Lcia Regiane Lopes-Damasio prope aqui uma anlise da palavra assim e suas formas correlatas - assim como, mesmo, ainda assim, assim que - no que diz respeito aos processos de repetio, correo, parfrase, parntese, hesitao e metadiscurso. Ao mesmo tempo, a autora verifica o funcionamento tpico destes termos - classificados linguisticamente como marcadores discursivos - dentro de diferentes tradies discursivas, faladas ou escritas, no perodo que abrange do sculo XVIII aos nossos dias, a fim de apreender e iluminar aspectos relativos ao seu processo de gramaticalizao. A hiptese geral que conduz o trabalho de Lopes-Damasio - que deve j ser considerado uma importante contribuio para o levantamento da histria do portugus paulista - baseia-se na aceitao de que a adoo de novas tradies discursivas tem servido, na histria da lngua, como motor para inovaes. Isto, segundo a autora, leva ao pressuposto de que, a cada tradio estabelecida, se d uma busca de meios lingusticos apropriados, ainda que seja conservado o que j faz parte do sistema.

With the new computational technology, the studies of acoustic phonetics started to have a special place. This brought a new way of seeing the phenomenon and to deal with it in the phonetics and in the phonology. Such studies have been developing even more, recently, with a facilitated use of computational programs specially developed to the acoustic analysis of speech, such as PRAAT. Programs like this have been very interesting and useful recently. The acoustic models of analysis have influenced the way the researchers came to see and to interpret the prosodic phenomenon. The current project investigates the acoustic production of declarative and interrogative sentences from the paulista Portuguese. This study contributes for a more detailed description of the phenomenon, also becoming inserted in the chart of intonational descriptions of the Brazilian Portuguese. The subject of this current project is the acoustic study of some intonation aspects from the speaking Portuguese in Brazil, with a special place to the paulista dialect. The current projects purpose is to make a specific study of interrogatives sentences through the acoustic data analysis of paulista dialect speakers

This text is part of a larger study that initially aimed at focusing the relation between nominalization and transitivity in the Portuguese Language. Based on A. Culiolis Theory of the Enuntiative Operations, we started from a static and descriptive analysis of language, in which nominalization and transitivity have visibility, towards a study that takes into consideration the articulation between language and natural languages. This second approach diluted the specificity of these two grammatical questions and directed them to more abstract spaces of reflection and common to any grammatical problem, such as causality, differential propriety and the construction of notional domains.

This paper describes an investigation into the initial training of foreign language teachers (German and English) and the internships required in the fourth year, considering the possibility that online forums may provide a virtual environment for the manifestation of critical thinking by future teachers. We analyze the messages and themes addressed in three forums, based on concepts of critical thinking and on the theoretical model of Practical Inquiry proposed by Garrison, Anderson and Archer (2000; 2001). For a better understanding of the phases in discussions on topics, we use the model of these authors, also identifying some discourse markers characterized by them, mainly based on the assumptions of Systemic Functional Linguistics (HALLIDAY, 1994) and on the types of conversational moves proposed by Eggins and Slade (1997). A new model was created based on the selected theoretical underpinnings and on the analysis of the data, as well as the conclusion was that online forums can be considered an important tool for the manifestation of teachers' critical thinking and for a critical reflexive education, in a context marked by the specificities of information society.

A anlise das gravaes de miniaulas ministradas por professores de lngua estrangeira em formao permitiu verificar a carncia de um lxico especfico para a situao de sala de aula. Essa evidncia revela que o desenvolvimento de uma proficincia lingustica geral no suficiente na formao inicial de professores de línguas estrangeiras: necessrio que se realize tambm um trabalho sistemtico sobre a linguagem especfica de sala de aula. Com o objetivo de contribuir para a formao desses professores, este artigo apresenta um inventrio de falas tpicas de sala de aula elaborado a partir das dificuldades observadas no corpus de estudo. Prope-se utilizar esse inventrio como base para atividades que proporcionem ao professor em formao a oportunidade de adquirir proficincia lexical especfica para sua prtica profissional em lngua estrangeira.
