The Subject Cataloguing, in spite of its expres-sive historical trajectory in the information organization, has not been as discussed as the descriptive cataloguing, although they arise from the same process. Recovering the Cataloguing history, you can see that there is a dichotomy between the descriptive process and the subject one; the first one was emphasized for the developing of codes and interchange patterns. Nevertheless, the studies on subject cataloguing are essential to give bases to products for helping the searching of holdings. For this reason, based on the literature, it is discusses the subject cataloguing and the set of problems about a possible institution of rules/code that guides it.

Diplomatics rises as a study field in the 17th century with a juridical purpose related to the verification of authenticity of “diplomas”. Along the 18th and 19th centuries, Diplomatics is deeply influenced by the European scientific and historiographical movements and gets the status of a scientific discipline devoted to the study of the authenticity of documents as a basis for historical research. This article characterizes Diplomatics during the mentioned period in order to point out the main historical factors which have contributed to the development of the discipline, especially in terms of the author that have been responsible for the theoretical foundation of Diplomatics.

Fire is a common event in different ecosystems and can both be caused by humans or have natural sources.. In many of these ecosystems, natural fires are an important factor that determines the vegetation. The reduction of tree cover by fire for example, resulted in the evolution of several species-rich ecosystems, dominated by C4 grasses. However, the fire caused by human actions may have greater intensity and lead to negative responses of vegetation, since man changed the fire regime in many parts of the world, such as in the Cerrado. The passage of fire can benefit herbaceous and woody seedlings that cannot compete with the dominant grass layer. It removes the dead biomass and litter (major components of the fuel load), opening up spaces within the grass matrix that allow the establishment of other species. After some time without fire, an increase in shrub cover and decrease herbaceous layer can be observed. One of the major consequences of the absence of fire in savanna and grassland ecosystems is the accumulation of flammable dead biomass (mainly composed of graminoids), which will probably be the fuel load of the next burning thus, fires will be more intense and hotter. Moreover, very frequent burns lead to a reduction in the frequency and density of grasses. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the quantity and quality of biomass in areas with different fire history (fire exclusion for 2 and 7 years) in areas of campo sujo in central Cerrado. Plots (1x1m) were established in both areas and all aboveground biomass of each plot was cut at ground level and put in paper bags in the field. In the laboratory, the material was sorted into live and dead biomass. In addition, live biomass was separated into different functional groups (graminoids, forbs, Vellozia spp, palm and shrubs). The material was oven dried for two days at 80°C and subsequently weighed. In both areas, we found a dominance of graminoid and dead biomass. The area...

The importance of research sources for historical studies. In our text we try to call the attention to the fact that, concerning the sources, the most important aspect is the researcher who considers them. This consideration is a product of history, thus in each period and according to his social and political status, the researcher will conceive the sources in a particular way. Therefore, there is no single way to deal with the sources, which is unrelated to how the researcher behaves in relation to contemporary issues.

This article aims at developing the so-called ontopolitics as G. Deleuze s innovative contribution to contemporary political philosophy. This objective will lead us to inspect the concept of power that Deleuze borrowed from Foucault and extended in order to assign to it an ontological adequacy. The concept of power opens access to another important element of the Deleuzean political philosophy, that is, the study of the historical diagrams of the power in the so-called discipline and control societies. With the combined dynamical diagram of both, we become aware of the portrait Deleuze draws for the democracy in contemporary societies. Digging into the Deleuzean ontopolitics, we will devote ourselves to the concepts of majority, minority and minor-becoming. It is in this point that the meeting between Deleuze s ontoplitics and Ch. Sanders Peirce s mathematical ontology becomes sound. It happens that Deleuze s ontopolitical concepts, besides their bond to an ontology of the power, receive also a mathematical treatment related to certain arithmetical (denumerable and nondenumerable) and geometrical notions (lines). The majorities and minorities are denumerable sets which are crossed by nondenumerable becomings. This step done, we will reach the stand point of the present paper, where we carry out initial approach with regard to an image for the concepts of majority and minority on the basis of Peirce s theory of collections and multitudes, mostly envisaging the mathematical ontology included in it. Accordingly, the main operation to be accomplished is that the Deleuzean distinction between the denumerable majorities/minorities and the nondenumerable mino-becoming may be mapped out in terms of discrete collections called enumerable, denumerable and abnumerable or postnumerable, in compliance with Peirce s terminology.

This article is a conceptual study that aims to trace a historical course of the psychiatric knowledge about children, pointing how the conceptualization of autism will lead into this prospect. For such, we divided this work into three parts: the first is dedicated to the discussion of the concept of mental retardment, followed by the questioning of the first reflections on the psychoses of childhood and the birth of the Child Psychiatrist clinic and the conceptualization of autism by Psychiatry. Therefore, we seek to understand the meaning and origin of current practices, critically analyzing the psychiatric manuals and its impact on child psychopathology.
