Modulação da velocidade do andar em indivíduos com doença de Parkinson em estágio leve e moderado

A doença de Parkinson (DP) é uma patologia crônica, degenerativa e progressiva acarretada pela perda de neurônios dopaminérgicos da substância negra (parte compacta), localizada nos núcleos da base. Os comprometimentos na marcha estão entre as principais consequências da DP. Entretanto, pouco se conhece sobre o efeito do estágio da doença na modulação da velocidade do andar. Assim, o objetivo do estudo foi verificar como pacientes em diferentes estágios da DP modulam os parâmetros do andar quando requeridos a andar em máxima velocidade. Os participantes do estudo foram indivíduos com DP idiopática em estágio unilateral (entre 1 e 1,5 na Escala de Hoehn & Yahr) e bilateral (entre 2 e 3 na Escala de Hoehn & Yahr). Inicialmente, os participantes foram submetidos a uma avaliação clínica, realizada por um médico neuropsiquiatra, para verificar o acometimento geral e o estágio da doença. Os dados da avaliação clínica foram utilizados para a distribuição dos participantes entre os dois grupos. Em seguida, os participantes foram convidados a andar sobre uma passarela de 10m de comprimento em duas condições experimentais: Velocidade preferida e velocidade máxima. Somente o grupo bilateral não foi capaz de modular o comprimento da passada na condição de velocidade máxima. Os resultados sugerem que a evolução da DP compromete a capacidade dos pacientes em modular a amplitude de movimentos (comprimento da passada) quando são requeridos a andar em velocidade máxima

This article is devoted to a brief analysis of representations of women in As meninas, by Lygia Fagundes Telles, focusing on the three main characters of the novel and also on some secondary characters. The novel is set within a context that was characterized by a double crisis: the political crisis arising from authoritarianism and violence of the military dictatorship, and the crisis of the patriarchy system, due to the gradual political and social emancipation of women. Análise de fadiga em rodas automotivas utilizando método dos elementos finitos

The increasing search for better performance at the automotive industry, especially on the matter of fuel consumption, caused a progressive evolution of industrial technology. For the wheel this study is based on the try of reducing mass and decreasing the moment of inertia, characteristics that directly reflect on the performance parameter, as consumption and acceleration, so that it also is effective on the growth of the profit margin, since it reduces the costs of the locomotion. In this paper will be applied the Finite Element Analysis to explain the wheel behavior and identify ways to improve the performance. To the analyze it will be simulated a test condition established by ABNT NBR 6751:2009 foreseeing a possible collapse through general yielding and fatigue. Critérios diagnóstico para a cardiomiopatia arritmogênica do ventrículo direito em cães: revisão sistemática

A cardiomiopatia arritmogênica do ventrículo direito (CAVD) é uma enfermidade de caráter hereditário na qual há uma lenta e progressiva degeneração do miocárdio. As apresentações clínicas podem variar desde um animal saudável, assintomático, a episódios de síncope, fraqueza, intolerância ao exercício, tosse e aumento de volume abdominal. Visto a dificuldade diagnóstica devido às variações na forma de apresentação da doença e os diferentes achados de exames complementares, esta revisão sistemática tem como objetivo definir o melhor critério diagnóstico para a CAVD. Um total de 24 artigos foi utilizado, sendo que 18 destes relatavam o critério diagnóstico utilizado. O melhor exame complementar encontrado foi o eletrocardiograma (Holter-24 horas), no qual animais que apresentam mais de 1000 contrações ventriculares prematuras (CVPs) em 24 horas são considerados doentes

In universities, in any type of faculty or research institute, it is possible to observe innumerable informatics applications: database management, organization of catalogues, expediting diagnoses and many other applications. Within this context, distance learning could facilitate the learning of various professions. Distance education is the process of teaching-learning and the professional has to be prepared to deal with the new tools that are made available, using them to his/her benefit, and consequently in his/her professional capacity, to guarantee greater productivity and interaction with the various spheres in the work field. Methods: The aim of this research is to develop a course on the use of the Dentistry software application EasyDental, using the teaching at a distance methodology by means of the Moodle platform. The proposed course was composed of 14 modules, in order to enable a progressive and a rational learning. Conclusion: It could be concluded that this platform allowed the preparation of the proposed distance course, in a practical and versatile manner, considering the resources and activities it has. However, to use this platform, one must have dominion of the basic concepts of informatics, and the tools of the Moodle platform.

In horses less than one year of age fractures of the third metacarpal bone (McIII) or metatarsal bone III (MtIII) are mainly attributed to trauma. Open reduction and internal fixation are the most common treatment method. A Quarter Horse filly with three months of age, which weighed 150kg presented a diaphyseal multifragmentar wedge fracture of right MtIII which was treated with transcortical pins and cast, associated with intralesional application of platelet rich plasma (PRP). After two years of surgery, the animal initiated a training program for racing, and six months later, the patient ran its first official match. The choice of therapeutic methods for treating fractures in horses should be one that provides an earlier repair and minor possibility of complications. Thus, the therapy association which was adopted was considered favorable, since allowed full reestablishment of locomotion of the patient and made possible its return to race.
