Preparation and photoluminescence characteristics of In(OH) 3:xTb3+ obtained by Microwave-Assisted Hydrothermal method

Crystalline terbium-doped indium hydroxide structures were prepared by a rapid and efficient Microwave-Assisted Hydrothermal (MAH) method. Nanostructures were obtained at a low temperature. FE-SEM images confirm that these samples are composed of 3D nanostructures. XRD, optical diffuse reflectance and photoluminescence (PL) measurements were used to characterize the products. Emission spectra of terbium-doped indium hydroxide (In(OH)3:xTb 3+) samples under excitation (350.7 nm) presented broad band emission referent to the indium hydroxide matrix and 5D4 → 7F6, 5D4 → 7F 5, 5D4 → 7F4, and 5D4 → 7F3 terbium transitions at 495, 550, 590 and 627 nm, respectively. Relative intensities of the Tb 3+ emissions increased as the concentration of this ion increased from 0, 1, 2, 4 and 8 mol%, of Tb3+, but the luminescence is drastically quenched for the In(OH)3 matrix. © 2012 Elsevier B.V. This paper presents a technique dubbed WiMAX radio link, the IEEE 802.16 was completed in October 2001 and published on April 8, 2002 and is constantly updated, this technology specifies an interface for wireless metropolitan networks (WMAN) and is under control of the WiMAX Forum, which is a group of companies responsible for the dissipation of this technology in the world, the great benefit of this standard is to offer broadband Internet connection in areas where there is no infrastructure such as fiber optics that has a cost higher. The main purpose of this paper is to present the theoretical and technical characteristics of this technology for both the standard for fixed and mobile standard, regulation of frequency bands by the FCC and description of the physical layer, through to basic concepts are used in many other types of radio link and technologies have been adapted and updated for this little-known standard, allowing a greater range and speed, which are specified and differentiate these advancements is one of the contributions of the work done here. After the theoretical conceptualization stage, a real case study has been inserted in this work to demonstrate the effectiveness of this technology deployed. Multioctave infrared supercontinuum generation in large-core As2S3 fibers

We report on infrared supercontinuum (SC) generation through laser filamentation and subsequent nonlinear propagation in a step-index As2S3 fiber. The 100 μm core and high-purity As2S3 fiber used exhibit zero-dispersion wavelength around 4.5 μm, a mid-infrared background loss of 0.2dB/m, and a maximum loss of only 0.55dB/m at the S-H absorption peak around 4.05 μm. When pumping with ultrashort laser pulses slightly above the S-H absorption band, broadband infrared supercontinua were generated with a 20 dB spectral flatness spanning from 1.5 up to 7 μm. The efficiency and spectral shape of the SC produced by ultrashort pulses in large-core As2S3 fiber are mainly determined by its dispersion, the S-H contaminant absorption, and the mid-infrared nonlinear absorption.

The objective of this paper is to discuss issues related to digital inclusion and citizenship in Brazil, through the approach of public policies gestated by the State in an attempt to insert Brazil in the Information Society via Digital Television through two projects: Brazilian Digital TV System (SBTVD) and the Brazilian National Internet Broadband Plan (PNBL), also called “Brazil Connected”. The methodology used was exploratory, with the procedures of bibliographic and documentary research, with the goal of pointing out how actions have been articulating and gestated by the Brazilian government.
