The evolution of ceramic systems currently allows the manufacture of prosthesis similar to the natural teeth, meeting the expectations of patients. However, when using vitreous ceramic the color of substrate is significant for the esthetic result, requiring planning aesthetic cores when involved reconstruction of endodontically treated teeth without coronal structure. Thus, the aim of this study to describe a case report of aesthetic rehabilitation in upper anterior teeths using vitreous ceramic system for the reconstruction of elements: 11, 12, 21 and 22 after endodontically treated. It was emphasized the removal of crowns and manufacture of custom cast post and core with ceramic in coronal portion, prioritizing the aesthetic result. Through the clinical results observed can be seen that the use of custom cast post and core with ceramic in association lithium disilicate glass ceramics provided a satisfactory aesthetic result.

The evolution of techniques and materials applied to adhesive ceramic restorations resulted in the intensification of its use, proving to be an excellent method of aesthetic restoration. Some important features of this technique are its conservative preparation, which avoids an excessive loss of tooth structure and its high aesthetic value provided by the ceramic even when utilized under different color of dental substrates. The aim of this paper was to report a clinical case with full crowns, porcelain veneers and non-prep veneers, enhancing peculiarities related to the material used, tooth preparation techniques, cementing, indications and contraindications.

The aim of this study was to review the current scientific literature to discuss the biomechanical behavior and characteristics inherent to both cast post and core and the prefabricated posts used in the practice of restoring endodontically treated teeth. To identify studies of this review, it was performed a detailed and advanced search strategy to the databases PubMed and Medline. It was used as descriptors: endodontically treated teeth, post, core, fiber post and metal post. Inclusion criteria were: clinical trials, randomized controlled trials, in vitro studies, literature reviews and systematic reviews with or without meta-analysis of the last 10 years that addressed the theme. Exclusion criteria were: articles without abstracts, animal studies, articles whose language was not English and articles from journals that do not belong to the Dentistry field. Of a total of 35 articles, after an analysis according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, 23 articles were selected. Most of the current scientific literature indicates that the prefabricated fiber reinforced and ceramic posts should be appointed for endodontically treated teeth that have a minimum height of 2mm ferrule. As for the cast metal cores, along with pre-fabricated metal represent a good prosthetic option, when weakened teeth have to be restored for any reason. Despite the large number of studies, there is still a lack of longterm prospective studies that evaluate the effectiveness of these posts in the treatment of endodontically treated teeth.

Various surface treatments of dental implants have been developed in order to ensure anchorage to bone tissue, optimization of the determinants of electronic structure, crystallinity, composition and properties. Coating techniques have been proposed in order tocreate unionbiochemicalable to accelerate the early stages ofbone tissue, combining the positive properties of titanium and its alloys bioactivity of ceramic materials. This paper discusses protocol for handling the SBF coating of titanium alloys. The apatite phase nucleation occurs by immersing the substrate in synthetic solution simulating blood plasma (Simulated Body Fluid). The protocol allows manipulation of the SBF solution to establish guidelines regarding the usestreamlinedand organized to make practical application.

O presente modelo de utilidade descreve uma disposição construtiva em cadeira de banho para indivíduos com deficiência física motora e/ou com falta de estabilidade ou sustentação do tronco corporal que apresenta a estrutura do assento e do encosto de espuma de polietileno expandido de alta densidade, substituindo os convencionais revestimentos de material sintético, que não garante conforto ao usuário quando molhado e que se degenera rapidamente tendo em vista a umidade a que se encontra exposto, e alavancas dispostas nas laterais do assento interligadas à braços que se projetam descendentes com porção extrema inferior dotada de um batente que envolve a porção anterior das rodas frontais, evitando os tombamentos frontais nas situações de alteração do posicionamento do usuário em relação ao centro de gravidade da cadeira.

Graphic Design is a profession established with advent artistic vanguards of the twentieth century. As professional activity, it works with planning and projects which involve the visual solution of communication and information problems. Then, The Surface Design is the professional practice pledged with the elaboration of projects for coatings and application in products, giving attention to the production and materials in the processes. The relation between both Design areas is connected, at first, by the two-dimensional characteristic. In Brazil, academic study about Surface Design is in evolution and some universities works with this subject. Analyzing the concepts and characteristics concerning methodologies that comprehend both Graphic Design and Surface Design becomes a current and including subject. Therefore, it is necessary the conceptual unfolding and methodological in order to establish relations and contributions involved in the field of Graphic Design and apply them in Surface Design. Thus, the present study aimed to check concepts and particular functions of Graphic Design and to establish its relations and contributions for Surface Design. The results of this study can be used as teaching support and professional practice.

Mining activities are directly related to changes in natural landscapes. With the objective of analyzing the changes imposed by the geomorphological dynamics of human action in areas of mining clay, two fragments were selected from the basin of Ribeirão Santa Gertrudes / SP, representing denudational and sedimentation processes respectively. This area is within the context of the Ceramic Pole Santa Gertrudes / SP, which besides its importance as a supplier of raw material, is characterized as the largest center of international reference in ceramic tiles on the American continent. Data was collected and analyzed from the perspective of anthropogenic geomorphology supported by general systems theory and uses techniques from evolutionary geomorphological mapping. Thus, geomorphological mapping were produced concerning three scenarios, which date from 1962, 1988 and 2006 in a scale of 1:10.000. These surveys allowed us to infer a detailed investigation of the evolution of changes in topography and hydrology, geomorphology representative of the original (1962), which has characteristics of an earlier phase of earlier existing large mining pits, and its evolution to a anthropogenic geomorphological stage, represented by active disruption scenarios dating from 1988 and 2006. The last two scenarios have analyzed changes in the dimensions of relief features when compared with the original scenario representative of geomorphology, as well as an intense reallocation of surface and subsurface materials, in which human action is highlighted by becoming responsible for sculpting the landscape through the imposition of control mechanisms to natural processes.

This work is part of several research related to the plan of design and construction of a sustainable house. The previous researches focused on sustainable materials and it have shown that ceramic material are more interesting to improve the thermal comfort and the reduction of fees and prices of the house, making possible to construct popular home, mainly clay bricks, that have high thermal inertia and low costs, besides the fact that it is easy to find the raw materials in nature and process them. However, a major issue in using clay bricks is that it uses too many energy to be processed during the sintering (burning), a crucial part of the process that assures mechanical resistance. Alternative materials are being proposed by the researchers, as the clay bricks without the sintering mixed with Portland cement, assuring the proper resistance to the brick. Raw materials of cement, however, also need to be thermally processed in rotary kilns, in a process called clinckerization. This research was proposed for comparing the energy used by the two types of bricks and other objectives, in order to determinate which one uses less thermal energy. The intention was to compare the energy used during the sintering of regular clay bricks and the unfired bricks with 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90% and 100% of Portland cement. The paper also investigated and compared the use of electrical and thermal energy of all the bricks to identify how important were the thermal stages (sintering or clinkerization) relatively to the total energy spent. At last, a resumed analysis was performed to identify the possible health damages of the many life cycles of the bricks. The conclusion was that unfired bricks with less than 40% of cement use less thermal energy to be processed. In addition, their carbon dioxides emissions were less dangerous to ... Machining processes are one of the most important manufacturing processes in the modern world. In these processes, there are many elements which will influence in the final result of the machined part. Among them, the tools are the principal factor of the rising cost, because its global influence on the process. In aeronautical industries, this can be more evidenced due the need to machining several alloys, between them, aluminum alloys. These alloys have to demonstrate a specific surface finishing to be used in aircraft's fuselage. This kind of industry is one of the segments which is still rising in Brazil, and they are looking viable alternatives in the manufacturing processes of materials, due the need to produce more and more parts and equipment, with costs increasingly reduced. The purpose of this project is the development of a ceramic with differentiated properties. The ceramics were developed using a pre-sintering at 1200 °C, with posterior sintering at 1600°C, and subjected to dry turning process on aluminum alloy 6005. The characterizations showed that ceramics presented with toughness on the center of 1700 MPa and on the surface of 1950 MPa, density 98,5 ±0,14. g/cm³. Ceramics were grinded and faceted, according to ISO standard 1832, and subjected to turning tests in a ROMI lathe brand, model GL240M, using cutting speeds of 500, 800 and 1000 m/min with different feed rates. The machining results showed low occurrence of flank wear to all cutting speeds, and better surface finishing average values of Ra = 0,4935 μm and Rt = 8,112 μm. In general, it could be seen that the tool presents important potential to machining 6005 alloy, and that the use of correct parameters can decrease and/or eliminate subsequent processes, providing important reductions in costs related to the machining processes
