The objective of this study was to discuss the teaching-learning process of corporal approaches in the Occupational Therapy fi eld. The informations were collected during the classes, in the body approaches matter, administered in the fourth period of the graduate program in Occupational Therapy of the Universidade Estadual Paulista, through focus groups conducted at the end of all twelve-face meetings with classes of four hours each. The study was realized by forty students enrolled in the discipline. All meetings were fi lmed, which allowed the full transcript and analysis of the students reports. The speeches analysis consisted of content analysis and categories creation. The results indicated to the perception of the thematic discussed during the meetings enabled the student to experience and build critical thinking about what is proper the client, and through a holistic approach, about what is guiding the potency of the Occupational Therapy process. The body approaches are considered a feature powerfull transformer in the teaching-learning of occupational therapy as an investigative and formative activity in the understandings’ construction of the professional practice of occupational therapists in situations of uniqueness, complexity, uncertainty and confl ict in the value process.

The present investigation intended to understand how Didatic has been interpreted by teachers who work with this discipline in undergraduate courses. We assume that there are still many controversies and contradictions in consideration of the epistemological status of didactics, and that this knowledge object is on constant review by professionals. Initially we were seeking evidence in the plans of courses, however, this search has put us in a situation of confusion, of uncertainty and highlighted structural problems which, at first, prevented us from using pure and simple of the contents of the plans. We analyzed 76 lesson plans, allocated to institutions in different Brazilian states, different types of institutions and the diversity was so great that led us to characterize this study as exploratory and tell us the relevance of analyzing them in the perspective of "facets". To deepen the understanding we were interviewing teachers and two focus groups conducted with teachers of Teaching. Triangulating the analysis of plans, with the reflections from the interviews, the speeches and also in the focus group data, observation of teaching practice, we put some insights on issues, even though preliminary and will require further research.

This study aimed at verifying the associations between social support, family support and self-concept in a group of men and women. In the male group there were negative correlations between family support and the factors negligence, aggression and indifference of the instrument of self-concept. In the female group, the total family support was positively correlated with sensuality and accountability, and negatively with uncertainty, and these three measures of the instrument of self-concept. The observed relationships between family support and social support were positive, for both men and women.

The sugar cane plantation expands its borders each year, throughout the national territory. Thus, increases the amount of biomass that will to be exploited by man in sugar and alcohol produce and also by other organisms, which will have food in abundance. The growth of mechanized harvesting, with the consequent decrease in burning of straw and the expansion of the sucroalcooleiro sector are causing changes into entomofauna in certain areas or regions of sugar cane plantation. One of the new threats to the sugar cane plantations in southcentral region, causing uncertainty and concern to farmers, is the giant worm, Telchin licus, known in Brazil since 1927, in the Northeast of Brazil, is considered a major pest of cane sugar. In 2007 it was first recorded in the state of São Paulo, which accounts for 60% of the country's crops. Whereas until then there is not much information about their management and control, the aim of this review is to gather information on the basis for its control within the context of Integrated Pest Management of cane sugar.

This paper presents a method for calculating the power flow in distribution networks considering uncertainties in the distribution system. Active and reactive power are used as uncertain variables and probabilistically modeled through probability distribution functions. Uncertainty about the connection of the users with the different feeders is also considered. A Monte Carlo simulation is used to generate the possible load scenarios of the users. The results of the power flow considering uncertainty are the mean values and standard deviations of the variables of interest (voltages in all nodes, active and reactive power flows, etc.), giving the user valuable information about how the network will behave under uncertainty rather than the traditional fixed values at one point in time. The method is tested using real data from a primary feeder system, and results are presented considering uncertainty in demand and also in the connection. To demonstrate the usefulness of the approach, the results are then used in a probabilistic risk analysis to identify potential problems of undervoltage in distribution systems. In the Atlantic Montane Rain Forest of south-eastern Brazil, a field study was carried out to describe the forest disturbance regime, analyse canopy gap composition and evaluate the influence of habitat parameters on gap tree species composition. We characterized canopy gaps considering the group of variables as follows: area, type and number of tree/branch falls, topographic position, soil coverage and surrounding canopy trees. Gap composition was assessed at species level by measuring all individuals inside gaps higher than one meter. Mean gap area of the 42 canopy gaps analysed was 71.9 +/- 9.0 m(2) (mean +/- SE). Out of the studied gaps, 35.7% were created by uprooted and by snapped trees, 16.7% by dead-standing trees and 11.9% by the fall of large branches. The disturbance regime was characterized by gap openings predominantly smaller than 150 m(2) and by spatial patterning related to topography. Ridges had smaller gaps and higher proportions of gaps created by branch falls; slopes had bigger gaps generally created by uprooting events. The more abundant and frequent species were shade tolerant and the more species-rich families found inside gaps did not differ from the forest as a whole. Pioneer species were rare and restricted to medium and large size classes. The Indicator Species Analysis and the Canonical Correspondence Analysis indicated gap area, topography and the percentage of soil cover by the genera Calathea and Ctenanthe were the predominant variables correlated with woody species distribution. So, topography emerged as an important issue not only to the gap disturbance regime, but also to gap colonization. In respect to the influence of gap processes on the Atlantic Montane Rain Forest regeneration, our results support the view that canopy gap events may not be working as promoters of community wide floristic shifts.
