Concern about the identity of nursing professionals has existed since Florence Nightingale. The exercise of the nursing profession must be based on scientific principles so that the actual health problems of a given community can be assessed and actions targeted at improving the population’s quality of life can be designed from such assessments. This problem assessment is referred to as Nursing Diagnosis. NANDA defines diagnosis as “a clinical judgment about individual, family or community responses to actual or potential health problems/life processes. Nursing diagnosis provides the basis for selection of nursing interventions to achieve outcomes for which nurses are accountable”. The present study aimed at investigating the scientific production on Nursing Diagnosis (NANDA). This is an literature review. For data collection, an instrument that addressed the following items was used: identification of original articles and evaluation of their objectives, methodological characteristics, results and conclusion. In the present review, 15 articles that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed. They were all authored by nurses. Four articles addressed obstetrics, puerperium and neonatology, and the diagnosis of an unsatisfactory breastfeeding process was observed in 100% of cases. As regards chronic diseases, four articles were found, and two exclusively addressed diabetes, with a main diagnosis of an ineffective control of the therapeutic regimen. Three articles addressed the elderly, and the main diagnosis found was hindered mobility in more than 90% of cases. As regards, sexually transmitted diseases, one article was found with three diagnoses with 100% for disturbed sleep patterns, infection risk and ineffective protection. As to patients with sequelae, two articles were identified, and the diagnoses found were hindered physical mobility, with 100%; self-care deficit for... The youth has been calling attention due to the large number of social problems resulting from the risky behaviors. One of the behaviors that stand out is the use of alcohol because, besides being the first drug to be used by children and adolescents, this population begins to use increasingly early. Another behavior that is becoming concern in that particular group, also with early start, is the unprotected sex, causing problems as the unplanned pregnancy, abortions and sexually transmitted diseases. However, one factor is becoming relevant and requiring further study, the number of young women developing sexually transmitted diseases and becoming risk drinkers. In this direction, this study has as objective to discuss the high number of alcohol use among young women, the vulnerability that this use causes for the unprotected sex and the importance of these subjects teachers training. It should be noted, finally, the lack of training of teachers to work with the thematic ones, and mainly, the need to deconstruct gender stereotypes, an obstacle in preventing the use of alcohol, other drugs and sexually transmitted diseases.

Adolescents are commonly seen in a “sexless” way so that when the first sexual expressions appear in our young people they are permeated by worry and fear. In this context, the school spread the vision of sex and sexuality, as hazardous due to risks of sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancy. Thus, seeking to encourage reflection on the part of adolescents with regard to sexual life, workshops were developed with 15 students in a seventh grade student at a state school in the city of Jaboticabal, São Paulo. The findings of this research indicate that adolescents have conceptions of sexuality marked by repression, including the maintenance of sex roles traditionally established. The implementation of interventions in the form of workshops revealed that the group has become an area that favors the reconstruction and rebuilding of meanings through the questions and judgment of values and attitudes socially imposed.

1. 1. Some parameters (glycolysis, respiration, levels of glycolytic enzymes) of the lymphoid cells from the Sticker's lymphosarcoma were established in order to better define the biochemical behavior of the venereal tumor of the dog. 2. 2. For comparative purposes lymphocytes from peripheral blood of normal tumor-bearing dogs were also studied. 3. 3. Lactic acid produced by the tumor cells during aerobic glycolysis is liberated in the reaction medium. 4. 4. Oxygen uptake is enhanced in the presence of succinate, but not with pyruvate, α-ketoglutarate, or malate as substrates. 5. 5. Higher levels of some of the enzymes from the glycolytic pathways as well as differences on the physicochemical and kinetic properties of the glycolytic regulatory enzymes are found in Sticker's tumor cells, when compared with the lymphocytes from peripheral blood of normal and tumor-bearing dogs. 6. 6. A fructose-bisphosphate positively modulated pyruvatekinase is found in the tumor cells. © 1987.

Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infectious disease caused by Treponema pallidum. This study reports 3 cases of syphilis and highlights the importance of identifying oral lesions for its final diagnosis. Case 1: a 48-year-old male patient presented with a bleeding ulcer in the lower lip. Overall clinical examination revealed patchy alopecia and skin target lesions. Case 2: a 61-year-old male patient presented with white spots on the lateral tongue and nodules on the dorsum of the tongue. Overall clinical examination showed erythematous target lesions on the abdomen, forearm, palms of the hand, and soles of the feet. Case 3: a 17-year-old male patient presented with an ulcerated lesion on the tongue and lymph node involvement. The following serologic tests were requested: Venereal Disease Research Laboratory, fluorescent treponemal antibody-absorption, anti-HIV-1 and anti-HIV-2, and anti-hepatitis C virus. An incisional biopsy revealed epithelial hyperplasia associated with intense and diffuse mononuclear inflammatory cell infiltration consisting mainly of plasma cells, in a perivascular and perineural distribution. The final diagnosis in the 3 patients was syphilis. Treatment consisted of 1 weekly dose of penicillin (2.4 million units, intramuscular) for 2 or 3 weeks. Immunohistochemical reactions for XIIIa, CD3, CD20, CD68, CD163, S100, CD1a, CD11c, CD83, CD138, and CD208 were performed. Clinicians should be familiarized with oral syphilis lesions in order to be able to diagnose this emerging infectious disease of variable clinical presentation.

The Socio-Historical Psychology Theory understands human development constituted by the social and historical relations, in whom the individual belongs, and understanding the meaning of adolescence as a time and built. The social psychology, in this theoretical approach, proposes, among others, the category Social Representations (SR) for analysis and discussion of psychosocial phenomena. This study aimed to investigate the SR of adolescents about sexually transmitted diseases (STD/SIDA), by means of a questionnaire in order to know their vulnerabilities to spread of STD/SIDA. After the identification of vulnerabilities, an intervention was performed through a group processes with adolescents 11 to 15 years, users of services CRAS of a city in São Paulo State, to provide subsidies in relation to education for sexuality. Based on data collected and discussed, it can be stated that among the multiple determinants of the increased incidence, as the Epidemiological Bulletin 2011/MS, the lack of safe sex practices contributes to the vulnerability of adolescents. Emphasizes the need to know their Social Representations proposing an intervention, not to reproduce the imposition of „packages awareness of safe sex practices,” homogeneous and universal, it does little to promote health and education of adolescents.
