The invention relates to the synthesis and characterisation of ruthenium(II) phosphine complexes containing picolinate and/or diimine and/or biphosphine ions and having an outstanding pharmacological activity for inhibiting the growth of tuberculosis mycobacteria. These complexes can first be used in the chemical industry, and in the medium and long term, in the pharmaceutical industry. The invention also describes how the activity against tuberculosis bacillus was determined, and how the toxicity of the complexes against macrophage cells within which the tuberculosis bacillus grows was assessed.

This study aimed to investigate the potential use of magnetic susceptibility (MS) as pedotransfer function to predict soil attributes under two sugarcane harvesting management systems. For each area of 1 ha (one with green sugarcane mechanized harvesting and other one with burnt sugarcane manual harvesting), 126 soil samples were collected and subjected to laboratory analysis to determine soil physical, chemical and mineralogical attributes and for measuring of MS. Data were submitted to descriptive statistics by calculating the mean and coefficient of variation. In order to compare the means in the different harvesting management systems it was carried out the Tukey test at a significance level of 5%. In order to investigate the correlation of the MS with other soil properties it was made the correlation test and aiming to assess how the MS contributes to the prediction of soil complex attributes it was made the multiple linear regressions. The results demonstrate that MS showed, in both sugarcane harvesting management systems, statistical correlation with chemical, physical and mineralogical soil attributes and it also showed potential to be used as pedotransfer function to predict attributes of the studied oxisol.

The knowledge on spatial distribution of soil properties by means of geostatistics is important as an indicator for a better soil use and management. This study aimed at evaluating the spatial distribution of soil chemical properties, in a forest and pasture area in Manicoré, Amazonas State, Brazil. Grids with 70.00 m x 70.00 m, with regular spacing of 10.00 m x 10.00 m, totaling 64 points, were established, and then soil samples were collected at the depths of 0.0-0.20 m and 0.40-0.60 m and had their chemical properties determined. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and geostatistics, and the sampling density analysis was based on the coefficient of variation and semivariograms range. The mean and median values were adjusted to the closest values, indicating normal distribution, while the spherical, exponential and gaussian models were adjusted to the soil chemical properties. It was concluded that the geostatistics provided adequate information for understanding the spatial distribution. The forest area showed a higher spatial continuity and the pasture area a lower sampling density. The chemical properties showed differences in the spatial variability, while the range represented better the estimates for sampling density and spacing, in the forest and pasture area.

A presente invenção se refere à síntese e caracterização de complexos fosfínicos de rutênio (II) contendo o íon picolinato e/ou dilminas e/ou bifosfinas com ótima atividade farmacológica na inibição do crescimento da micobactéria da tuberculose. Tais complexos poderão primeiramente ser utilizados na indústria química e a médio e longo prazo na indústria farmacêutica. A presente invenção descreve também como foi realizada a determinação da atividade contra o bacilo da tuberculose, bem como avalia a toxicidade dos complexos contra as células de macrófagos onde o bacilo da tuberculose se internalíza.
