We live in a society governed by information, knowledge and social inclusion. This leads us to reflect on the importance of access and use of information for people with visual disabilities to build knowledge, exercising citizenship and contribute to lifelong learning. We are faced with a society more open to diversity, questioning their mechanisms of segregation and envisions new ways of social inclusion of people with disabilities. Hence the importance of understanding the inclusive practices, especially for the visually impaired person. Thus, we sought to perform a literature search to understand the theoretical corresponding to the selective approach of the existing literature on the subject. It was considered as a concept of this type of research, which provides that a systematic search for information on existing sources, ie, in all the literature that has become public in relation to the subject studied in order to offer reflections and contributions on issues of access and use of information, emphasizing the role of social responsibility of mobilizing information professionals are considered mediators and actors of vital importance in this scenario.

This article has the objective to describe the importance of management knowledge. And, for that, we have done a study upon a case, based on the mapping of the process of classes distribution in the Escolas Técnicas do Centro Paula Souza. The management of knowledge is a way to provide it to the people, considering that knowledge becomes a fundamental and necessary resource to the development of the privante or public organizations. The use of knowledge maps becomes a crucial factor in this process of transformation of tacit knowledge into explicit, because having a high knowledge level, and socialize it, is as essential and important as all the other resources that exist within the institutions.

The information is centralized on the oligopolistic control of large media conglomerates. Due to the oligopoly of the sources and agencies, can be seen by reviewing the programs for the transmission of information from different stations, there is a minimum difference maintained only for the sources of information of local character. The purpose of this article refers to present concepts and information guiding the radio programs and is in consensus with mediation in the communication process for the transmission of information may serve as a stimulus for the generation of knowledge.

Taking referential theoretical conceptions of mathematical knowledge present in some of the main mathematics philosophical currents and considering that the teacher´s practice is influenced by his conception of mathematical knowledge, this research aims to understand the conceptions of mathematical knowledge and its teaching and learning teaching of future mathematicians. It follows a qualitative approach (case study) in which the data were collected by semi-structured interviews and document analysis. This investigation has pointed out that Mathematics together with Mathematics Teaching (or part of this: on the didactic and pedagogical knowledge of how to teach) could be important to formation of the future mathematician, who will probably teach in a college or university.

This article aims to reflect on the qualitative analysis regarding the modification and the acquisition of new knowledge, as well as to identify the contribution of computer use in an intervention activity. It was used content analysis and it was created categories and units of analysis and from the frames containing the analysis of the categories it was randomly chosen four groups which led to their evaluation. Concerning to such frames of analysis and evaluation of the frequency of the records it was structured a metatext. The result of the analysis has shown the students' difficulty to realize their records, to express their interpretations and understandings in their mathematical activities by using the English language. It was noticed that the activity performed using the software Geogebra, based on the constructionist view, make possible the students to identify the modification and acquisition of new concepts.

As technology is more and more present within the organizations, the management of knowledge has become essential to an effective management. This article deals with the inseparable relation that exists in between knowledge management, practice communities and the social networks. The analysis over this relation allows us to observe how the Information and Communication Technologies facilitated the access, the information sharing and distribution within the organizations. By this, we highlighted the applicability in the social networks of three applications of Facebook, which can be used as tools in practice communities. This way, these tools are also developed for different technological platforms, which will allow a major interaction between the organizations and their workers, partners and even their clients. Therefore the responsible usage of these technologies and of the data generated by these tools can provide a better quality on the organizational knowledge management.

To understand how teachers deal with curriculum change proposals, and how their professional knowledge are involved in this process, is critical in order to understand the impact of these changes in pedagogical practice. From L. S. Shulman’s typology of teacher knowledge, we aimed to describe and interpret how a Physical Education teacher deals with the pedagogical content knowledge when developing a theme from Curriculum Proposal of Physical Education from the State of São Paulo (PPC-EF). A case study was conducted with the use of semi-structured interviews and classroom observation. The teacher made adjustments at the approach and activities suggested by the PPC-PE, mobilizing several teacher knowledge, and her autonomy was not removed. On the other hand, difficulties in relating “theory” and “practice” indicate the need for construction of pedagogical content knowledge to better direct the learning of students to the critical appropriation of movement culture.

Breast cancer (BC) is the most common malignancy in women worldwide, with one million new cases confirmed each year. This study aimed at identifying the knowledge of patients? relatives concerning the risk factors (RF) for BC. It is a descriptive quantitative study carried out in the Chemotherapy Technical Division of a University Hospital in São Paulo state, Brazil, from September to October 2006. Only female (30) relatives were included due to the fact that BC is more frequent in females. The major RF cited were family history for BC 33.3% (10), smoking 16.6% (5), alcoholic-drink consumption 10% (3), animal-fat-rich diet 3.3% (1). Other factors such as not breastfeeding, environmental factors, use of oral contraceptives and hormone-replacement therapy were mentioned by 10% (3) of the relatives. It was concluded that the relatives of patients undergoing chemotherapeutic treatment showed to have little knowledge concerning RF for BC. Hence, it is important to rethink the inclusion of the health education process in the family scenario. This issue reaches far beyond thesimple transmission of information. Healthcare professionals and nurses in particular, must focus on these individuals? social context, values, beliefs and needs.

This is part of an integrative review whose object of study was the production of knowledge in journals concerning nursing studies that have used the Theory of complexity as a theoretical framework. This study gathers seven articles collected from a literature review of 18 publications found on the databases: Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval Sistem on-line (MEDLINE), Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe emCiências da Saúde (LILACS) and Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) from 1998 to 2008. In the two former databases, the following combination of key words was used: “complexity theory” and “health” and “nursing”, and in the third: “complexidade” and “saúde” and “enfermagem. Content analysis was the methodological framework that allowed for organizing the knowledge aggregated in the theme: Health Care. It was observed that the Complexity Theory has based the comprehension of the health care process, pointing out the care provider with his practices and the environment.
