Caracterização do grau de impermeabilização relativa das vertentes de uma bacia hidrográfica urbanizada: o exemplo do Córrego da Servidão - Rio Claro (SP)

The expansion and growth of towns affect the hydrology of watersheds included in the urban environment, impacting mainly the slopes and river channels. This interference can be in soil waterproofing, the runoff of rainwater, the extinction of surface drainage, the dynamics of flooding processes, etc. For studies concerning the hydrological behavior of watersheds, Remote Sensing techniques have been used to support the acquisition and analysis of data and also to generate new information from the integration of these data. In this context, the study aimed to characterize scenarios and conduct comparative analysis of urban occupation of parts of watershed the Córrego da Servidão, in Rio Claro (SP) and analyze the degree of waterproofing on the ground. With the support of the soil categories of waterproofing listed in Soil Conservation Service (S.C.S / USDA) this analysis was conducted, considering the scenarios of 1958 and 2006, through processes of interpretative analysis of panchromatic and color images aerofotogramétricas. The analysis, data integration and mapping of the watershed area were conducted in an environment of a Geographic Information System (GIS). The collective purchases translate into new business strategies that so far are poorly studied, but they have modifyied considerably the forms of consumption through the consumers individualisation, which causes changes in society's routine. The analysis of the theme was performed by study cases of collective shopping places in the city of Campinas, country of the state of São Paulo, and on its influence in the metropolitan area, which intented to understand, through custumers interviews, the contradictions and peculiarities of this service that has increased each day more . For this purpose, the research methodology is focused on the consumer , that's because the process of productive change tied to forms of trade and distribution of goods have been transforming social values considerably, based increasingly on impulsive consumming . Thus, to understand how the electronic commerce and more specifically the collective shopping websites works, it's necessary to examine the forms of commerce and the consumer's behavior in order to explain the city organization and the contradictions of the geographic space

Imagens para des-focar: possibilidades de infâncias outras

No contexto de meu envolvimento em três projetos de pesquisa, que objetiva uma reflexão em torno dos processos de produção imagética de/e com crianças, muitas questões no tocante aos modos de conceber a infância aparecem. A criança, pelas imagens, nos apresentam um mundo recortado por olhares rápidos, que produzem imagens nem sempre exatas e nítidas, sendo assim, no percurso das pesquisas, há imagens que chamam atenção por aquilo que nelas pode ser diferente, produzindo outros sentidos, sentidos outros. No contexto de produção de diversas imagens realizadas pelas crianças envolvidas na pesquisa, este trabalho objetiva refletir sobre o conceito de infância, partindo do que emerge das imagens que aqui chamaremos de „imagens desfocadas‟. Para um fotógrafo criar uma imagem com a intensidade de movimento apresentada nas „imagens desfocadas‟ das crianças, existem inúmeras técnicas: câmeras especializadas, photoshops. Apesar disto, o que verificamos com as crianças, é que estas só precisaram do movimento do corpo, do clicar do botão e o desejo de brincar para produzir tais imagens. Pensando nessa questão, vemos que, ao passo que a sociedade nos molda, vamos nos “desinfantilizando” e perdemos a “capacidade” de nos movimentar a ponto de apropriar-nos de recursos tecnológicos para substituir o que poderíamos fazer no movimentodo corpo. Neste contexto, conjeturar os conceitos de infância a partir dessas imagens desfocadas,pode criar caminhos para pensar possibilidades de uma educação do olhar e a necessidade de uma pedagogia menor, ”infantilizada”

Análise das ocorrências de escorregamento por meio de imagens Geoeye em trecho da faixa de dutos Rio de Janeiro - Belo Horizonte

The analysis of natural processes, such as landslides, has a great importance for the prevention of accidents in pipelines, since it might compromise its security, with serious social and environmental implications. Considering the large territorial dimensions that pipelines can reach, remote sensing tools have great applicability for data acquisition, allowing the analysis of large areas in regular time periods. This study aims to analyze the relations between the occurrence of landslides and its natural conditionings, on a stretch of the ORBEL pipeline, in the municipalities of Duque de Caxias, Nova Iguaçu and Belford Roxo – Rio de Janeiro. GeoEye sensor system images were used with spatial resolution of 0.5 m, from November/2009, January/2010 and March/2010, that are months of summer rains. The work involved the characterization of the study area and existing landslides, through bibliographic data collection; the application of visual analysis techniques for the extraction of landslide scars and fractures; preparation of maps for the landslide constraints and preparation of the susceptibility map. In the images from November only three landslide scars were extracted, while in January there were 166 and 111 in March. Difficulties were found with the shading in the images. From the relations among landslide scars, lithological units, relief systems, slope, downhill profile and the generated map of landslide susceptibility, presented in 1:70,000 scale, it was possible to conclude that slope is the main determinant of the process, allied secondarily to downhill profile, relief systems and lithology

A contribuição da aplicação de sistemas de informações geográficas na elaboração dos insumos cartográficos utilizados no censo demográfico do Brasil de 2010

The demographic census is the largest and most important socioeconomic research of the country since it portrays the situation closer to the reality of the population. Their result allows public policy making aimed at improving the quality of life, socioeconomic development and provides information for decision making on public and private sector. Due to the large amount of data collected, the processing of such information requires increasingly use information technology to facilitate processing. Therefore, the increasingly common use of the Geographic Information System (GIS) in various fields of knowledge contributes to the job achievement given its ability to collect, store, retrieve and view data. Following this trend, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statics (IBGE) also used this tool in the development of cartographic inputs, wich plays a key role for the data collection range nationwide

Estimação de densidades e aplicação em segmentação de imagens

The aim of this work is to study some of the density estimation tec- niques and to apply to the segmentation of medical images. Medical images are used to help the diagnostic of tumor diseases as well as to plan and deliver treatment. A computer image is an array of values representing colors in some scale. The smallest element of the image to which it is possible to assign a value is called pixel. Segmen- tation is the process of dividing the image in portions through the classi¯cation of each pixel. The simplest way of classi¯cation is by thresholding, given the number of portions and the threshold values. Another method is constructing a histogram of the pixel values and assign a portion to each pike. The threshold is the mean between two pikes. As the histogram does not form a smooth curve it is di±cult to discern between true pikes and random variation. Density estimation methods allow the estimation of a smooth curve. Image data can be considered as mixture of different densities. In this project parametric and nonparametric methods for density estimation will be addressed and some of them are applied to CT image data

Gama Câmara CZT: alteração de paradigmas em aquisição de imagens de medicina nuclear

Nuclear medicine is a medical specialty related to imagery that deals with imaging techniques, diagnosis and therapy, allowing observing the physiological state of tissues noninvasively by marking the molecules participating of these physiological processes with radioactive isotopes, thus creating the called radionuclides. The image of a radionuclide is one of the most important applications of radioactivity in nuclear medicine. The equipment’s of nuclear medicine imaging use the principle of radiation detection, turning it into an electrical signal which, through specific algorithms, allows forming tomographic images that provide information about the functional status of organs. New detection systems have been developed for tomographic acquisitions using solid state detectors. These devices use crystals of cadmium zinc telluride (CdZnTe). Some of the advantages of this detector are a significant improvement of signal to noise ratio, the increased spectral and spatial resolution, which in sum, result in greater clarity of the images obtained, opening new perspectives for imaging protocols previously unattainable. In contrast, all other gamma-cameras equipped with vacuum tubes have remained relatively unchanged for nearly fifty years. In these gamma-cameras, the images are obtained using two steps significantly less efficient: the gamma rays are converted to light through a first device, and then the light is converted into an electrical signal through a second device. One of functions the Medical Physicist is related to the quality control of equipment. This control ensures that the information and images provided are true and thus credible to be used in medical reports. Imagens da literatura brasileira traduzida: análise de capas

Da escrivaninha do autor às prateleiras das livrarias, todo texto “veste-se”, orna-se de acessórios, até tornar-se o objeto-livro, ser oferecido ao público e ser lido/consumido pelo leitor. Essas transformações, ocorridas em sua maioria na fase da editoração, podem ou não contar com a participação e, sobretudo, com o aval do autor. Quanto maior o sucesso ou prestígio da obra ou do escritor, mais próximo o autor parece estar das decisões de um lançamento e mais afastado de todos os seus desdobramentos: reedições, posteriores edições populares ou de bolso, traduções. A análise paratextual, mais especificamente a análise das capas de livros, permite-nos observar, quanto à publicação de literatura brasileira no exterior, que o mercado editorial estrangeiro adota com frequência, como vem ocorrendo há décadas, a opção com forte apelo ao exotismo tropical: paisagens cariocas, frutas coloridas, biótipos negro ou mestiço. Em algumas ocasiões, entretanto, notamos a preocupação na correspondência temática ou de gênero com a obra. Em ambos os casos os resultados podem ser surpreendentes, bem sucedidos ou provocar malentendidos e interpretações ambíguas. Propomos neste trabalho a apreciação e a análise de alguns desses casos em autores de literatura brasileira traduzidos e consagrados no exterior como escritores de literatura policial e suas vertentes: Rubem Fonseca, Patrícia Melo, Garcia-Roza e Tony Bellotto, começando por Rubem Fonseca.
