This essay discusses the issue of the contemporary fall of human shaping as an opening possibility to think it in another way. For that purpose it analyzes the latest favorite courses at the Collège de France by Michel Foucault in order to verify the notion possibility of care of oneself and of psychology to regard the human shaping with a different look. By approaching the point of view of the esthetics of existence, it offers reasons with the possibility of life concept as a work of art to be an alternative to the fall of the modern concept of shaping in the contemporary times.

Since the 1990s, higher education technology courses in Brazil have greatly expanded the offer of courses and places. However, the high dropout rates presented in these courses led to a research in order to uncover the factors that lead students to dropout. Through literature review and desk research, this study makes a historical analysis of how professional education is conducted in Brazil. This paper seeks to demonstrate that the implementation of public policies for professional education exacerbates the school’s duality. However, such duality generates contradictions between subjective and objective issues produced by the ideology disseminated by public policies and government actions in relation to vocational education. These contradictions end up unveiling the social inferiority of vocational education and discourage students from remaining in the courses. The legal equality between educational levels seeks to mediate the emergence of these contradictions. However, despite legal equality, social equality is not achieved in the implementation of public policies, leading to a high dropout rate.

What for some is cultural difference, can be expression of social inequality for others. The disputes and confusions over this question do not occur accidentally and have, obviously, serious political consequences. Based on two examples – Candomblé and the racial relations in Brazil –, this essay proposes to deepen the theoretical reflection on three concepts – culture, difference and (in)equality – which is, according to the author, fundamental if we want to comprehend some of the crucial current problems of our world and thus take position in it hopefully more competently.

This paper aims to present a study of the social relationships around the production, circulation and the eventual possibility of appropriation of knowledge in social systems of the pre-modern world and in a social organization of Western capitalist modernity. In this specific universe of relationships, it was also important to noticed that there is a paradoxical role of rationality that served to the emancipation of instruments of control’s knowledge of pre-modern period as in the same time it was favored by the construction of new bonds that were made in the Western modernity through the modern legal system, inserting the knowledge in the domain of the economy and private logic of the capitalist’s system through intellectual property. This research was made from a review of the literature, using specialized books of the theme. It was concluded that there is a paradox in the social relationships about the knowledge, whose cause is related to the unfolding of rationality in the development of Western civilization.

Desde 1997, todos os anos muitas pessoas se reúnem na famosa Avenida Paulista, cartão postal da grande cidade de São Paulo, para uma manifestação contra o preconceito e pelo direito civil dos homossexuais. Em todo o mundo essas manifestações se tornaram figura importante do movimento ativista homossexual na luta pelo respeito à diversidade, para abertura de discussões sobre os direitos políticos dos gays, tendo em vista que elas dão maior visibilidade às suas atuações na sociedade. Com o passar dos anos a Parada do Orgulho dos Gays, Lésbicas, Bissexuais e Transgêneros - GLBT de São Paulo tornou-se um fenômeno de público, que desde 2004 ostenta o título de maior parada gay do mundo. Este estudo se utilizará de levantamento de pesquisas e documentos teóricos que tratam da questão, dentro de uma perspectiva qualitativa a respeito da parada, elencando sua importância, seu objetivo, seu interesse e sua militância, na construção de uma educação voltada ao entendimento da diversidade sexual.

This work aims at presenting the historical and social path traversed in Brazil since slavery until the implementation of affirmative public policies to promote racial equality, at the local level, in the municipality of Presidente Prudente-SP. Therefore, the starting point was the equal rights guaranteed by the Constitution. As a result, there was a brief historical path of national trajectory, starting from slavery to the so-called cordial racism, seeking to demonstrate the route of racial discrimination in the country. Later, we made notes about the necessity and debate on public policy statements of various fields, were made explicit in the text and the articles of the Constitution which prescribe the crime of racism and some of the situations that were highlighted in the national media. The focus in the city of Presidente Prudente was through historical research, interviews, photographic records and documents that informed about the presence of black people in the city. From these data, based on previous research, it was possible to trace the formation and development of the Black Movement in the city and thus point the way to the formation of this City Council for Racial Equality and the need for application of affirmative action policies for the municipality by hereby. Data from the 2000 Census and 2010 indicate the demand of Presidente Prudente as the percentage of blacks self-declared grew this decade. The main demands are paring the areas of Health since the rate of black women Administrative Region (RA) of Presidente Prudente who die in puerperium and high; Education through enhanced, by the Municipal Education Law No. 10,639, and due attention to african-Brazilian culture by respecting the religious manifestations of African origin among others... O piolho de cabeça atualmente é um problema mundial e não está relacionado à pobreza, falta de higiene, desleixo. Sua prevalência é alta na idade escolar de três a doze anos de idade. Quando uma criança o adquire tem um sentimento de vergonha, deixa de ir à escola e raramente é encaminhada para cuidados médicos. Geralmente para o controle, as famílias utilizam substâncias tóxicas, inseticidas domiciliares, produtos inflamáveis e ervas na cabeça das crianças. E ainda, acreditam que o piolho pode ser transmissor de doenças. Há uma falta de informação e neste caso, a educação se faz necessária. O objetivo deste trabalho foi elaborar um instrumento de avaliação de professores das séries iniciais do ensino fundamental I, da rede pública de ensino, da cidade de Botucatu – SP, relacionado à pediculose. Esta análise ocorreu através de um questionário constituído de 10 perguntas abertas e 14 fechadas (concordo e discordo) com abordagem educacional (ensino sobre piolho - conhecimento, atitude e prática) e com uma abordagem didática sobre biologia, diagnóstico, prevenção, tratamento, transmissão sobre o piolho de cabeça. Este trabalho foi realizado em 9 escolas da rede pública do ensino fundamental I com 108 professores.Todos os dados foram tabulados no programa Microsoft Excel 2000 versões 7.0 e as análises foram realizadas com base na estatística descritiva, não – paramétrica, segundo o método estatístico que consiste em técnica de análise de variância não paramétrica para o modelo com um fator – Teste de Kruskal-Wallis e por tabelas de freqüência. A análise estatística dos dados obtidos dos questionários mostrou como resultados mais pertinentes a posição de 100% dos professores que nunca deixam de falar sobre piolho em sala de aula, nunca proíbem o aluno... This study presents implications of the assumptions of a model of educational management based on the perspective of technical and instrumental rationality regarding fundamental studies of the Frankfurt School and Gentilini (2001). We analyzed the presence of such theoretical assumptions in the Complementary Education Program “Prof. Henrique Scabello” implemented in the city of Araraquara, SP. The results indicate that this model of educational management brings negative implications for the school investigated, and above all that adherence to the management model based on communicative rationality can favor the realization of a truly democratic school management.

Marcuse’s concept of technological rationality is still quite real because it allows for a critical analysis of our society. When applied to education it shows how our social practices, objectively organized with the help of technological devices, supercede themselves and create systemic consequences. This article analyzes some of these consequences for educational policies and forms of school management by investigating day-to-day occurences in a small school in the São Paulo countryside.

Este artículo propone una discusión sobre la educación escolar tomando como punto de partida la burocracia, la racionalidad y el concepto de desencantamiento del mundo propuesto por Max Weber. Finalmente, se discuten los impactos a la subjetividad de los principales involucrados en el proceso educativo - profesores y alumnos - para señalar posibles movimientos que hacen más dinámico las relaciones humanas en la educación institucionalizada.

This article intends to deal with an ordinary link it does on education and type of work what can be achieved. In two studies we conducted, one with the motorcyclists of Assis, in the state Sao Paulo - under the theoretical and methodological Psychodynamics of Work -, and another with the couriers in São Paulo - under a methodological framework ethnographic -, as we noted this relationship was used professionals to explain their connection and within these activities remain so poor and so dangerous for this group. This connection self cupabilization favors workers by their situation in the labor market and a difficult see no alternative to this reality. Intend to contribute to this discussion show a possible hypothesis as established this relationship (education / access to work) and show how the changes in the political context and economic environment and the world, contributed to the reduction of jobs, increasing the number precarious jobs and unemployment.
