O cultivo de citrus é uma das principais atividades agrícolas no Estado de São Paulo, sendo realizado em solos gerados a partir de diferentes materiais que conferem, naturalmente, variações na constituição química e mineralógica destes, além de poderem, ou não estar contaminados por metais tóxicos oriundos dos métodos defensivos. Com o objetivo de quantificar os atributos químicos e os teores de metais pesados do solo foi realizado um estudo comparativo entre solos assim cultivados, das regiões das cidades de Mogi Guaçu e São José do Rio Preto. Este estudo envolveu a determinação do pH do solo, análises volumétricas para quantificação dos teores de matéria orgânica, Ca+2, Mg+2 e Al+3 , espectrofotômetro de chama para o estabelecimento dos teores de Na+ e K+ e espectrofotômetro de absorção atômica para determinação dos teores de Cobre, Zinco, Cádmio, Cromo, Níquel e Chumbo. O solo da região de Mogi Guaçu apresentou-se mais ácido devido, provavelmente, a uma maior concentração de Al3+. Apresentou, também, teores mais elevados de matéria orgânica. Os solos de ambas as regiões apresentaramse deficientes em Na+ , K+ , Ca+2 e Mg+2 . A análise realizada para os metais pesados mostrou uma elevada quantidade de Níquel observada nas amostras de solo da região de São José do Rio Preto e, Níquel e Cobre, nas de Mogi Guaçu, com valores classificados como de prevenção, de acordo com os Parâmetros Orientadores da CETESB (2005). Estes teores de alerta devem-se, muito possivelmente, à adição exagerada de defensivos agrícolas.

The species Pimelodus maculatus is one of the most abundant fish in many artificial reservoirs. Shows feeding plasticity and exploits all trophic levels in aquatic ecosystems. This study aimed to analyze and compare aspects of the diet of P. maculatus in two important tributaries (Taquari and Veados rivers) in the upper Paranapanema River system, and also investigate possible differences in the condition factor using its feeding habit as reference. Samplings were carried out every three months during 2011 and 2012 in two tributaries of Jurumirim's dam. After biometric analysis, fish were dissected to remove the stomachs that were fixed in formaldehyde 10% and conserved in alcohol 70%. The stomach content was analyzed under stereomicroscope and the food items were identified until the least possible taxonomic level. The diet was characterized based on the Alimentary Index (IAi). Feeding strategy and aspects of species autoecology were evaluated by the relation between abundance of prey-specific (Pi) and occurrence frequency (Fo) of the prey, and also was calculated the niche width of Levin (B). The condition factor was also established and values obtained in samples of both rivers were compared, correlating them with diet of the species

Titanium and its alloys has been widely used as materials for metallic biomaterials implants are usually employed to restore the hard tissue function, being used for artificial joints and bones, synthetic plates, crowns, dental implants and screws . Objective of this work was the surface modification of Ti-alloy 25Ta from biomimetic surface treatment of employment and deposition of polymer by electrospinning. The league was obtained from the fusion of the pure elements in the arc furnace with controlled atmosphere. The ingots were subjected to heat treatment, cold forged and sectioned discs with 13 mm diameter and 3 mm thick. Two surface treatments was evaluated, biomimetic and electrospinning with PCL fiber. The biomimetic treatment was performed involving alkaline treatment for three molarities 1.5M, 3M and 5M with immersion in SBF. The electrospinning was performed using PCL polymer alloy surface after the alkali treatment Ti25Ta 1M. For this group the polymer coated surfaces were immersed in calcium phosphate containing solution for immobilization of apatite. The results were compared with previous studies using surface treatment group to verify hydroxyapatite formation on the sample surface and it is concluded that the best condition is biomimetic treatment with 5M alkali treatment and heat treatment at 80 ° C for 72 hours

Ichthyofaunistic studies aims to broad the knowledge of composition, abundance and distribution of species in certain areas, and when possible, to infer patterns of distribution, as well as extrinsic factors that affect these patterns in space and time. The Paranapanema River suffers the impact of the construction of hydroelectric power plants in cascade system along its main channel, changing the characteristics of lotic to lentic and semi-lentic. These changes affect the entire biocenosis and the surroundings of the reservoir and, in particular, the fish fauna. In this context, the aim of this study was to characterize the fish assemblage in two lakes and stretches of the main channel, located near the outfall of the Paranapanema River, Jurumirim reservoir area, comparing them to their composition and structure, using ecological indices as tools. Fish were caught every three months from April 2011 to January 2013, using gill nets of various mesh openings in four stretches: Environment 1 - Calha Sete Ilhas, Environment 2 - Calha Poço da Pedra, Environment 3 - Lagoa Sete Ilhas and Environment 4 - Lagoa Poço de Pedra. After the capture, the specimens were identified and biometric analysis was performed (total and standard length weight). We captured 4,006 individuals belonging to four orders and 34 species, 31 native species and three non-native species. In abundance (n) and number of species (S), there was a predominance of Characiformes (57 %) followed by Siluriformes (31%). Overall, most of the species was constant concerning the frequency of capture. The five most representative species in abundance were Schizodon intermedius, Cyphocarax modestus, Pimelodus maculatus, Hoplosternum littorale and Serrasalmus maculatus, contributing with 60% of total individuals captured. The paper compares the evolution of the brasilian and chinese agriculture emphasizing the post II World War period. It tries to show the structural changes in the agriculture in both countries and characterizing the dynamics of them. For both countries, the effort of industrialization after 1945 meant to sacrify the agriculture to a second plan. In the 1970’ Brazil and China begin to modernize their agriculture and adjust it to new challangers put by the necessity of guarantee the food security. The paper concludes that, in spite of some present problems, both countries face adequately the defiance on their agriculture.

The Trainer for Kids is a prefabricated funcitonal appliance indicated for early treatment of the Class I malocclusion, crowding, anterior open bite, deep bite and oral habits (finger and/or sucking, atypic deglutition, tongue interposition and oral breathing). The aim of this paper is show two case reports treated with the T4K appliance being an anterior open bite and a deep bite.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare occlusal plane angulation measured in two different types of semi-adjustable articulators with that obtained on the lateral cephalometric radiograph. Materials and Methods: 20 patients due to undergo orthognathic surgery had dental casts mounted in two different types of semi-adjustable articulators through face bow transfer from the position of the maxilla and occlusal recording to the mandible. After mounting, the inclination of the occlusal plane in the articulators was measured and compared with the inclination measured at on both articulators and compared with the inclination measured on the lateral cephalometric radiographs and between the articulators themselves. The results obtained werestatistically analyzed. Results: Mean angulation values for the Bio Art (7.55º) and Kavo (-5.70º) articulators differ by 13.25º, which is statistically significant (p=0.00). When individually compared to the lateral cephalometric radiograph (5.075º), the Bio Art articulator showed more similar angulation values, with a difference of 2.475º, while the Kavo articulator presented a difference of 10.775º. Conclusion: Neither of the models of semi-adjustable articulators accurately reproduced the inclination of the maxillary occlusal plane of patients with dentofacial deformities; the difference between the two articulators tested and the lateral cephalometric radiograph was lower for the Bio Art than for the Kavo articulator.
