Conjugal problems may damage parents and children relationships favoring the appearance of behavior problems, as well as causing psychological problems. Given the lack of studies which value several interrelated behavioral repertoires, the present paper aims at presenting assessment results employing multiple instruments in regards to the three couples that sought clinical services at a University clinic. Results indicated that participants were presenting communication deficits, problem solving difficulties, and problems in expressing affection confirming literature findings. Problems in other areas were also reported, which influenced the marital relationship. It stands out that the children were presenting indications of behavior problems. The relevance of data collection applying different instruments is discussed, and it is necessary that intervention programs consider individual difficulties, besides setting up singular objectives for each person searching for service.

Especialização hemisférica e assimetrias comportamentais: o lado da cama tem gênero?

Data relative on the side occupied by females in double beds were collected in order to evaluate the feasebility to carryout a more extensive study to determine if this behavioral pattern is lateralized. Information relative to the side occupied in the bed, manual lateralization, how long lived togheter, and other related questions were collected in a sample of 229 women aged from 20 to 65 years old. Total frequencies of the bed side occupied showed to be equivalent, however, the left side showed to be chosen significantly more (70%)(χ2 = 5.4; 1 d.f.; p<0.05) when the choice was stated to be spontaneous (i.e, not determined by an impositive factor) . It is concluded that the obtained data give favourable support to an extensive study on the subject, which inserts into the area of research devoted to the understanding of the functional characteristics of central nervous functioning.

Encoprese e intervenção psicológica: revisão de literatura

Studies have shown that encopresis, related to bowel control disorder, can bring significant impact for the individual life, such as low self-esteem and deficits in social interaction. Despite the significant impairment recognized that this disorder can have on child development, the scientific literature has given little attention to the theme, with a low number of publications on the subject. Thus, this paper investigated Brazilian publications in psychology related to encopresis between 1994 and 2013 in data base Lilacs and Scielo. 231 articles were found and were selected those that reported only intervention in encopresis. There were five articles and four published by the same journal and described behavioral interventions, and one author wrote three. The other one was psychoanalytic. The surveys were conducted with children and adolescents and behavioral interventions have been successful with remission of encopresis symptoms. The data affirm the deficiency in publications in the area and possibly limited number of psychologists investigating the issue, which is of significant importance.

Modern society is characterized by the advance of technologies, the emergence and constant development of the technological field is responsible for a series of population adjustments, that being practically molded and daily transformed by media, which usually has the power of manipulating opinions and public approaches in every capacity and extensions of our lives, being a significantly and important tool, which most part of individuals in contemporary society can't work and live without, therefore most part of individuals depend on the use of many technological means, including social means, which have great relationship with the development and emergence of many psychological problems that completely impact on the social life of affected individuals, thus Physical Education is an area with the goal of verifying the level of influence that media reflects on the lifestyle choice to be followed and the relation of this influence with the presence and development of a series of psychological disorders that affect directly the health of those individuals. Avaliação de sobrevida, alterações genitourinárias, comportamentais e de peso corpóreo no pós-operatório tardio em cadelas e gatas submetidas à ovariosalpingohisterectomia sob diferentes métodos de ligadura do pedículo ovariano

A contracepção cirúrgica é utilizada no controle populacional, por impedir definitivamente a reprodução e ser mais econômica em relação à eutanásia. As complicações ocorrem pela intervenção cirúrgica ou por efeitos sistêmicos da privação do estrógeno. Objetivou-se monitorar o período pós-operatório de cadelas e gatas castradas em projeto de extensão universitária, com o intuito de avaliar os benefícios e a incidência de efeitos adversos. Foram questionados por telefone os proprietários de 178 fêmeas castradas (135 caninas e 43 felinas), entre um e dois anos após a cirurgia. As questões envolviam o estado atual do animal, possível mortalidade, neste caso a causa da morte e quanto tempo após a cirurgia ocorreu, se ocorreram alterações físicas como ganho de peso, incontinência urinária e dermatite peri-vulvar e alterações comportamentais positivas, como docilidade e diminuição do comportamento de perambulação, ou negativas, como apatia, agressividade e agitação excessiva. Das 135 cadelas castradas, 12 (8,89%) apresentaram óbito, apenas um relacionado à cirurgia, 87 (64,44%) apresentaram ganho de peso após a cirurgia, uma (0,74%) apresentou incontinência urinária e quatro (2,96%) dermatite peri-vulvar. Alterações de comportamento positivas foram relatadas em 38 (28,15%) cadelas e negativas em seis (4,44%). Das 43 gatas castradas, seis (13,95%) apresentaram óbito, nenhum relacionado à cirurgia, 25 (58,14%) apresentaram ganho de peso, uma (2,32%) incontinência urinária e duas (4,65%) dermatite peri-vulvar . Alterações de comportamento positivas ocorreram em 20 fêmeas (46,51%) e alterações negativas em nenhuma fêmea (0%). Pode-se concluir que a contracepção cirúrgica apresenta boa relação custo-benefício no que diz respeito a alterações pós-operatórias de longo prazo.
