Atualmente, as pesquisas acadêmicas e industriais não estão voltadas apenas para a descoberta de novos fármacos, mas também para novas maneiras de administração de medicamentos pretendendo obter melhores ações farmacológicas alem de reduzir efeitos colaterais. Partindo deste pressuposto, estudos demonstram que inúmeras moléculas podem ser incorporadas a polímeros híbridos orgânico-inorgânico preparados pelo processo sol-gel, assim pretende-se estudar a possibilidade de sua aplicação no desenvolvimento de um dispositivo de liberação controlada de fármacos na forma de implantes subcutâneos. As matrizes hibridas para serem implantadas devem, necessariamente, ser estéreis. Para isto este trabalho analisa a interação entre o processo de esterilização e uma provável alteração estrutural nestes polímeros. A esterilização por calor úmido em autoclave e a esterilização por radiação gama foram escolhidas para analisar a correlação entre alteração estrutural do hibrido e o processo de eliminação de microorganismos. Outro aspecto que levamos em consideração foi a melhora das características mecânicas das matrizes poliméricas confeccionadas com poli óxido etileno de peso molecular 1900 (POE 1900) e poli óxido propileno de peso molecular 400 (POP 400). Para serem implantadas estas matrizes devem estar uniformes, e não podem trincar ou quebrar antes ou após a implantação. Considerando estes fatores foi adicionado as amostras um agente plastificante, o álcool polivinílico (PVA), na tentativa de melhorar estas características

A grande quantidade de resíduos plásticos sintéticos descartada diariamente no meio ambiente tem preocupado governantes do mundo todo. No sentido de minimizar este problema várias soluções estão sendo propostas. Uma delas é a busca de materiais potencialmente biodegradáveis no solo. Neste trabalho desenvolveu-se blendas de poli(3-hidroxibutirato) PHB, um polímero biodegradável, com polietileno de baixa densidade PEBD, um polímero convencional e avaliou-se os efeitos do termotratamento em estufa e do fototratamento em câmara de envelhecimento acelerado sobre a biodegradação destes filmes em coluna de solo. As blendas de PEBD/PHB foram preparadas em composições de 90/10, 80/20 e 70/30, utilizando prensa sob aquecimento e os filmes foram analisados por Espectroscopia de Absorção no Infravermelho (FTIR), Microscopia de Luz Polarizada (MLP), perda de massa e ângulo de contato.

Water is an essential element for life. The use of this element, to support the community, defines it as water resource. This feature is being misused and degraded by the dumping of highly contaminated effluents. The impoverishment of its quality poses a risk to human consumption. The necessity to manage this resource, treating the wastewater properly, requires the constant improvement of treatment systems. Another need is to adjust the cost of systems to the demands of communities with less financial clout. This study aimed to adapt and understand the systems of wetlands, improving its efficiency, in an attempt to collaborate with the enrichment of this technology. The practical evidence, with lab-scale prototypes, assembled in ETE Piracicamirim with urban sewage effluent contributed to highlight the problems and operating system design. The bibliographic review showed that several studies had effectiveness for treatment. But it was evident the need for better understanding of dimensioning definitions that better attempted to the answers into the project. Moreover, standardization of system conditions for the specific wastewater treatment is an interesting field, identified, for future studies yet contribute to environmental engineering and sanitation

This work has as main theme optimize the method of determination of fatty acids such as methyl octanoate, methyl palmitate, methyl stearate, methyl oleate, methyl linoleate and methyl linolenate in blood plasma samples from mice. The method proved to be very suitable for the analysis, in which we obtained the following linear coefficients: 0.9992, 0.9989, 0.9996, 0.9995, 0.9999 for methyl linoleate acid, methyl oleate, methyl palmitate, methyl stearate and methyl octanoate, respectively. Esterification of the samples gave good reading of chromatograms of samples without interfering peaks. The results obtained were as expected from the diet of mices

O pescado e seus derivados têm uma grande importância na dieta, em todo o mundo. Sabe-se que peixes e frutos do mar fortalecem o sistema imunológico, contribuem para a redução dos níveis de colesterol, diminuem as chances de depressão, ajudam na formação dos músculos e protegem contra doenças cardiovasculares. Também, são ricos em vitaminas lipossolúveis A, D e E, além do ômega 3. Muitas vezes, esses produtos são consumidos crus ou com pouco preparo e com isso faz-se necessário medidas higiênico- sanitárias, pois podem ser contaminados com micro-organismos causadores de doenças. A análise microbiológica dos alimentos para se verificar a presença de micro-organismos prejudiciais é fundamental para se conhecer as condições de higiene nas quais estes alimentos foram preparados. Assim, 80 amostras de peixes e frutos do mar de peixarias e supermercados de Botucatu, SP, foram analisadas com o objetivo de verificar se esses alimentos estão dentro dos padrões estabelecidos pela legislação brasileira, através da RDC nº12, através da detecção da presença de Salmonella sp., Staphylococcus aureus e determinação do número mais provável de coliformes termotolerantes (CT), mesmo que este último não faça parte dos parâmetros para esse alimento, mas foi pesquisado para avaliação de suas condições higiênicas. Cada amostra (25 gramas) foi homogeneizada em 225ml de água peptonada e para a detecção de S. aureus, utilizou-se método spread Baird Parker, seguida de catalase, coagulase e kit Dry Spot. Para a detecção de Salmonella, utilizou-se caldo tetrationato (35ºC/24h) e Rapapport (42ºC/24h), semeados em ágar SS e XLD. As colônias foram testadas em TSI, ágar fenilalanina e testadas em poli soros somático e flagelar. Multicomponent Reactions are defined as reactions between three or more reagents in a single reaction step in the same reaction vial, forming a product that includes the majority of atoms and structural characteristics of the reagents. Thus these reactions save time and energy. One of the ways to improve the yield and reaction time of a multicomponent reaction is to use different catalysts, an example of catalyst that shows great potential and has been studied in recent years is the molecular iodine is known to be a Lewis acid with high catalytic power. The functionalized piperidines, also known as tetrahydropyridines, are alkaloids that have pharmacological potential, this is due to the piperidine ring present in many natural product structures with muscarinic activity, nicotine, analgesic, antipsychotic, anti-proliferative, among others. In this paper we describe studies about on the application of molecular iodine (I2) in the multicomponent reaction between aniline derivatives, benzaldehyde and β-ketoester (methyl acetoacetate) for the synthesis of functionalized piperidines and the synthesis of a corresponding piperidone by acid hydrolysis. Data analysis allowed us to demonstrate the efficacy of molecular iodine in the synthesis of functionalized piperidines, obtaining results with yields 44-87% and short reaction time of 8 to 24 hours, and the efficacy of acid hydrolysis of enamine in the structure of the tetrahydropyridine derivative in a yield of 81%

This paper emerged from a reflection on the troubles afflicting and shocked teachers, especially early in his career, among which stands out both in studies and in reports propagated by the teachers themselves: the violence manifested in and out of classrooms. Given this finding and the obvious need for overcoming beyond ephemeral measures, this research outlines two equally important goals: a) incite the discussion of violence at the time of initial teacher training as well as the emergence of new studies concerning this subject in academic research and b) transgress the tradition of research that consists in recommending prescriptions to be applied about how banning school violence, disregarding the peculiarities of each context. These objectives are derived from following question: which strategies are developed in undergraduate courses that aim to preparing of future teachers to deal with the phenomenon of violence in elementary school? Intending to answer this question and, therefore, contemplate the objectives outlined we opted for specialized bibliographic material analysis, systematically selected as the method. As a main result, it was found that the discussion of the theme of school violence in the initial teacher training is something still scarce in practice and incipient in the sphere of research. Therefore, we emphasize the importance of strengthening of this discussion so that when they get into career teaching, future teachers feel adequately subsidized up to face the everyday challenges that may manifest over the profession.

Introduction The aim of this study was to compare the effect of QMix, BioPure MTAD, 17 % EDTA, and saline on the penetrability of a resin-based sealer into dentinal tubules using a confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM) and to describe the cleaning of root canal walls by SEM. Methods Eighty distobuccal roots from upper molars were selected and randomly divided into four groups (n=20) before root canal preparation according to the solution used in the final rinse protocol (FRP): QG (QMix), MG (BioPure MTAD), EG (17 % EDTA), and CG (control group: saline). Ten roots of each group were prepared for SEM, and images (×2000) from the canal walls were acquired. The remaining canals were filled with a single gutta-percha cone and AH Plus with 0.1 % Rhodamine B. The specimens were horizontally sectioned at 4 mm from the apex, and the slices were analyzed in CLSM (×10). Sealer penetration was analyzed with Adobe Photoshop software. Results QG and EG presented similar amounts of sealer penetration (P>.05). MG and CG presented the lowest penetrability values (P<.05). The best results for smear layer removal of the apical third of the root canal were achieved by the QG and EG groups when compared with MG and CG (P<.05). Conclusions Seventeen percent EDTA and QMix promoted sealer penetration superior to that achieved by BioPure MTAD and saline. Clinical relevance Despite studies have not confirmed the relationship between sealing ability of endodontic sealers and their penetration in dentinal tubules, sealer penetration assumes importance, since endodontic sealers, unlike guttapercha, are able to penetrate in dentinal tubules, isthmus, and accessory canals, filling the root canal system.

To evaluate the effect of oxalic acid in cervical hypersensitivity, used under two different resin restorations one based on methacrylate and another based on silorane. Methods: 19 patients with “LCNC with hypersensitivity” were distributed into 4 groups according to treatment: G1 (n = 31): 0.5% oxalic acid (Desenssiv, SSWhite) + Z250 (3MESPE), G2 (n = 31): 0.5% oxalic acid + Filtek Silorane - P90 (3MESPE), G3 (n = 30): Distilled water + Z250; G4 (n = 30): Distilled water + Filtek Silorane - P90. Two clinical calibrated (kappa> 0.75) evaluated the sensitivity of the teeth: Before treatment, at 30, 60 and 90 days post-treatment (VAS). Results: The 4 groups at 30, 60 and 90 days reduced HS compared with the baseline (p <0.05). G1 and G2 showed less HS than G3 and G4 (p <0.05). Conclusion: The 4 restorative procedures significantly reduce the hypersensitivity, 30, 60 and 90 days compared to the baseline.
