Biodiversity is a result of millions of years of biological evolution, and is the component of the system which supports life on our planet. Besides the intrinsic value of each species, all of them as a whole, as well as of the interactions among the species, and their interaction with the physical and chemical environment, result in ecosystem services vital for supporting life on Earth. Because of that, the science of biodiversity is largely recognized as a priority area of scientific investigation both in developed and developing countries. In Brazil, the research on biodiversity can be divided in three parts: 1) discovery and characterization of biodiversity – including marine and human-altered landscapes – systematics and taxonomy; 2) understanding the functioning of ecosystems and environmental services, including in marine and human-altered landscapes; 3) bioprospecting of the chemical diversity of the Brazilian biota.

Teaching cases are records, through written narratives, of an academic episode or incident, they appear in educational scenery as a rich strategy not only for the teacher's conformation but also for their investigation. The bibliography shows that young students are still not very much investigated and it contributes to the establishment of negative images of this social subject. In this sense, the objective of this work is to analyze the stories and episodes, called teaching cases, in narrative style, written by students from High School about their physical education classes. The participants of this study are High School students from two public schools from two cities in the countryside of São Paulo state. The researcher stayed in the schools for nine months and in this meantime she made contact with the students, asking, for the ones who showed interest, the construction of teaching cases. For this interested students, the researcher explained researcher explained what teaching cases are, as well as, she presented a template to guide them in the production. At the end of this process, twenty teaching cases were delivered to the researcher. They were analyzed under the qualitative approach, valuing the expressive wealth in the narratives, complemented by the interviews with the authors. Inset the mosaic of narratives and interviews, showing a variety of experiences and possibilities of distance and approximation of the students to the physical education classes, we can indicate that from the 20 cases, only one was set as a total distance from the physical education classes (this is the student's situation since she was in the second grade from elementary school). Mentioning the positive experiences and the approximation to the physical education classes, the association of teaching cases and interviews showed that seven students lived the context and until today present an affective proximity to the classes. O Brasil está passando por um grande processo de desenvolvimento e crescimento, com isso o Governo Federal criou o PAC 2 (Plano de Aceleração do Crescimento), que prevê melhorias da educação, saúde e infraestrutura, entre elas, a construção de usinas hidrelétricas para suprir as necessidades energéticas do país. Existem outras formas de gerar energias, porém a decisão do Governo Federal em construir hidrelétricas se dá pelo o fato de o Brasil ter um alto potencial hidráulico, principalmente na região Amazônica, onde esse potencial ainda é pouco explorado. No presente trabalho vamos discutir sobre a construção da UHE de Belo Monte na Volta grande do rio Xingu e seus impactos ambientais, sob uma visão da ecologia de paisagem, a curto e médio prazo. Com o estudo do EIA e RIMA da Belo Monte, já é possível prevê a formação de um fragmento no Médio Xingu. A UHE trará desenvolvimento para região, com isso o desmatamento irá aumentar para suprir a demanda de habitação, alimentos, locomoção e estrutura urbana. O fragmento sofrerá com impactos da urbanização ao redor, e a esperança é que as terras indígenas freiem o desmatamento e não deixa o fragmento diminuir ainda mais, prejudicando mais ainda a biodiversidade do local

The Geomorphology is to study the relevant object, which is the substrate where there are social relations, where society draws the natural resources for their survival and structure its immediate surroundings. In this context, the geomorphological map is currently considered as an important tool in landscape research. The landscapes of the city of Estrela do Norte-SP and surroundings consist mostly of geological substratum of sedimentary rock formations of Adamantina and Santo Anastácio (IPT, 1981a). Geomorphologically dominated by large reliefs of gently rolling hills tops and pedologicamente, the Oxisols and Ultisols Red-Yellow (Oliveira et al., 1999), which historically without proper management, formed a serious degradation of erosive framework in the study area. Thus, this study aimed to produce a map of the major compartments of the municipality Estrela do Norte-SP and surrounding areas, using techniques of digital stereoscopy. In relation to the procedures used in developing the mapping of geomorphological compartments, the main references were Tricart (1965) and Ross (1992).
