Normalistas do Maranhão: entre rotina e resistência

O presente artigo analisa, no período de existência da Escola Normal do Maranhão (1890-1940), ações e mobilizações de normalistas, que construíram diferentes formas de atuação no meio escolar e da sociedade, nas duas primeiras décadas do século XX, em São Luís do Maranhão. Observa iniciativas propiciadas por um contexto no qual a instrução assumia grande importância, influenciando práticas identificadas com esta nova ferramenta de negociação para mulheres que tinham acesso à mesma.

Almost forty years computed tomography (CT) has been one of the most powerful tools in diagnostic imaging. However, this modality delivers relatively high doses to their patients. It is known that the inappropriate use and unnecessary radiation may be associated with a significant risk of cancer, especially in pediatric patients. Moreover, the quality assurance in CT, provided and required by Portaria 453/98 and the guide of the RE 1016/05, ensures that the images generated by computer tomography provide reliable diagnostic information with doses as low as reasonably achievable. This research aimed to make the quality control (QC) of CT equipment; establish a better relationship between dose and noise on the image to protocols of skull CT according to the study of optimization proposed in 2005 by Daros; and assess the dose distribution in different cranial organs for protocols of adult and pediatric use in the routine of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging of HCFMB-UNESP. Síntese e caracterização de complexos de cetoprofeno com lantanídeos (III) e Ítirio (III) no estado sólido com exceção do promécio

Solid-state compounds of general formula LnL3.nH2O, in wich Ln represents lanthanum, lanthanides and yttrium, L is ketoprofen, and n = 0,5 (Pr, Sm, Tb), 1 (La, Eu, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Lu) e 1,5 (Ce, Nd, Gd, Yb, Y) were synthesized. Simultaneous thermogravimetry-differential analysis (TG-DTA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray powder diffractometry, infrared spectroscopy and EDTA complexometry were employed to characterize these compounds. The TG-DTA and DSC curves provided information concerning the thermal behaviour and thermal decomposition of synthesized compounds. The experimental and theoretical infrared spectroscopic data suggested that ketoprofen acts as a bidentate ligand towards trivalent lanthanides and yttrium (III)

Estudo termoanalítico de complexos do fármaco Ibuprofeno com lantanídeos (III) leves no estado sólido com exceção do promécio

This Final Paper had as it main goal to make a thermoanalytical study of lighter trivalent lanthanides (Lanthanum, Cerium, Praseodymium, Neodymium, Samarium and Europium) with the Ibuprofen ligand (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory) that have a general formula LnL3.nH2O, on solid state, where Ln are the Lanthanides, L is the Ibuprofen ligand and n = number of water molecules of hydration that went from 1,0 to all the compounds. In order to characterize this compounds, it has been used the thermoanalytical techniques TG-DTA (thermogravimetry - Diferential Thermal Analysis) and DSC (Diferential Scanning Calorimetry), Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and complexometric titration with EDTA. Through the TG-DTA technique, it has been possible to set the thermal stability of the compounds, the number of thermal decomposition steps and temperatures that ocurred that also provided stoichiometry to the synthesized compounds. The DSC technique has shown the enthalpy of dehydration of the samarium and europium compounds, it was not possible to see it in the other compounds due to a endothermic peak on the DSC curve not being formed. In the case of neodymium, a thermal event ocurred, in which it could be a oxidative decarboxylation right after the dehydration. The infrared was utilised to study the carboxilate groups streches, and so, suggest a ligand metals compound coordination, that to this present paper has been a bidentade bridged coordenation. At last, the complexometric tritation was used to very the ammount of metal present in each compound, and so, verify if the proposed stoichiometry was according to the theory

A crítica de Mandelbrot: normalidade como exceção e não como regra

Starting with a brief introduction about the evolution of asset pricing models, we seek here to introduce the critique made by Benoit Mandelbrot about using the normality hypothesis when building such models. This critique arises when empirical and theoretical models where confronted and the expected results diverged from the ones obtained. Next, we reproduce Mandelbrot alternative which he believes is sufficient to solve the main problems implied by the normality hyphotesis

D’après Greimas (2002), le sens se concrétise par le changement de rythme ou par une oscillation construite dans la linéarité du langage. L’étrange et l’imprévu, considérés comme des événements qui troublent la pratique habituelle d’une vie dans son parcours, entrent ainsi dans le domaine d’études de la sémiotique française. Le sujet a été discuté plus tard par Claude Zilberberg, avec la venue de la sémiotique tensive, pour qui l’appréhension d’un événement se donne dans le survenir. De plus, selon les observations de Greimas, pour la sémiotique, une forme de vie caractérise des manières par lesquelles les individus ressentent et expriment leur compréhension de l’existence à travers des façons de faire, d’être, d’organiser l’espace dans lequel ils vivent, etc. Devant ces présuppositions théoriques, nous analysons le reportage “Eu pego mas não me apego”, publié dans Atrevida, une revue dirigée vers un public féminin dont la tranche d’âge est de 15 à 19 ans, et nous discutons la manière dont l’énonciateur a configuré le simulacre de l’acteur “ado branchée”. Il en ressort que l’énonciateur a utilisé des stratégies verbales et qu’il met ainsi en discours l’idée d’un comportement qui parait transgresseur au niveau de la manifestation, ce que l’on peut caractériser comme un événement. Cependant, on notera la présence de marques textuelles implicites qui rendent possible un discours qui se réfère au comportement féminin traditionnel et qui caractérise une routine.

Magazines such as O Cruzeiro are part of the Brazilian collection. In its pages, the female presence is constant. From the concepts of Greimas’ way of life and happening and routine from Zilberberg, we analyse a photoreport which highlights the actress Ilka Soares, comparing her to texts of the session “To the woman”. The analysis of such texts lets us verify the behaviour of a distinguished professional which is different from the traditional model of the housewife of the fifties. Reconstitute the ways of life of these women is to make up for the memory of the country

Indústria frigorífica halal no Brasil, mão-de-obra islamita e estado de exceção

In the last decade, Brazilian meat export rates for Muslim religious countries have increased, and also has the immigration of Africans workers able to perform the slaughter following the precepts of Islam - religion that has expanded in the world, and thus, has the halal food segment. Halal, the Islamic ideology, means lawful, authorized by God: are those products that Allah in the Holy Qur'an releases for human consumption. To get halal certification some measures during slaughter/processing food should be taken. In the case of the slaughterhouses the animal must be slaughtered by a Muslim. Consequently, the demand for this skilled labor makes many African-Muslims get jobs in factories owned by BRF Foods, JBS and Marfrig; refugees and with their citizenship rights committed, these individuals live in a socio-political state of exception and overexploitation. In this study we intend to discuss the object of study Islamist workforce in Brazilian halal meat industry using the theoretical reflections of Giorgio Agamben (Homo Sacer in 2002, and State of Exception, 2004) and David Harvey (The Condition of Postmodernity, 2008, and The New Imperialism, 2004) to address the situation of immigrants in the meat business in Brazil, specially those on the halal certification segment, whose working and living conditions were described from academic studies and primary sources (articles in newspapers / magazines, websites, immigration official data). In addition we use the works of Rogério Heasbaert (O mito da desterritorialização, 2007) and Robert Kurz (Os paradoxos dos direitos humanos: inclusão e exclusão na modernidade, 2003) to discuss human mobility in this new century
