Impactos Ambientais da Mineração de Argila para Cerâmica Vermelha Na Sub-bacia do Ribeirão Jacutinga – Rio Claro e Corumbataí (SP)

O presente estudo teve como objetivo caracterizar os impactos decorridos da mineração de argila para cerâmica vermelha por 10 produtores localizados na Sub-bacia do Ribeirão Jacutinga. A extração da matéria-prima proveniente do manto de alteração da Formação Corumbataí constitui uma forma de mineração de pequeno porte, a qual acumula impactos por um longo período. Para caracterização dos impactos fez-se uso de Sistema de Informação Geográfica para análise de imagens orbitais (TM-Landsat) e dados obtidos em base 1:10.000 e observação in situ. Os principais impactos detectados foram: abertura de cavas em locais de várzea, formação de lagos em cavas abandonadas, modificação da paisagem, falta de ações de recuperação de áreas lavradas e corte de vegetação nativa. Foram identificadas as áreas de maior fragilidade ambiental na sub-bacia, as quais estão associadas a zonas de maior declividade ou a locais de extração. A exploração mineral trouxe significativas alterações no quadro natural desta sub-bacia e o conhecimento sobre as limitações ambientais, aptidões para exploração e formas de mitigação dos impactos, mostram-se de extrema necessidade para uma ocupação mais racional do espaço, respeitando as limitações impostas pelo meio físico e prezando por ações sustentáveis.

Sustainability has been moving up on the business agenda in recent decades, and many methods to assess corporate sustainability have already been created. One of the most used and reliable methods is the Sustainability Reporting Guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). Given the importance of sustainability for society and organizations, this study examined sustainability reports published by mining companies – Alcoa, Vale and Samarco – since 2006. The objective was to verify the indicators that contribute most to the minimization of environmental impacts and the improvement of environmental performance. The methodology consisted of collecting and analyzing data from the GRI sustainability reports. It was discovered that the sustainability reports helped the companies to identify improvement opportunities and it is essential companies provide in their reports an economic, environmental and social context of their activities. Furthermore, it was found out that the indicators related to atmospheric emissions, solid waste generation, environmental protection expenditure, and the consumption of raw materials, energy and water are the ones more attached to the production process, which means they are the main contributors for the environmental performance improvement

Estratégia de Investimento baseada em padrões descobertos por mineração de dados em séries históricas de preços diários do Indice IBOVESPA e das ações da PETROBRAS-PN (PETR4.SA)

With the increase of stakeholders and consequently increase of amount of nancial transaction the study of news investment strategies in the stock market with data mining techniques has been the target of important researches. It allows that great historical data base to be processed and analysed looking for pattern that can be used to take a decision in investments. With the idea of getting pro t more than the real indexs' gain, we propose a strategy method of transactions using rules built by algorithm classi cation. For that, diary historical data of Ibovespa index and Petrobras stocks are organized and processed to nding the most important attribute that act decisively when taking a investment decision.To test the accuracy of proposed rules, a non real portfolio management is created, showing the decisions' performance over the real index and stocks' performance. Following the proposed rules, the results show that the strategy of investment give me back a high return that Stock market's return. The exclusive characteristics of algorithms maximize the gain inside the analysed time allowing to determine the techniques' return and the number of the days necessary to double the initial investment. The best classi er applied on the time series and its use on the propose investments strategy will demand 104 days to double the initial capital

Avaliação da vulnerabilidade a contaminação das águas subterrâneas do aquífero Rio Claro na mineração Mandu, distrito de Ajapi - Rio Claro-SP

Groundwater in the Rio Claro district is predominantly extracted from low productivity wells on the Itararé Aquifer, from depths greater than 150 m. These factors in conjunction with increasing demand for water supply have stimulated many industries to exploit the Rio Claro Aquifer, constituted by Cenozoic sediments of the Rio Claro Formation, where hydraulic properties are poorly known. For this reason, it is necessary to study the possible vulnerable to contamination punctual locations of the aquifer, in order to enable proper management of these groundwater reserves and to allow continuity of supply. Thus, this study aims to assess the vulnerability to groundwater on contamination Rio Claro Aquifer, punctually in Mandu mining site area, located in the District of Ajapi, Rio Claro - SP, the company which operates and sells industrial sand. The risk of groundwater contamination depends on the relationship between the hydrogeological characteristics of the aquifer layer (vulnerability to contamination) and the pollutant load. To evaluate the susceptibility to contamination it was applied the method GOD (FOSTER and HIRATA, 1987; FOSTER et. al., 2002) and, in addition, field and laboratory tests were performed to chacacterize the granulometry of the strata, hydraulic conductivity and some physical indices to make the evaluation more assertive and detailed. Punctual contamination vulnerability found in the aquifer Rio Claro, was moderate, which means that the aquifer is vulnerable to some contaminants, but when continuously discharged or leached. Uso das técnicas de difusão em filmes finos por gradiente de concentração (DGT) para avaliação de metais disponibilizados em passivos de mineração de Urânio

The objective of this work is to use the technique of diffusion by concentration gradient films (DGT) for evaluation of dissolved urano in hydro bodies. For this we chose this work as a systems investigation of water bodies in the region of Poços de Caldas, state of Minas Gerais, because, there is a large amount of mining of uranila. The technique to be used to evaluate the potential for dissolved metals analysis involves the use of passive samplers with application in in situ. This allows detection with excellent sensitivity and selectivity allowing the determination of the labile fraction of dissolved metals

Aplicando Métodos de Mineração Visual de Texto em conteúdo de Fórum de Discussão

We are included in a society where the use of the Internet became very important to our everyday life. The relationships nowadays usually happen through technological devices instead of face to face contact, for instance, Internet forums where people can discuss online. However, the global analysis is a big challenge, due to the large amount of data. This work investigates the use of visual representations to support an exploratory analysis of contents in messages from discussions forums. This analysis considers the thematic and the chronology. The target forums refer to the educational area and the analysis happens manually, i.e. by direct reading message-by-message. The proprieties of perception and cognition of the human visual system allow a person the capacity to conduct high-level tasks in information extraction from a graphical or visual representation of data. Therefore, this work was based on Visual Analytics, an area that aims create techniques that amplify these human abilities. For that reason we used software that creates a visualization of data from a forum. This software allows a forum content analysis. But, during the work, we identified the necessity to create a new tool to clean the data, because the data had a lot of unnecessary information. After cleaning the data we created a new visualization and held an analysis seeking a new knowledge. In the end we compared the new visualization with the manual analysis that had been made. Analyzing the results, it was evident the potential of visualization use, it provides a better correlation between the information, enabling the acquisition of new knowledge that was not identified in the initial analysis, providing a better use of the forum content
