribution the social communication media can provide to the public debate about the environmental concerns. The Agenda XXI and several other UN documents call to the need to inform and educate the society. On the other hand, the Communication theories always have in common the imperative of the emitter to be understood by the recipient, in such a way that they can become change agents and not only observers. The first step is, therefore, to study the environmental question, adequately focus the theme and convey clarification. It is not what happened, for instance, with some technical concepts from the area, in particular sustainability, that came about in the 70 s to guide public policies at the service of the life preservation and specially, future and today, utilized even as a parameter of preservation of profit and advantage resulting from exploitation of nature.Key-Words Theory of Communication - Environmental Sustainability MCM
