The resistance to the military dictatorship in Brazil (1964-1985) had many faces, especially among intellectuals. This article will discuss the activity of some writers and journalists in the process of articulation as leftist intellectuals in opposition to the military regime, as "cultural resistance" in various forms assumed in the context of politicization of culture and cultural goods market in the mid 1960´s.

Arquivo e literatura: perspectivas de acesso e difusão da memória literária no Brasil

Besides storing, the culture and science institutions in charge of the of Brazilian writers’ personal archives play such an important role on the organization and representation of the country’s literary information. In general, the target public for these collections is composed by researchers from the field of Literature once the documents produced by the writers throughout his/her life and career constitute primary research source for the artistic, historical and literary investigation. However, it is still convenient to stand out those users with no academic instruction, whose interest in such collections is justified by their looking up to the individual. In this sense, literary memory places, such as the Brazilian Literature Archive Museum – AMLB (RJ) -, the Brazilian Literature Academy – ABL – (RJ) and the Brazilian Studies Institute – IEB – (SP) turn out to be responsible for offering access to the literary archives and literary information. Thus, it is necessary to consider that databases demonstrate themselves as utter disseminators of the preservation and diffusion of the literary memory, coming up with several possibilities for cultural and scientific action in Literature. This study focuses on showing the contributions of databases towards the literary archives, the challenges and perspectives observed according to the mentioned institutions’ reality, in whose missions the discourse of the literary memory preservation is inserted.

A revista civilização brasileira: projeto editorial e resistência cultural (1965-1968)

During the first years of the military dictatorship, established in Brazil through a coup d'État, a number of institutions which repression had left unarticulated began a process of resistance and opposition to the military government. Cultural resistance was one of the consecrated forms of resistance that was exercised by intellectuals, artists, professors and cultural producers, among others, and that became an unprecedented political and cultural phenomenon in the country's history. Political, insofar as it aided in the process of re-organizing left-wing political parties and in the revision of the ideological postulates of its preeminent party, the PCB (Partido Comunista Brasileiro - Brazilian Communist Party). Cultural, because this re-organization occurred, frequently, within the ambit of cultural productions, in which the left created a space for contestation and engagement through the arts and intellectual activities. Within this process, between the years 1965 and 1968. The journal Civilização Brasileira became an important space for the building of leftist cultural resistance against the military dictatorship. The journal was able to impose its political legitimacy while at the same time participating actively in a market o cultural goods sustained by the so-called cultural hegemony of the left.

A indústria cultural brasileira: crescimento e influências

Este presente trabalho relata primeiramente o nascimento e desenvolvimento da indústria cultural brasileira em seu sentido integral, priorizando seu lado econômico, que se deu basicamente em 1930 com tentativas não tão bem sucedidas, mas que em 1960, com ajuda do governo militar (por interesses claros), se destacou e cresceu grandemente. Da mesma forma, pretendeu abordar aspectos que envolvem o amadurecimento e a estabilização deste mercado de bens no Brasil, de forma a descrever a situação atual, do século XXI, das firmas e empresas que integram esta cadeia que acaba por representar a cultura brasileira, principalmente na análise da qualidade de cada mercado de bens culturais inseridos dentro deste ramo da economia brasileira. Assim sendo, devido à complexidade e a profundidade do tema, esta monografia atreveu-se também a expor situações e fatos que levem o leitor à reflexão das influências que esta indústria causa na própria cultura brasileira, sendo capaz de modificar todo um cenário social, político ou econômico

Pluralidade cultural e educação física: elaboração de material didático

In 1997, the National Curriculum Parameters (BRASIL, 1997a) proposed the incorporation of the Transversal Themes in all of the knowledge areas. Specifically in the School Physical Education, the teacher working with transversality must stabilish bridges between the body culture practice with these themes. Promote this relationship is not a simple task and there are many problems that stuck the advance of this propose. So, thinking about making didactical formulat teaching stragies and think about the development of their practice. Another challenge is considerate as a beginning in the pedagogic activity the student’s knowledge and experience, as listening during the process of knowledge construction. In this way, the aim of this research is investigate the 8th and 9th grade of the primary school students conception about Cultural Plurality. After this, using the information taken gron the students, we are going to present subisidies to make a textbook, for the teachers and for students, with Physical Education activities possibilies with this Transversal Theme. Keeping in mind the aim of this research, we used the semi-structed interview as a instrument of data collection. The interview was made with 30 students of the 8th and 9th grade the primary school from two statual schools of Rio Claro city. The procediments were executed following the ethics comite requirements. In other to associate the Cultural Plurality with Physical Education, dance and physical adventure activities contents were selected. The results showed that the students know few thinks about this Transversal Themes, because they had apoor knowledge, according to National Curriculum Parameters. In scholar environment and Physical Education classes, there are many cases of prejudice and discrimination, mostly by the leack of ability. Estudo sobre os fatores que explicam e influenciam a taxa de natalidadade no Brasil

O movimento de controle de natalidade mundial já ocorreu em diversos países desde os séculos passados, principalmente naqueles considerados do primeiro mundo. Os dados obtidos no Brasil demonstram a redução sensível dessa taxa de natalidade, porém de maneira distinta comparada aos dos países tidos como desenvolvidos. Dessa forma, estudou-se a taxa de natalidade brasileira e suas variações ao longo dos anos, no período de 1940 a 2000, tendo em vista as mudanças de fatores no âmbito econômico, social, político e cultural. Esse estudo se fundamentou numa base bibliográfica em que as atividades desenvolvidas foram pautadas na metodologia científica. Os dados de crescimento populacional foram analisados à luz das Teorias Demográficas Malthusiana, Neomalthusiana e Reformistas ou Marxistas, fazendo um comparativo com a Teoria da Transição Demográfica de Thompson. Além disso, o estudo fez uso da pesquisa quantitativa para compreender o seu objeto de interesse, pois os dados e as evidências coletados foram quantificados, organizados, tabulados e preparados para serem submetidos a análises estatísticas e econométricas. Para o estudo foram utilizados dados obtidos no IPEADATA, nos anos de 1991 e 2000, explicados por meio de uma regressão, tendo como variáveis independentes o analfabetismo, o número de domicílios com televisão e energia elétrica, a esperança de vida ao nascer, a freqüência escolar, o número de médicos por habitante, a mortalidade infantil, o número de homicídios por município, a participação da mulher no mercado de trabalho, a população rural, o percentual de pobreza, a renda per capita e a renda de transferências governamentais. Assim, foi possível elaborar um modelo de regressão com dados em painel que mediu a influência dessas variáveis sobre a taxa de fecundidade brasileira. Os resultados indicaram o impacto dessas...
