O regime de metas de inflação no Brasil: um exame teórico e empírico de seu funcionamento

The Inflation targeting regime is a concept of monetary policy which was adopted by several countries in the 90’s; Brazil being among these countries, having adopted it in 1999 after a currency crisis. With it theoretical structure regulated by the New – Classical theory and having as its main characteristic the prior announcement of a numerical target for the inflation, this regime was adopted by countries attempting to achieve a prices stability. The present project is going to explain the theoretical basis of the regime, as well as its implementation process in Brazil and the criticism it received. However, the main focus will be on the discussion of the employment of the IPCA (Consumer Price Index) as a measuring index for Brazil’s inflation

Importância do exame laboratorial no diagnóstico de linfoma em cães e gatos

Lymphoma is a cancer originating in solid hematopoietic tissue and is one of the most common tumors in dogs and cats. Usually the diagnosis is made late, when the disease is at an advanced stage, reducing the success of treatment, affecting the prognosis. Therefore, early diagnosis is the best tool to combat this increasingly common disease in veterinary medicine. Due to the diversity of presentations and forms of the disease, clinical signs are nonspecific and varied making the use of laboratory testing essential to lymphoma diagnosis in order of establishing the most appropriate treatment as quickly as possible, giving the patient a longer survival rate

Cultura, educação e subjetividade: um estudo sobre o ENEM - Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio

This research attempts to analyze the relationship between the National Secondary Education Examination and the design of teaching, specifically in the way of defining what should be taught, in the present National Curriculum identifying clues that help us in the explanation of a conception of teaching and making the confrontation between the evaluation device in this ENEM. We intend to identify, even if there is consistency between what is taught and what is learned in schools, whether it public or private, and it evaluates the evidence as ENEM. This work is part of the Bachelor's Degree in Education Full theme is a critical analysis of the evaluation system ENEM regarding their school pedagogical practices. The overall goal is to bring to light the evaluative perspective envisaged in secondary education as a training practice, regarding the evaluation method levied by the National Examination of Secondary Education, seeking to raise the following reflection: The evaluation addressed in high school according to the National Curriculum meets view of the National Middle School? To answer this question, the work specified in a field research through analysis of evidence applied to the Portuguese Language School students in two schools, one in public and one private school, both in the city of Rio Claro, São Paulo, the analysis on the Matrix Reference ENEM in order to show whether the school pedagogical practice meets the demand of this evaluation system. Síntese e estudo da diapocinina como um inibidor da NADPH Oxidase em neutrófilos e células mononucleares de sangue periférico

Apocynin, a methoxy-catechol originally extracted from the root of Picrorhiza kurroa, has been used as an inhibitor of the NADPH oxidase complex in phagocytic and nonphagocytic cells. Its mechanism of inhibition is linked to their prior activation through the action of peroxidases leading to oxidation of the dimeric product, diapocynin. In this study, dipocinina was synthesized and investigated its effect as an inhibitor of activation NADPH oxidase in neutrophils (PMN) and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC). The synthesis of diapocinina was performed by oxidation of apocinina by potassium persulphate in the midst of water for 5 minutes at room temperature. The precipitate was filtered and washed with water and methanol. Diapocinina was characterized by mass spectrometry. PMN and PBMC were obtained from peripheral blood of healthy donors and purified for gelatin sedimentation, or centrifugation with Histopaque ®, the red cells were lysed with ice water or ammonium chloride. Diapocinina or apocinina were incubated with opsonized zymosan, activation of PMNs and release of superoxide anion, these monitored by chemiluminescent assay dependent lucigenina. We found that diapocinina inhibitor was no better than the apocinina in PMN. However, diapocinina was more efficient than apocinina as an inhibitor of NADPH oxidase in PBMC. In conclusion, whereas PBMC are relatively poor compared with peroxidases PMN, our results are consistent with the need for oxidation apocinina for its effect as an inhibitor of NADPH oxidase

Histologia comparada de brânquias, fígado e sangue em peixes da espécie Prochilodus lineatus, expostos a águas contaminadas

Os estudos hematológicos das diferentes espécies de peixes são de interesse ecológico e fisiológico, auxiliando na compreensão da relação entre as características sanguíneas, a filogenia, a atividade física, o hábitat e a adaptabilidade dos peixes ao ambiente. No experimento realizado foram testados os efeitos de águas contaminadas em parâmetros hematológicos de peixes da espécie Prochilodus lineatus, em períodos de coleta de 7 e 20 dias, nos quais o sangue foi coletado com seringas heparinizadas, foram montadas lâminas de esfregaço , as quais foram coradas pelo corante de Leishman. Estas lâminas foram analisadas e fotografadas com o auxílio de um microscópio óptico Leica, no qual foram feitas contagens totais de células brancas e contagens diferenciais de trombócitos e leucócitos, para a análise estatística. O grupo exposto ao Lago Azul apresentou uma elevação no número de leucócitos e no total de células brancas, evidenciando que os contaminantes químicos do ambiente estavam atuando de forma semelhante a um antígeno no corpo do animal fazendo com que suas células de defesa se proliferassem. Quanto ao grupo exposto ao detergente, observou-se que após os vinte dias de experimento ocorreu uma diminuição no número de trombócitos. Tais resultados evidenciam que a variação no número de leucócitos apresentou-se como um indicador de poluição ambiental e que os detergentes biodegradáveis podem em certo tempo de exposição ocasionar um déficit em funções vitais de peixes como à coagulação e a prevenção contra infecções, eventos ligados diretamente com os trombócitos. IL-10 e TNF-α no sangue materno e nas placentas de gestações complicadas por diabete ou hiperglicemia gestacional leve - correlação com controle glicêmico e resultados perinatais

Objective - At evaluating the IL-10 production in maternal blood and placenta and correlate them with perinatal outcomes in pregnancies complicated by hyperglycemia, or with risk to developing it, differentiated by the glycemic mean (GM < or ≥ 100mg/dL). Method- 186 pregnant women were distributed into groups GM < 100 mg/dL and GM ≥ 100 mg/dL. We evaluated the GM, HbA1c levels, maternal and placental IL-10 and TNF-α and the correlation between placental cytokines and perinatal outcomes. Results - In maternal blood, the lower concentrations of IL-10 (1.01 ± 0.87 vs. 3.08 ± 5.57 pg / mL, p = 0.0019) were observed in GM ≥ 100 mg / dL group. Placental IL-10 was directly correlated with hemoglobin levels (r = 0.63, p = 0.02) and insulin (r = 0.78, p = 0.01) from umbilical cord and with Apgar scores 1 (r = 0.53, p = 0.0095) and Apgar 5 (r = 0.69, p = 0.0003). Conclusion - GM ≥ 100mg/dL was associated with decreased of maternal IL-10. Placental IL-10 was similar in both groups and correlated directly with hemoglobin and insulin and with Apgar scores of 1st. and 5th. minutes

Aspectos clínicos e cirúrgicos do osteossarcoma canino

Osteosarcoma is the primary osseous neoplasia frequently diagnosed in dogs and it’s the main answerable for more than 85% of the neoplasias origened from the skeleton. The average age of onset of the lesion is 7 years, especially in large breeds and giant, with males being more affected than females. In general, 75% of osteosarcomas develop in the appendicular skeleton and 25% in the axial. The forelimbs are more affected than the hindlimbs, since support 60% of body weight. The osteosarcoma diagnosis is made by the analys of the animal’s clinic historic, detailed physique exams, blood exams alkaline phosphatase, xray exams, cytology, biopsy. The treatment of choice is the amputation associated to the chemotherapy. However, in some cases the member is preserved by the allograft technic. The chemotherapy associated to the surgery reduces the total load of the tumor, lengthens the interval of the life and improves the quality of pacient’s life. The most used medicines are cisplatin and doxorubicin. They can be used in separated or associated ways. The prognostic of dogs with osteosarcoma is reserved

Percepção de mulheres sobre consulta de enfermagem, exame de papanicolaou e vulvovaginite

The nursing consult (a job exclusive to a nurse), is a great instrument to gynecology, seeing as nurses are of fundamental importance in the prevention of uterine cancer, mostly by the use of the Papanicolau test, the most efficient method in the early detection and prevention of this kind of cancer. In addition to that, this consult includes a breast exam and possibly a vulvovaginitis exam, so that necessary forwardings and exam applications can be done. That being said, the work, in a qualitative analysis has been done in the “Healthcare center and school” in the city of Botucatu – SP, intending to measure the perception of the women in the population, of the Papanicoulau Test, the nursing consults, and their knowledge about vulvovaginitis. Twenty women were interviewed (using semi-structured interviews), and given forms after the nursing consult. The interviews were analysed using Bardin’s content analysis technique. The results show that the women’ reactions to the procedures were positive. Even Though there’s a culture of submission to medicine, and the Papanicolau test is seen by them as a necessary and important (even if unconfortable) procedure in the early prevention and detection of uterine cancer and other diseases, there was little to no knowledge about the signs, symptoms, and transmission methods for those different diseases. It is up to the nurse to facilitate these women’ access to that information, regarding not only the prevention of diseases, but also, and especially, the nursing consult’s relevance on theuterine cancer prevention program

Estudo da viscosidade do sangue: quantidade de amostra necessária à obtenção de medida

Os valores encontrados para a viscosidade sanguínea tendem a aparecer com diferenças significativas, de acordo com o sexo, avançar da idade e uso de substâncias. Pelo fato de o sangue ser um fluido não newtoniano, não podemos expressar sua viscosidade em termos absolutos sem que sejam levadas em conta as condições em que a mensuração é feita. Estudos anteriores destacaram a importância esta medida, considerando o efeito da idade, o uso de substâncias, bem como sua relação com Fluxo Sanguíneo Regional Cerebral, o que pode indicar correlação com declínios cognitivos. Entretanto, a prática médica carece ainda de um método simples e clinicamente prático para a verificação desta medida, além de valores de referência. Como passo inicial no sentido de padronizar os procedimentos e condições do processo de medição, avaliamos a quantidade mínima de amostra necessária para a medição da viscosidade sanguínea, utilizando este equipamento. Um total de 20 amostras de sangue foram coletadas de indivíduos saudáveis, entre 18 e 60 anos, em tubos com EDTA, e cada amostra dividida em 9 sub-amostras (de 600μl, 550μl, 500μl, 450μl, 400μl, 350μl, 300μl, 250μl e 200μl), totalizando, portanto, um total de aproximadamente 180 medições. A quantidade de 200 μl apresentou diferenças significativas com relação à primeira medida obtida, quando comparada com todas as demais quantidades (p<0,001), o que indica que com o uso desta quantidade, não é possível obter resultados confiáveis, pois existe alteração nos valores de VS obtidos relacionada à quantidade de material utilizado. Considerando a menor quantidade, bem como, que estivesse dentro da faixa de variação aceitável de 0,2 mPa.s, e a qual não apresentasse diferença significativa quando comparadas às demais (p>0,05), foi verificada a quantidade de 250 μl como a mais eficiente... Efeito das baixas concentrações de agentes antineoplásicos sobre linfócitos humanos de sangue periférico

Our previous studies have shown that low concentrations (noncytotoxics) of antineoplastic agents modulate positively the dendritic cells, favoring their in vitro maturation and improving their antigen presenting function. The effects on colorectal cancer cells (HCT-116) were also investigated and we have observed an increased immunogenicity and susceptibility to cytotoxic T cells. Thereby, this study aimed to investigate the effect of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) an azacitidine (AZA), in minimum effective and noncytotoxic concentrations on lymphocytes of healthy donors. In this study we have analyzed the cytotoxic effect of drugs at these concentrations as well as the proliferative ability of lymphocytes. In vitro production of IL-10 and IFN-γ has been also evaluated. We have observed that low concentrations of those chemotherapeutic agents are not cytotoxic for lymphocytes. However, the minimum effective concentrations (5-FU: 0,410±0,088 e AZA: 0,757±0,233; p<0, 05) have reduced the cell number. Proliferative activity of allogeneic lymphocytes in a mixed reaction (MLR) was not affected by the treatment. The cytokine production was not affected by the treatments, either. In conclusion, low concentrations of 5-FU and AZA has no deleterious effects on human peripheral blood lymphocytes and seems to be safe for combinatory administration with DC vaccines
