The Companhia Energetica de Sao Paulo - CESP owns six hydroelectric dams in the state of São Paulo. The dams, both in its construction and in operation, cause some environmental impacts, most of them negatives, for example, the flooding in regions before not flooded, deviation of the river’s course, among others, bringing harm to flora and fauna of these environments. As a way to compensating these damages, the CESP has acquired a region that was influenced by Sérgio Motta Hydroelectric Plant Engineer, or Porto Primavera, and turned it into Reserva Particular do Patrimônio Natural Foz do Rio Aguapeí. By law it fits in a Conservation Unit, and thus should be contemplate for a management plan, ie, a multidisciplinary technical document which allows, simply, the practice of actions within and around in a sustainably way. This work aimed at developing a land cover map of the reserve for this plan can be made and executed more efficiently. Initially, the project included field visits and meetings with members of the CESP to be specified classes contained on the map. Transformação da paisagem da área de preservação ambiental APA no Município de Botucatu-SP

The Environmental Protection Areas (EPA) are a type of sustainable use conservation unit, therefore its territory have public and private areas. To establish and reorganize the use of EPA’s territory, aiming the environment conservation along with human actions, it is necessary a management plan that should be conducted within five years from the date of its creation. The EPA Botucatu, established in 1983, does not have its management plan completed until the present day. The consequences of lack of organization about the use and occupation of its territory can be observed in a comparative study of territorial classification between the years 1985 and 2010, which was the objective of this study. As a result, it could be observed the decrease of the remaining fragments and intense fragmentation of them, pointing to the need for projects that aim the restoration, conservation and connectivity between these fragments and the subsequent application

Análise temporal da cobertura do solo na zona de amortecimento de reserva biológica

The Municipal Biological Reserve of Serra do Japi shelters an important forest remnant of Atlantic Rainforest in the state of São Paulo. For its ecological importance, were created instruments for environmental and territorial management of the Conservation Unit, with the regulation of the use and occupation of the land in its Buffer Zone (BZ) in 2004. The objective of this study was to analyze the evolution of the land cover in the BZ region of the Municipal Biological Reserve of Serra do Japi in Jundiaí-SP, between 1989 and 2010. It was used in this study the image analysis of the satellite LANDSAT-TM5, with the help of software ILWIS and IDRISI. The results showed that urban occupation has increased 37.47% and the agro pastoral and reforestation areas have decreased 36.62% and 72.22% respectively, while forest areas have increased 49.57%. However, the relative importance of the forest area in BZ ranged from 46.60% in 1989 to 69.71% in 2010, leading to the conclusion that this region was favored by changes in land cover in the period evaluated, despite strong pressure for urban expansion in its surroundings.
