Carcinoma de células escamosas em assoalho vaginal de um bovino nelore associado a metástase em pulmão: relato de caso

The squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is a neoplasm that affect pets and production animals and it’s very common in tropical countries like Brazil; develops in sparsely pigmented, stratified squamous epithelium and in mucosal surfaces exposed Ultraviolet action. The SCC is quite infiltrative but rarely causes metastases. Its occurrence in the female reproductive tract is recognized in the literature on cattle breeds from Europe. This case was a female bovine, Nelore, adult, who was referred to the "Hospital Veterinário Luiz Quintiliano de Oliveira" with dark brown fluid leakage and putrid odor, associated with ulcerative growth of the vagina. Because the extent of injury, the animal was euthanized and taken to the necropsy, which was observed on board structure, ulcerated and pus in the vaginal floor, infiltrated into the pelvic cavity to the serosa of the uterine body. The microscopic findings were detected neoplastic proliferation of epithelial cells in the floor and vaginal metastases in the lung parenchyma, and classified the primary tumor and metastasis as squamous cell carcinoma moderately differentiated.

Interdisciplinaridade do plano de tratamento após reimplante dentário: relato de caso

O tratamento de escolha para a avulsão dentária é o reimplante dentário, no entanto diversos fatores interferem no prognóstico e a reabsorção radicular é a principal seqüela podendo levar a perda dentária. O objetivo do trabalho foi relatar um caso clínico de reimplante dentário com perda dentária por extensa reabsorção radicular e os planos de tratamento instituídos para reposição do dente perdido. Paciente após acidente motociclístico apresentou avulsão dentária e fratura coronária do elemento 21 e subluxação e fratura coronária do 11. Após quatro anos do reimplante o dente foi perdido por reabsorção radicular externa. Um novo plano de tratamento foi instituído e como a paciente apresentava uma maloclusão foi realizado um tratamento ortodôntico e uma cirurgia ortognática seguido da colocação de um implante para reposição do 21. Como não ocorreu a osseointegração do implante após três tentativas foi realizada uma prótese fixa adesiva associada à laminado de porcelana para o restabelecimento da função e a estética. Desta forma a interdisciplinaridade permitiu a elaboração de planos de tratamento, capaz de eliminar os imprevistos e conduzir o caso a um sucesso.

Combinação de técnicas para tratamento cirúrgico de fratura do complexo zigomático-maxilar: relato de caso

The zygomatic-maxillary complex due to its projection framed as one of the areas hardest hit by injuries, as well as the nasal bones. Component important in this context, the zygomatic arch fracture is under the direct action of forces due to its structure fragile, resulting in loss of normal convex curvature. Therefore, it is aimed to report a clinical case of male patient, who had leucoderma zygomatic bone fracture using access transcutaneous and intra-oral fracture reduction body of zygoma and zygomatic arch. In addition to evidence combination of closed and open techniques for solving the case. The technique provided the patient excellent cosmetic and functional results.

Controvérsias no tratamento das fraturas mandibulares em crianças: relato de caso clínico

Introduction: The treatment of mandibular fractures has undergone many changes, especially after the introduction of rigid internal fixation techniques. Currently, the use of resorbable materials presents some advantages over metallic devices, particularly when applied in children. Objective: The authors discuss the controversies involved in the treatment of mandibular fractures in children, mainly related to fixation of fractures. Case Report: In this paper, we present a case of a 5 years treatment patient with mandibular angle fracture treated by open reduction and internal fixation with plates and screws. Final Comments: Aiming to not interfere in the development of tooth germs and mandibular bone growth a second surgery for removal of the fixation devices is indicated.

Trauma traqueal associado à fratura mandibular: relato de caso

Introduction: The mandibular injuries account for about 20% to 50% of cases of facial fractures. Some consider the jaw the second most commonly fractured bone of the skull, and is the only mobile bone of the facial framework, which results in decreased stability compared to the trauma. When one takes into account the degree of airway obstruction in patients with facial fractures, the problem becomes much more serious since it is one of the most troubling complications of trauma. Objective: the relevance of the topic is aimed to report a case of a patient victim of mandibular fracture associated with trauma to the trachea. Case report: Case report: Patient 24 years old patient with tracheal trauma concomitant mandibular fracture surgically treated in conjunction with the thoracic surgeon. After 5 months postoperatively, the patient is in good condition general, no complaints. Final comments: This form is observed that the key to proper treatment of tracheal trauma associated with facial fractures is the knowledge of the type of injury, and an accurate diagnosis multidisciplinary.

Tumor odontogênico queratocístico: relato de caso

Introduction: The odontogenic keratocyst tumor (OKT) derived from dental lamina rests with particularities and specific histological features, with high rates of relapse and aggressive clinical behavior. Presents certain predilection for males, affecting the mandible of 60% to 80% of cases may be related to impacted tooth 25 to 45% of cases. Objective: To highlight the clinical, histopathological and imaging procedures of the OKT, as well as discuss the treatment of this injury. Case Report: To report a case of 10 years of age to look for the orthodontist to correct anterior open bite was observed in panoramic radiography radiolucent area in the region of the body of the mandible associated with pathological inclusion of the lower premolar. It was performed an incisional biopsy of the lesion and the histopathologic diagnosis was odontogenic keratocyst tumor. It was performed a CT scan to assess the extent of the injury and its relation to anatomic structures. How to conduct, we opted for the extraction of the deciduous molar and enucleation of the lesion, preserving the premolar included. The same goes on clinical and radiographic control 18 months, after removal of OKT obtaining the eruption of premolar that was involved in the injury. Final Comments: It is necessary to adopt protocols that include dental care knowledge of oral diagnosis, medical history and careful clinical evaluation without forgetting the need for histopathological confirmation.

Facial injuries vary in their clinical characteristics and complexity, deserves an appropriate approach for each case, considering that the failures may result in aesthetic and functional changes that can be harmful both functionally and psychologically. Aspects such as exposure time of the injury, anesthesia, suture materials and tetanus prophylaxis are important factors. The objective is to present a case of extensive facial injuries in an automobile accident patient.

Fratura do seio frontal: relato de caso

The frontal sinus fractures are derived from accidents of great intensity. Are usually associated with fractures of the midface, including the naso-orbital fractures and zygomatic ethmoid. Several treatment modalities have been proposed. In this case it was used to access bicoronal reconstruction of the anterior frontal sinus, and restore contour fronto-naso-orbital-ethmoid with satisfactory results.

Displasia cemento-óssea florida: relato de caso

The florid cemento-osseous dysplasia is an asymptomatic lesion present in the fibro-osseous maxilla and mandible of uncertain etiology. It has higher expression in females, and patients melanoderm, middle-aged to elderly. This dysplasia is an asymptomatic condition that can be discovered when a radiograph is performed. A biopsy is contraindicated to avoid infection difficult to treat. We report the case of a white woman 52 years old, who searched the Clinic of Surgery and Traumatology Bucco-maxillofacial surgery, Faculty of Dentistry of Araçatuba with pain in the posterior portion of left mandible. After radiographic examination was diagnosed with florid cementoosseous dysplasia. Treatment was instituted clinical and radiographic.

Acupuntura em disfunção temporomandibular: relato de caso clínico

A técnica milenar da Acupuntura vem sendo empregada na Odontologia e obtendo bons resultados em diversas situações. Analgesia, relaxamento muscular e inflamação vêm sendo controlados, demonstrando assim conexão entre Acupuntura e redução de certas sintomatologias. As reações locais e à distância necessitam de correto posicionamento das agulhas assim como integridade do sistema nervoso, e são decorrentes da liberação de neurotransmissores (noradrenalina, acetilcolina, serotoninas e dopamina). Nesse trabalho, apresentaremos um caso clínico (paciente MCH, 23 anos, gênero feminino), a qual apresentava crises de dor de cabeça (região temporal), fazendo uso constante de medicação analgésica e antiinflamatória, o diagnóstico estabelecido foi Dor Muscular Local associado à hiperatividade muscular. Através do uso da Acupuntura, após aplicações semanais por 3 meses, houve remissão da dor por completo.

Reabilitação protética implantossuportada em região anterior maxilar com utilização de gengiva artificial cerâmica: relato de caso

The osseointegrated implants created a progress in oral rehabilitation. But this rehabilitation may be complicated by anatomical conditions, mainly in maxillary anterior region, where a higher aesthetic is required. The aim of study was to report one case which the use of angled abutments were necessary to allow the correct positioning of the prosthesis and also the prosthetic reconstruction with gingival-colored ceramic to provide best aesthetic result for patient. The aesthetic and functional results provided greater patient satisfaction with her smile. The correct planning is essential to provide to patient the best aesthetic and functional results, being necessary the use of abutments and gingival-colored ceramic to reach better results. This type of prosthesis can be used for a short period of time, for aesthetic reasons, mastication, occlusal support, convenience or for the adaptation of the patients to the edentulous state, until the final prosthesis is installed. The objective of this study was to report a surgical and prosthetic rehabilitation planning of a patient by means of an immediate complete maxillary denture, and the results obtained with this treatment modality. Removable partial denture improve functional and aesthetic failures caused by partial loss of teeth, however specific characteristics of each patients can determine the success of treatment, especially with regard to the support of the prosthesis, which may depend on teeth, the combination of teehe and mucosa and currently associated with the dental implants. The aim of this study is report a case in which there was the need of the association, to enable better aesthetics and self-esteem to the patients. After implant placement and fabrication of prosthetic patient reported satisfaction with the rehabilitation treatment, improving their quality of life.
