Com a disseminação da agricultura industrial, com grande utilização de insumos tecnológicos, mecanizada e fundamentada num número reduzido de espécies e variedades de plantas cultivadas, os modos de produção autóctone têm sofrido pressões em todo mundo. Entre estas, citam-se a modernização do campo, a perda de terras para agricultura comercial em larga escala e a emigração dos jovens em busca de melhores condições de vida, que acarretam grandes mudanças para estes sistemas agrícolas. As comunidades de agricultores de subsistência são detentoras de uma gama de variedades de diversas espécies cultivadas, sendo que essa diversidade é um fator adaptativo importante para o agricultor ante as variações ambientais, climáticas, biológicas e socioeconômicas, além de ser importante para a segurança do sistema alimentar mundial. Isto faz com que estes agricultores se tornem importantes parceiros para programas de conservação in situ de plantas cultivadas. No Brasil, assentamentos rurais são formados por agricultores de diversas origens, e são locais onde a agricultura é parcialmente voltada para a subsistência. Dentre a grande diversidade de plantas cultivadas para subsistência, as raízes e os tubérculos constituem, depois dos cereais, a principal fonte de alimento para a população humana. O presente estudo visou levantar as espécies de raízes e tubérculos cultivados nos Assentamentos Rurais Araras I, II, III e IV, no município de Araras, São Paulo, e analisou a potencialidade dos pequenos agricultores das assentamentos como mantedores de agrobiodiversidade. A pesquisa se deu através de entrevistas estruturadas e semi-estruturadas, onde os agricultores entrevistados forma selecionados de maneira aleatória e estratificada entre os quatro assentamentos. A China têm se destacado entre os países emergentes desde sua abertura comercial, no ano de 1978, pelas altas taxas de crescimento econômico, o que permitiu que o país chegasse a segunda maior economia mundial em 2011. Apesar de ter tido um passado pautado, majoritariamente, na agricultura e no isolamento econômico, com um regime político comunista, no final da década de 1970, a China desenvolveu estratégias de modernização, atraindo Investimento Direto Estrangeiro, seguindo com uma moeda desvalorizada, além do baixo custo de mão de obra que permitiu ao país o desenvolvimento de indústrias, se tornando grande exportador de produtos de alta tecnologia

This monograph object of analysis is the agriculture modernization in Brazil between 1960 and 1980, highlighting the discussion of the economic and politic ideas around the Brazilian agrarian question. The first parte presents an introduction about this issue and the theoretical positions, as well as social and economic implications for the development of the productive forces on rural areas. Nevertheless, reflections of its development to the economy as a whole, highlighting the way the income distribution and concentration was realized. On the second part its presented the agriculture modernization Project on the centralized militar government point of view, by the propositions of that time Agriculture Minister, Antônio Delfim Netto. The approach is made through the proposals precreeded by the Rural Worker Statute and the Land Statute, before the Military Coup, with its news counterpoints settled in law by the Agriculture Modernization Project installed in 1964; the concessions of funding grants and subsidized credits; the relationship between the authoritarian State and the militarization of the land conflicts. The third part deals with the salary dinamics, income and profit on the modernized rural economy created by the agroindustrial productions system. Lastly the conclusion cross the economic and social results of the agrarian question evolution, to the Brazilian agriculture modernization on income distribution

This article supposes that the Brazilian public university has dilemmas and challenges due to a more complex process that affects the whole society: Brazil has to deal with specific problems of its modernization process, at the same time that it is under pressure by the new challenges that are resulted from the globalization process. Based on a specialized literature, the aim of this article is to show how this interweaving modern/hypermodern process is challenging Brazilian public university toward more and more complex and diversified demands.

Governament organizations has as challenge for their governance the requirement ro improve evaluation system that measure the acting of their mediations and profefer for society informations about achievements. The text analyze the challenges and advances of evaluation tools for produce guidelines that could be inserted at context of decision-making from public agents. Thereunto informations must be reliable and real-time, creating vectors of haste for modernization of informational capacity of State as a whole.

The paper compares the evolution of the brasilian and chinese agriculture emphasizing the post II World War period. It tries to show the structural changes in the agriculture in both countries and characterizing the dynamics of them. For both countries, the effort of industrialization after 1945 meant to sacrify the agriculture to a second plan. In the 1970’ Brazil and China begin to modernize their agriculture and adjust it to new challangers put by the necessity of guarantee the food security. The paper concludes that, in spite of some present problems, both countries face adequately the defiance on their agriculture.

The Brazilian automotive industry has undergone profound changes during the 90’s decade, as a consequence of the market opening up through the liberation of automobile imports. The exposure of the Brazilian domestic market to competition with imported products of high quality and lower prices indicated the need for significant changes in those auto industries operating in this country, with the intention of making them competitive. To achieve these objectives management and production concepts were adopted, such as: the just-in-time philosophy; lean manufacturing; outsourcing; reengineering and increasing the rate of automation in both production and management systems. These changes helped to increase productivity and, in turn, reduced the level of employment in the sector, especially in activities where the required qualification levels were low. Despite this modernization, the Brazilian companies have committed themselves to meet the specific needs of the Brazilian market. The objective of this paper is to analyze and present manufacturing strategies from six manufacturers of automotive vehicles: Toyota in Japan, Fiat in Italy, Volkswagen in Brazil and Germany and General Motors in the U.S. and Brazil. The predominant method of research was from reviewing relevant literature, whereas the empirical data was analyzed qualitatively. The article seeks to identify the manufacturing strategies adopted by manufacturers located in the above countries, electing one automotive manufacturer to represent each country. The research demonstrated that the processes for production of automobiles in four plants located in, the U.S. (GM); Italy (Fiat); Japan (Toyota) and Germany (VW) are similar to those adopted in Brazilian industrial plants of the same companies (GM and VW), with differences of operations only in the business strategies adopted by each of them.

The history and formation of the government in Brazil was, and still is, a central object of study in several fields of knowledge. Albeit with varied approaches highlight was given in the literature for two central reforms occurred between mid 1930s and mid 1990s This perception establishes a long history of Brazilian public administration, putting in their two extreme nodal points of this trajectory: the creation of DASP and the action of the MARE. Each of these institutional projects is directly linked to the conception of the role and performance of the Brazilian public administration instruments, as well as the goals to be achieved, revealing the intimate connection with the coeval political debate of each period. Based on this scenario, the objective of this study is to analyze the role of DASP as a strategic instrument in a Brazilian public "intelligentsia" in construction during the 1930s, strongly associated with a political project of modernization of Brazilian society
